Chapter 36 Controlling the Train Conductor

"What is Ki-woo up to?"

After ending the call, the train conductor was still a little worried, so before the time was up, he prepared to get off the train and go to the back of the carriage to check on the situation.

He hadn't gone far when he saw a man walking towards him, seemingly carrying a bloody human head.

The train conductor thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes and then he could see everything clearly.

"Oh my god, someone's been murdered."

The train conductor exclaimed in surprise and almost ran away, but luckily Ki-woo came over from behind.

“Commander...don’t be afraid, this is Wizard Li.”

Seeing the driver's frightened expression, Ki-woo quickly explained to him.

"Commander, look closely, those are zombies, not people..."

Ki-woo pointed to the severed head in Lee Ho-tien's hand and said.

"Roar."

The zombie head let out a low growl, and its ferocious face startled the driver, but he managed to regain his composure.

After recovering, the way they looked at Li Haotian became respectful.

"Train conductor, as you can see, something like this has appeared on the train. It's no longer safe around here. I need you to close the doors immediately and depart right away. Don't wait any longer."

"After setting off, do not stop. Drive directly towards Busan. The surrounding cities will probably fall soon. Getting off the bus will only lead to death."

Li Haotian quickly explained his arrangements.

"No, the train needs to follow the dispatch schedule. What will happen to the passengers if it doesn't stop?"

The train conductor was still unaware of the seriousness of the situation and was still trying to follow the rules.

Li Haotian didn't explain further, but picked up the zombie's head and shoved it in front of the driver.

"Ahhh!"

A terrifying human head suddenly stared at him, and the train conductor was so frightened that he backed away repeatedly.

"Hmph, you idiot, do you think I'm discussing this with you?"

“Once these zombies bite someone, they immediately turn into zombies. The government simply cannot clear them out in a short period of time. If one zombie appears in the area, then thousands of them will appear in a short time.”

"If you get out of the car, the zombies will attack immediately once they spot you, and you won't be able to escape. Do you want to get them killed?"

"If you don't believe me, after the train starts moving, you can communicate with the higher-ups every now and then and see if they'll ask you to change the route. Those people will never tell the truth. If you don't listen, I'll curse you right now."

After saying that, Li Haotian's expression hardened, and he threatened the train commander.

If it weren't for the fact that only the train conductor knows how to operate the train, Li Haotian wouldn't have bothered arguing with him at all; he would have just knocked him out and thrown him onto the train.

Unfortunately, there was only one train conductor, and Li Haotian didn't know how to operate a train, so he could only threaten him.

Fearing the train conductor wouldn't believe him, Li Haotian put the machete into his backpack and picked up his whisk.

Driven by magic, the whisk emitted a faint white light and was waved towards the driver.

The train conductor felt dizzy and as if his whole body was on fire, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.

"My lord wizard, spare me! I'll do as you say..."

The train conductor was sweating profusely and felt so hot he was about to collapse, so he quickly begged for mercy.

He had been hesitant, considering whether to listen to the wizard, but he never expected that the wizard would curse him without warning.

Moreover, the curse was so powerful that it took effect instantly. This person is simply a god. He, a driver, can't afford to offend such a person.

With a monthly salary of "several hundred thousand", why work so hard?

Hearing the conductor plead for mercy, Li Haotian was finally satisfied. With a flick of his whisk, he withdrew his magical power.

The train conductor immediately felt relieved, and the burning sensation in his body disappeared.

"Thank you, sir, thank you, sir."

The train conductor hurriedly expressed his gratitude.

Having gone through this ordeal, the train commander dared not neglect Li Haotian. With such methods at his disposal, how could he dare disobey?

Seeing Li Haotian perform the spell, Ji Yu was also very surprised and became even more respectful.

Li Haotian nodded in satisfaction.

He had merely used magic to stimulate the conductor's yang energy, temporarily arousing him; it was not a curse at all.

On the contrary, if the train commander can withstand it and stimulate himself for a while longer, he might even benefit from it. At the very least, he can replenish his kidney yang and cure his kidney deficiency.

However, it was obvious that the middle-aged train commander did not have the willpower, or perhaps he was frightened by the curse Li Haotian mentioned, and he begged for mercy after only a few seconds.

"Close the doors now. No matter whose orders you receive, do not obey them. Drive the train directly to Busan without stopping. If I find you disobeying, I will make you experience the power of the curse again."

Li Haotian gave the instructions.

The train conductor quickly agreed, turned around and went back to the front of the train, and Li Haotian also led the crew back to the carriage.

Soon, the doors closed, and the train started moving in less than a minute.

"Huh? Why did the train start moving early?"

Sitting in his seat, Executive Director Kim glanced at his watch and realized that the departure time was different from the time on his ticket; the train had started several minutes earlier than scheduled.

He was the executive director of the automobile company and had a very good understanding of train operations.

Normally, trains depart on time unless there's a specific reason; it's impossible for them to leave early.

"What's wrong with the driver? Did he receive some orders?"

Executive Director Kim was somewhat puzzled and planned to make a phone call to inquire about the situation.

Just then, his phone rang.

"What? Riots have broken out in Seoul? It's not safe here anymore. What about Daejeon?"

The person on the other end of the phone was unknown, but after receiving the call, Executive Director Kim appeared visibly excited.

Although Executive Director Kim was the executive director of the car company, he was just a minor figure in the eyes of the government and the conglomerate, so he did not know about the appearance of the zombies in advance.

However, being able to hear about the riots and the fall of the city already puts them ahead of most people.

“There are troops stationed in Daejeon, that’s great. I’ll find time to talk to the train commander and ask him to stop in Daejeon.”

Upon hearing the news that there were troops in Daejeon, Executive Director Kim breathed a sigh of relief, but the unease in his heart still lingered.

Meanwhile, because the train started running early, the little girl Xiu'an didn't notice anything unusual at the station, while her father, Shi Yu, received a call from the fund company's assistant.

However, his information was not as readily available as that of Director Kim; he only knew that a large-scale riot had occurred, but he knew nothing about the specific details.

"Dad, I'm going to the bathroom..."

At that moment, Xiu'an wanted to go to the toilet, so she whispered to Shi Yu.

However, Shi Yu was too busy with his stock trading to pay attention to his daughter. He just nodded casually and then ignored her.

Helpless, Xiu'an had no choice but to get up from her seat and find the restroom herself.

However, the most recent one has already been taken.

A burly man stood guard at the door. After glancing at her, he told Xiu'an to go somewhere else.

This burly man was Shang Hua, the target of Li Haotian's mission.

Xiu'an looked at the big guy, but she wasn't afraid. Just as she was about to retort, a young man walked over and stopped beside the two of them.

This person was Li Haotian. After dealing with the train conductor's matter, he threw the female zombie's head and body into the restroom, then asked the train attendant to guard them, while he went to other stations to find Shang Hua and his wife.

After walking through several carriages, he spotted Shang Hua at a glance. There was no way around it; the guy was too big and easy to spot.

"Hey, another one? Can't you see how many people are here? Go somewhere else!"

Shang Hua assumed the man was also there to use the restroom, so he frowned and said coldly.

His wife is still inside; he can't let anyone disturb her.

And with so many toilets on the train, why do they all have to squeeze together? This person really has no sense of perspective.
