Chinese agents survive in a zombie apocalypse.

Chapter 37 Survivors in Another Building

......

A young man with a stubble beard and wearing dirty ground crew clothes was peering out through a small window on the electronic door.

The electronic door across the corridor had collapsed, and apart from a few corpses piled up on the ground, the entire passage was empty.

After confirming that there were no infected individuals, the young man suddenly turned around and ran back.

"Marcus! Marcus!"

The young man ran while excitedly calling out his companion's name.

...in the rest area on the second floor.

The four men were also filthy, looking as if they hadn't showered for dozens of days, and looked extremely disheveled.

Their eyes were dull and lifeless, showing no trace of human emotion; they were more like wild beasts than living people.

At this moment, the group silently ate the charred pieces of meat in their hands. The atmosphere in the room was eerily quiet, with only the sound of chewing audible.

"......vomit."

In the corner, an Irish man dressed in ground crew uniform suddenly felt a churning in his stomach and was about to vomit.

Hearing the noise, everyone stopped eating and looked up at them with gloomy eyes.

The Irish man instinctively glanced at the bearded man in the security uniform and saw his sinister gaze fixed on him.

He hurriedly covered his mouth, swallowed back the food he was about to vomit, and dared not spit it out.

Seeing this, the others turned their attention away and continued eating like emotionless robots.

The Irish man still glanced furtively at the bearded man, a hint of fear in his eyes. Only when he saw that the man was no longer paying attention to him did he breathe a sigh of relief.

They were all airport staff. After the virus outbreak, those unkillable monsters entered the building. After a fierce battle, with most of them dying, they finally managed to clear out the monsters on the second floor.

But the remaining people were completely terrified.

When they saw their colleagues from Area A being chased by monsters to the entrance of Area B and asking for help, no matter how much the people outside pleaded or cursed, they were met with resistance.

They simply watched as the people were overwhelmed by the monsters, and not a single person uttered a word to suggest letting people in.

Because the passageways to the first and third floors were blocked, they were trapped and died on the second floor of the warehouse building.

No one expected that this predicament would last for a full 52 days.

After waiting for no rescue, most people lost hope and gave up any illusions about outside help.

The more serious issue is that warehouse B mainly handles industrial and medical supplies, while daily necessities are concentrated in warehouse A.

Therefore, they soon faced a food shortage.

There were even some fights among the survivors over food, which resulted in the deaths of several people.

Even so, they dared not go out to face those unkillable monsters.

Until one day, they finally ate everything they could find.

Everyone was in dire straits, facing starvation.

Ultimately, some people with weak wills could not hold on and chose to end their lives by suicide.

Three days after the food supply was completely cut off, the starving people turned their attention to those who were committing suicide.

Once the beast within is unleashed, things spiral out of control.

Once a corpse is consumed, a fresh "suicide" corpse will appear.

And these people who are "suicided" are naturally those who cannot accept all of this.

So the remaining people survived, abandoning their humanity in order to live.

It even formed a distorted rule: those who wanted to live had to eat meat together, and those who didn't eat or vomited after eating would become food for others.

With the only pistol in hand, airport security guard Marcus naturally became the absolute master of life and death among the survivors.

Originally, there were more than a dozen survivors, but apart from two or three who died earlier in the fight for food, only five and a half are left alive.

“Marcus, Marcus…”

Just then, shouts came from outside the room.

Everyone in the room stopped eating and stared nervously at the door, each one like a frightened bird.

Marcus stood up abruptly, his face contorted with rage. He threw the piece of meat in his hand to the ground and strode toward the door.

Soon, the unshaven young man rushed in from outside the door, only to be greeted by a large slap in the face.

"Fuck, shut up! Do you want to lure those monsters up here?"

Marcus slapped the young man to the ground and angrily berated him.

“Pete…”

The Irish man saw the young man being beaten and cried out in concern.

But after Marcus turned around and glared at him fiercely, he dared not utter another sound and could only watch him with heartache from behind.

The young man, Pete, covered his swollen face and stared in fear at the menacing-looking Marcus, too terrified to utter a sound.

Seeing that he was stunned and speechless, Marcus was so angry that he kicked him and shouted angrily, "What are you doing?"

"Damn idiot! Speak up! What's going on outside? Have those monsters come in?"

Pete was kicked in the abdomen again, and the intense pain made him reflexively arch his body.

But fearing further beatings, he endured the pain and recounted, haltingly, what he had just witnessed:

"A...Area...the corridor...the door...collapsed...several monsters died, the...other monsters...are all...gone..."

"What...why would you step on a door when it's perfectly fine?"

"Could it be that the backup power supply to the electronic gate has run out?"

The other two were also alarmed by the news Pete brought; they stood up and gathered around...

"You mean... the monster in the corridor is dead?"

Marcus asked with a frown.

"Yes...I saw...several corpses piled on the ground, all belonging to those monsters in the corridor..."

Pete replied.

Marcus's expression shifted between light and shadow upon hearing this, and his eyes flickered.

If only the electronic door collapsed, those monsters wouldn't have died.

Therefore, there is only one possibility: there are still living people in the other building, and they are clearing out those monsters.

He continued to ask:

Have you seen any living people?

"No...no..."

Pete shook his head in response.

"..."

Marcus fell silent.

Regardless, this is good news for them.

Now that the passage to Area A has been opened, as long as they occupy it, all the resources in Area A will be theirs.

Thinking of this, Marcus was deeply moved, and an excited look appeared in his sinister eyes.

The others quickly grasped this point as well, since those who survived weren't fools.

That's Warehouse A; all the daily necessities are stored there.

They all looked at Marcus with excitement...

Over the past two months, Marcus's ruthlessness has become deeply ingrained in people's minds, and they have all become accustomed to obeying his orders.

Just then, they heard a loud banging on the door coming from afar...
