Chapter 96 Orc Trial Grounds 1
"You can only complete the trial by yourself. If you need help, you can contact me anytime!" Sigismund instructed Russell.
Russell was a little confused and asked: Aren't you all going?
Sigismund shook his head and said, "None of us will go. You'll have to complete this on your own for the next year. I won't send anyone to rescue you unless you face a life-or-death situation. Don't let me down."
Russell could only nod helplessly and say: "I will do whatever you say, sir."
This trial is comprehensive. Fully armed Russell will be sent to a temporarily safe place, and then everything will be up to him.
Russell was taken to a cave, where a Black Templar told him: This is your secret base. There is ammunition and food here. You cannot stay here for long. You can only return here if you run out of ammunition or are injured. When you return here, remember not to be discovered by the orc scouts, otherwise they will destroy this place and your trial will fail.
Russell nodded and said, "I understand."
After the Black Templars left, Russell was the only one left in the cave.
Russell looked around and found that the cave was not very big, but it was filled with things. He opened them one by one and found that there were mostly battery bombs, while food and water were only a small part.
He did not leave the cave immediately, but rested inside for two days until he was in peak condition before choosing to leave. Just as he reached the cave entrance, Russell stopped again. He looked at his armor, remained silent for a while, and then removed all of his armor.
Why did he remove his armor? He had his own reasons. He couldn't use armor like a Space Marine, so the armor might become a burden. Fighting the Orcs required wisdom, not brute force.
After Russell removed his armor and put it away, he realized that while the armor could be removed, the equipment could not. He needed better equipment to fight the orcs.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered his old friend "Zog," that fierce man from Katachon. Russell remembered clearly that he had taken down more than a thousand orc boys with a dagger. He knew he couldn't have done that with brute force. Russell felt he should learn from him and adopt a flexible guerrilla tactic, because only in this way could he deal with more orcs.
The Fire Kirin can snipe from a distance, and in close combat it can rely on the Bloodthirster and the Power Axe. If it encounters a powerful enemy, it can use the Bomb Gun...
After making his plans, he quietly left the cave.
The cave was surrounded by tall weeds. He finally emerged from the weeds and found himself facing a huge river with swift currents and towering waves.
How to cross the river became a problem. He could only follow the river forward for an unknown amount of time before finding a relatively narrow section of the river. Since there was no boat, he decided to wade across.
Neither the Fire Kirin nor the Bomb Gun were afraid of water, so he didn't take any precautions against the two weapons and jumped directly into the water. The river was deep and extremely cold, so cold that Russell gasped.
At that moment, he couldn't care less about anything else; he could only swing his arms and swim forward with all his might. Although the current was rapid, Russell's arms were very strong.
He quickly swam to the middle of the river when suddenly a huge splash appeared not far from him. The sudden noise startled Russell, but he thought it was just a fish and didn't pay any attention. Little did he know that a huge blue python was approaching him, its massive, thick body appearing and disappearing in the water.
What Russell didn't know was that this river was extremely dangerous, containing not only giant pythons and terrifying crocodiles, but also few orcs dared to approach it.
If he knew, he wouldn't dare swim in the river anymore.
Russell, who was swimming with great effort, suddenly felt something touch him underwater. Startled, he quickly turned his head and was so frightened by what he saw that he almost lost his mind.
A giant python, as thick as a water bucket, was staring at him.
"Ah!" Russell cried out and began to swim frantically. Of course, the giant python wouldn't give him a chance to escape. It opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp fangs, and lunged at Russell.
Russell had no chance of escaping in the water. The python bit into Russell's shoulder, its sharp teeth piercing deep into his muscles, causing blood to flow freely.
That wasn't the end of it. After the giant python bit Russell, it began to swing wildly. Russell's body was also uncontrollably swinging back and forth with the python's head. With each swing, the wound widened, and more blood flowed out. Russell was screaming in agony.
Russell's tenacity exceeded the python's expectations; no matter how the python thrashed about, Russell struggled frantically.
Finally, the giant python stopped thrashing about. Still dazed, Russell reached out to grab the "Blood Drinker" at his waist. No matter how powerful the enemy was, Russell would not give up the fight.
With a powerful flick of its head, the python threw Russell into the water, its thick body quickly coiling around the semi-conscious Russell.
The immense force caused Russell's bones to crack and pop, dragging him to the bottom of the river.
At this rate, Russell would die in no time. Even though he was at the bottom of the river, Russell still managed to utter four words: "The Soul of the Serpent!"
A surge of primordial power coursed through Russell's body. With a mighty struggle, the giant python sprang away with a thud, and he leaped out of the water and landed on the shore.
The python was injured. Imagine it was using immense force to constrict a person, and suddenly that person unleashed tremendous strength to break free. Both its muscles and scales suffered enormous damage.
Fortunately, Russell's current physical condition is extremely abnormal, otherwise he would have fainted even if he had escaped.
As soon as Russell jumped ashore, he reached for the explosive pistol at his waist and fired a shot at the giant python's head.
His marksmanship was excellent; the shot hit the giant python squarely in the head. With a violent explosion, a large patch of scales on the python's head burst open.
Enraged, the giant python charged at Russell. This time, the shore was its home ground. Just as the python was about to bite, Russell dodged and fired his explosive gun at the python's gaping maw.
With a loud bang, the python's fangs were shattered into pieces.
Russell, having landed a successful blow, did not linger and rushed forward. He understood that to kill the giant python, he had to lure it out and prevent it from getting close to the water, otherwise it would all be in vain. Even if you injured it, it could still escape as long as it hid in the water.
The giant python had no intention of letting Russell go and began its pursuit.
The man and the snake chased each other and soon left the river and entered a swamp.
Russell estimated that they were far enough away from the river, then suddenly turned around and fired several shots at the giant python.
