The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K

Chapter 49 "The Boar Man"?

Since they are subhuman, they must possess considerable intelligence.

Kayans and Russell had a clear objective: to sneak up on the castle, find out the boarmen's troop deployment along the way, and the castle's defensive capabilities.

The roads outside the city were overgrown with weeds that were as tall as a person due to years of neglect.

"Bury the bomb deeper," Russell instructed the two commandos.

Kayans was responsible for setting up road signs and measuring accurate distances.

On the way, they encountered several patrolling boar-men.

This was the first time Russell had ever seen such a subhuman; his overall impression of the boar-men was that they were wild.

It has a huge, fat body, enormous fangs, thick, dark skin covered in wrinkles, and is about 2.5 meters tall. Its limbs are very thick, and it walks very slowly, carrying a huge wooden stick.

In terms of physique, the boarmen are like sumo wrestlers, while the orcs are like bodybuilders.

Russell clicked his tongue in amazement: "These monsters are all so huge, no wonder the humans here are no match for these demi-humans, they are too strong."

Kayans nodded and said: "The two orc boys combined probably only weigh about the same as one boarman. In a one-on-one fight, only the orc warriors can take on a boarman."

“Should we take them out?” Russell suggested.

"Don't alert them yet."

They continued to move forward.

The boarmen were indeed rather dull-witted, failing to spot the Ascended Army soldiers busily working in the grass after several waves of attacks.

"Look, isn't that the castle we're looking for?" Following Russell's finger, Kayans saw a building in the distance.

He took out the map, looked at it, and said: Yes.

"Do we need to go any further?" Russell felt that they shouldn't go any further; they had already located the castle.

Kayans, however, had his own considerations: "We need to move forward. I want to get a clearer view of the situation inside the castle."

"But there will be more and more wild boars ahead, and if they spot us, our situation will become extremely dangerous."

Kayans was well aware of this, but he had to move forward: We must take the risk.

Russell knew he couldn't persuade him, so he could only say: Okay!

Just as Russell had said, the area outside the castle was full of boarmen, making it impossible to get close to the castle.

Seeing this, Kayans was speechless and said: It looks like we have no choice but to go back.

The Star Guardians began a quiet retreat. Just as they were about to turn and leave, a crow-man flew out of the castle.

Because the Arakkoa had a very wide field of vision while flying, it spotted the Asgardian Army hiding in the grass at a glance.

"Caw caw caw..." the crow-man cried out, then flew swiftly toward the location where the Astronauts were hiding.

Russell reacted swiftly, raising the Fire Kirin and shooting it at the Crowman. The laser beam pierced through the Crowman mercilessly.

The crow-man let out a scream and fell to the ground.

The boar-men roared and charged toward the Astronauts' hiding place.

Kayans shouted: Run!

Everyone started running backwards, each one running with all their might, afraid of being trampled into mud by the boar-men.

Russell immediately activated "The Emperor's Blessing" to escape.

In a flash, the real man left Kayans behind. Kayans, not expecting Russell to run away so quickly, shouted: "Wait for me!"

Russell turned his head and glanced at me, then said with a grin, "Ha, you can't catch me."

Kayan gritted his teeth and chased after them with all his might.

The weeds on both sides of the road were quickly left behind, and the fat boarmen behind them couldn't catch up at all as the Astragalus Army sprinted at full speed.

Russell had the best physical attributes and ran the fastest, quickly leaving all the Astronauts behind.

On the surface, Russell was running away, but that wasn't the case. He wanted to quickly get to first place and then face the boar-men in front of him.

Soon a giant boarman discovered the fleeing Asgardian army.

The boar-man roared and turned his massive body to charge at Russell.

Russell quickly slowed his pace, raised the Fire Kirin in his hand, and fired several shots at the ugly face of the boarman. Russell felt that if he shot the boarman's body with the laser, he probably wouldn't be able to kill them in time. The only option was to shoot the boarman's face.

The boar-man screamed in agony as it was burned by the laser, its huge, obese body swaying wildly.

Russell fired again, the laser striking the boarman's belly, burning huge holes in its skin.

The boar-man was in even more pain and threw the wooden stick at Russell.

Russell quickly ducked down, and the huge wooden stick flew over his head.

If that stick had hit him, he would probably have been smashed into a bloody mess.

Russell quickly calmed down and fired a few more shots at the boarman, this time aiming for his knees.

The boar-man's knee was easily pierced by the laser, and unable to support its massive body, it collapsed with a thud.

“The boarman’s weakness is its knees. Take them down first,” Russell shouted as he turned around.

Don't be fooled by Russell's reluctance to approach the boar-man even after it fell; heaven knows how terrifying the power hidden within its arms, which are even thicker than those of orcs.

At that moment, Kayans ran over, panting, and raised his laser gun to shoot at the boar-man lying on the ground.

More and more Astragalus soldiers joined the firing, and the giant boarman was riddled with bullets.

"Don't keep fighting, just take them down. Now is not the time to kill them," Kayans shouted.

Three more boarmen charged at them, this time aiming their laser guns at the boarmen's knees, and all three were easily taken down.

The Astral Army bypassed them and continued their escape.

They ran to the city gate in almost a single breath, and the boar-men gave up the chase.

“Brave one, Russell, I thought you were really going to run away?” Cayans said with a grin.

Russell laughed and said: "Running away is definitely a real escape. I don't want to be trampled into mincemeat."

"I never thought you'd be afraid too?"

"I wouldn't say I'm afraid; the boarmen are much easier to deal with than the orcs."

The two talked as they entered the city.

Back in the operations room, Kayans arranged for someone to summon Maziers and the kingdom's general.

The kingdom's general was a bald, middle-aged man wearing chainmail. He followed behind Mazir without saying a word.

Kayansi glanced at the middle-aged general and said: "General, you often fight against the boar people and know their weaknesses, so what do you think about having you lead the main attack this time?"

The bald, middle-aged general pondered for a moment and said: "Main attack? I don't think we can possibly be a match for the boarmen."

It's clear he doesn't want to fight this war.

"Why?" Kayans asked, puzzled.

"The boarmen's knees are indeed their weak point, but they are difficult to kill, and they recover extremely quickly. My soldiers have done it before."
