On the transport ship bound for Baal, Russell sat quietly in his cabin, gripping the artifact laser gun known as "Fire Kirin." The runes on the gun shimmered faintly in the dim light, as if recounting its former glory. Russell's thoughts, however, were far from calm. Images of the battle against the Zerg replayed in his mind—the reckless charges, the reckless bursts of psionic energy, and the devastating consequences of his own impetuousness.

“I was too hasty…” Russell murmured, a hint of self-reproach in his eyes. Since acquiring golden psionic energy, he had relied on his own power in almost every battle, attempting to overwhelm his enemies with absolute psionic power. However, this reckless behavior not only put him in danger multiple times but also caused Baal's defenders to pay a heavy price.

Arya sat beside him, her psionic tendrils gently wrapped around his wrist, as if soothing his emotions. Her voice was gentle yet firm: "Russell, you've realized the problem, and this is the beginning of change. War is not a one-man battle, but a team effort. Your power is indeed great, but how you use it is the key."

Russell nodded, a thoughtful look in his eyes: "You're right, Arya. I relied too much on golden psionic energy and neglected the importance of tactics and strategy. The Fire Kirin is a divine artifact, but I didn't make good use of it. From now on, I will learn to conceal my strength and unleash it at crucial moments."

Arya smiled slightly, a hint of approval in her eyes: "This is the Russell I know. Your power is the hope of the Empire, but how you use that power will determine whether you can truly change the course of the war."

Russell gripped the Fire Kirin tightly, a resolute glint in his eyes: "I will change. War has no end, and I can no longer fight recklessly. I must learn to conceal myself, make the best use of every bit of strength, and strive for more victories for the Empire."

The transport ship slowly landed at Baal's temporary base. Russell and Arya stepped out of the hatch, where they were greeted by Cato Sicarius and Dante. Cato wore a teasing smile: "Russell, I heard you met Lord Guilliman on Terra? Didn't he scare you?"

Russell smiled slightly, a hint of confidence in his eyes: "Lord Guilliman has given me a lot of inspiration. I have decided to change my fighting style and no longer rely on brute force."

Dante's eyes held a hint of approval: "Very good, Russell. Your growth is gratifying. Baal's battle needs your strength, but even more so, it needs your wisdom."

Russell nodded, a hint of determination in his eyes: "I will, Lord Dante. From now on, I will be more cautious and make good use of every bit of power."

Russell stood in the center of the Cardian Legion's position, his figure strikingly visible in the afterglow of the setting sun. His blue power armor was stained with the marks of battle, the Bloodthirster entrenching tool and the Saint Gilles Blade at his waist gleamed faintly, and the Emperor's Blessing amulet on his chest emitted a subtle psionic fluctuation in the sunlight. In his hand he gripped the Fire Kirin Laser Gun, the runes on its blade flickering in the dim light, as if recounting its former glory.

Although Russell's attire was no different from that of a Space Marine, his demeanor was entirely different from that of an ordinary soldier. His gaze was deep and unwavering, as if he could see through every corner of the battlefield. Golden psionic energy surged within him, and although he decided to conceal his strength, the invisible pressure still instilled awe in the surrounding soldiers.

Arya stood beside Russell, her psionic shield shimmering a pale blue light in the setting sun. Her gaze was gentle yet resolute, silently supporting Russell. Her presence gave Russell an unprecedented sense of security.

The soldiers of the Cadian Legion stood around Russell and Arya, their eyes filled with admiration and anticipation. Russell's name had spread throughout the Empire; his golden psionic powers and heroic deeds had become a source of hope for the soldiers.

"Lord Russell, the Zerg attack has begun again!" A Cardian officer rushed over, his voice tinged with anxiety.

Russell nodded, a hint of calm in his eyes: "According to the plan, consolidate the defensive line and use the terrain to your advantage. I will intervene at the crucial moment."

The officer saluted and quickly turned to relay the order. Russell gazed at the distant swarm of insects, a complex mix of emotions welling up within him. He knew this battle would be a grueling test, but he was prepared.

Arya's voice came softly: "Russell, are you sure you want to hide your power? There are too many Zerg, we might need your golden psionic energy."

Russell smiled slightly, a hint of confidence in his eyes: "Don't worry, Arya. I will step in at the crucial moment. But for now, we need to lower the Zerg's guard."

The battle horns sounded once more, and the Zerg vanguard surged in like a black tide. The soldiers of the Cadian Legion swiftly deployed their defenses, their bombardment and laser cannon fire weaving a dense net of fire in the air. Zerg blade-bugs and gun-bugs fell one after another in the barrage, but their sheer numbers were overwhelming, and the defensive line remained shaky.

Russell stood in the center of the position, his Fire Kirin laser gun steadily aimed at the distant Zerg. His gaze was calm and sharp, each shot hitting the Zerg's vitals with precision. His movements were fluid and swift, like a sophisticated war machine.

Arya's psionic shield remained constantly around Russell, and her psionic storm raged through the swarm, buying him time. Her gaze held a hint of worry, but even more so, unwavering determination.

"Russell, there's a giant knife worm on the left!" Arya's voice came through.

Russell swiftly turned, his Fire Kirin laser gun unleashing a scorching laser beam that burned through the giant blade insect's carapace. His movements were clean and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.

The battle lasted for several hours, and the Zerg offensive was finally temporarily halted. Russell stood in the center of the position, his eyes showing a hint of fatigue, but even more so, determination. He knew that this battle was only the beginning; the real test was yet to come.

"Russell, you did very well," Arya's voice came softly, her eyes filled with approval.

Russell smiled slightly, a hint of gratitude in his eyes: "Thank you, Arya. With you here, I feel that everything has become simpler."

However, this time, he will not act rashly.

He chose to do this with another goal in mind: to quickly upgrade the Fire Kirin to a Tier 3 weapon, because the power of a Tier 2 weapon was clearly insufficient.
