Chapter 30 Orc Invasion
Like a tidal wave, the orcish junk warships surged toward the Imperial Navy's escort ships.
Every Imperial Navy commander dreads fighting the Orcs in space. The Empire's ships, whether cruisers, frigates, destroyers, or strategic ships, are all incredibly valuable, making the Orcs' junk ships utterly worthless in comparison.
Orcs are as worthless as insects, and orc junk ships are as worthless as orcs themselves.
Defeating them in space would be a piece of cake for the Imperial Navy, but intercepting them would be an impossible task. No commander wanted their ships to collide with space debris.
Helpless, the Imperial Navy commander could only order that anything that could be destroyed be destroyed, and that any space debris that could not be destroyed be allowed to break through the blockade.
Countless fireballs rained down on planet 773, creating huge craters in the ground.
These are not fireballs, but rather a series of strangely shaped space capsules.
When the spacecraft crashed into the ground, the orcs inside were stunned and disoriented. As soon as the hatch opened, the orcs tumbled and scrambled out. Just as the orcs rushed out, the spacecraft exploded violently. Some orcs who couldn't get out were blown to pieces, while others didn't even have a chance to escape before being blasted into the air.
Thus, before the orcs even saw the enemy, more than half of them had already committed suicide.
The orcs who were lucky enough not to commit suicide were all aimlessly wandering around.
…………
Russell was leading his men to search for the remaining orcs when he looked up and saw fireballs appearing in the sky. He frowned slightly, wondering, "What's going on?"
“Captain Russell, Captain Russell,” Borg’s voice rang out.
“Received, Commander,” Russell replied.
"A massive number of orcs have broken through the navy's blockade and are about to land on planet 773. There may be quite a few orcs landing there as well, so be careful."
"Understood, Commander. I have spotted the orc's spacecraft. I will have the warriors assemble and intercept the orcs immediately."
"If there are only a few orcs landing, just eliminate them. If there are a large number of orcs, don't fight them head-on, retreat to the defensive fortress."
"Understood, Commander."
After the call ended, Russell immediately told the Kadian warriors beside him: "Pass the word that the search mission is suspended. Everyone assemble and wait for the orcs to land."
A strangely shaped space capsule crashed into several towering trees before slamming heavily onto a giant rock.
With a loud "boom," the space capsule exploded, blasting a large number of orcs inside into pieces.
The Kadian warriors were stunned by what they saw; they were ready to fire but hadn't expected this to happen.
More and more bizarre space capsules landed on the ground, and as soon as the hatches opened, a group of orcs rushed out.
"Kill them!" Russell immediately gave the order.
And immediately fired a shot, the laser piercing through the head of an orc.
The bewildered orc went to see Brother Gao Mao before he even understood what was going on.
Immediately afterwards, countless lasers shot out simultaneously, killing all the unsuspecting orcs.
Although the Kadian warriors were shooting at the orcs with all their might, the terrifying descent speed made the orcs seem inexhaustible.
These orc lads, who had just landed, seemed to have been driven mad with pent-up energy. When they saw any human creatures, they charged forward with howls, eager for a good fight.
These guys have no armor, only strong muscles, but strong muscles can't withstand the laser gun's fire; the laser mercilessly pierces through them.
Russell's Fire Kirin fired almost non-stop, killing one orc boy after another. He collected fragments of the Great Muscle Giant, which made him increasingly excited. Before he knew it, the battery was depleted.
He pulled the trigger several times but failed to fire the laser. Realizing he was out of batteries, he quickly ran to the supply point, grabbed a few batteries, and then ran back to continue firing.
As more and more orcs landed, the number of elite units among them also increased, including orc marksmen, orc warriors, orc hunks, and so on.
"Captain Russell, we're surrounded!" a Cadian warrior anxiously warned Russell, who was still firing wildly and completely oblivious to his surroundings.
After being reminded by the soldier, Russell quickly stopped firing and looked around. Sure enough, they were now surrounded by orcs.
“Commander Borg, we are surrounded by orcs and need to evacuate.”
"Captain Russell, tell me what's going on your end?"
"There are more and more orcs, and our situation here is extremely critical. We cannot rely on breaking out to leave this place."
"Received, I will send a transport plane to pick you up immediately."
After the call ended, Russell quickly addressed the Cardian warriors: "Attention everyone, we need to conserve ammunition and wait for reinforcements."
The orcs' charge grew increasingly fierce, surging forward like a tidal wave.
Countless towering, shield-wielding orc warriors appeared on the battlefield at some unknown time; their massive shields were completely capable of blocking laser beams.
"Don't waste bullets on shields. Try to shoot the orcs without shields, and use grenades on the shielded orcs," Russell said as he fired.
The shield-bearing orcs attacked quickly, and soon they were upon them. When Russell felt they were at a safe distance, he immediately shouted: "Grenades!"
At this point, they didn't care what kind of grenades they were; they threw out all sorts of them: explosive grenades, stun grenades, fragmentation grenades, and flashbang grenades.
Explosions rang out incessantly, sending shield-wielding orc warriors flying one after another, while the orc warriors behind them also suffered heavy losses.
"Roar!" After a huge roar, an orc cavalryman charged forward.
The "jumping" mentioned here refers to "Sgug," a red-skinned monster with a mouth full of fangs, a large mouth, a large tail, and two particularly thick thighs, making it very adept at jumping. A strong orc rides on top of the Sgug, holding an unidentified giant pistol and with a large cleaver hanging at his waist.
The orc cavalrymen leaped into the Kadian warriors' defensive line in a few bounds, their massive pistols firing incessantly. Explosions rang out, and countless Kadian warriors were blasted to the ground, creating a breach in the tight defense.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, a dozen orc warriors rushed forward, cutting through the enemy lines and engaging in indiscriminate slaughter.
The Kadian warriors were caught off guard and suffered heavy losses in an instant.
