The strongest astral army in Warhammer 40K

Chapter 16 The Moment of Slaughter

The samurai insect swung its forelegs left and right, slaughtering the knights as easily as chopping melons and vegetables.

A vacuum zone was cleared out, and the ground was littered with the corpses of knights or spearmen.

The warrior insect roared to the sky.

Fifty heavily armored knights charged straight at it, and the four-meter-long horse stalk pierced directly through the samurai insect's abdomen, its carapace unable to stop the horse stalk's thrust.

Ma Shuo's spearhead, under the full force of the heavy cavalry's charge, was no less penetrating than a bomb gun.

The Warrior Bug is an elite unit of the Zerg, and the loss of even one is a huge blow to the Zerg. However, the Knights are not an elite unit under Commissar Kane. Even if one hundred Knights were exchanged for one Warrior Bug, it would be worthwhile for Kane.

Just as the Blade Insects were about to breach the defenses, the Star Warriors, who had been waiting impatiently, let out a deafening roar.

The Star Warriors are an organization under the Star Knights, and also the most elite infantry warriors. Because they are infantry, their size is ten times that of the Star Knights.

The Star Knights, at full strength, consist of only 500 men, while the Star Warriors have a regular strength of 5,000 men.

The Star Warriors all wore uniform equipment: heavy plate armor and massive two-handed axes.

"For the King!" shouted the Star Warrior as he charged toward the insects.

The clash between giant axes and sharp claws resulted in the most brutal carnage on the battlefield.

"Sir, shouldn't we make a move?" Russell asked Commissar Kane.

Commissar Kane smiled and said: It's not time yet, let's wait patiently.

Russell hesitated for a moment before stepping back.

The hand that had been gripping the Fire Qilin loosened.

All the Astronauts were already bursting with excitement, their hearts pounding with anticipation, eager to join the battle.

From dawn till dusk, the battlefield showed no signs of quieting down, with more and more insects and steel legions clashing fiercely.

Russell glanced at the dwindling Iron Legion and knew the Astronauts were about to enter the fray.

"Thunder Fighters, prepare for action!" Commissar Kane coldly commanded.

"Roger that, sir. Thunder fighters will be deployed immediately."

Five Thunder fighter jets roared across the night sky without any explosions. Their purpose was not to bomb, but to continuously drop kerosene from the air.

The steel legion and the insects, locked in fierce battle, were unaware that a light kerosene rain was falling behind them.

Half an hour later, the five Thunder fighter jets had exhausted all the kerosene.

"Sir, the kerosene has been completely evaporated. Requesting instructions."

"Fire incendiary bombs!"

Five incendiary bombs were launched, and flames instantly rose from the ground.

Hundreds of millions of Splitters are devouring the corpses of humans and Zerg.

They are the best fuel when the flames are lit.

Only fire can purify insects; Commissar Kane had long understood this principle.

The insects were terrified of fire. When the fire started, fear enveloped them, making them lose their will to fight and causing them to flee in all directions. This gave the steel legion a good opportunity to launch a full-scale counterattack and slaughter the insects.

Flames shot into the sky, and Commissar Kane smiled happily and said: We have successfully achieved two strategic objectives. Now it's time to completely eliminate the insects.

The first of the two strategic objectives mentioned by Commissar Kane was the "Destroyer Missile," which nearly wiped out the Zerg's air units, thus preventing the Gargoyles from joining the battle this time. The second strategic objective was this fire. Commissar Kane knew that as long as the Zerg had biomass, they would continuously produce Bladebugs and Gunbugs—low-tier warriors—making the war endless. Ultimately, the Zerg would win due to their numerical advantage. However, this fire killed hundreds of millions of Splitters, disrupting the Zerg's biomass recycling plan. To attract more Splitters to devour the biomass, Commissar Kane chose to have the natives fight the Zerg head-on. The corpses in the sea would naturally attract more Splitters. It must be said that Commissar Kane's plan was very smooth and successful.

After the Zerg were wiped out by the Iron Legion, all the warriors of the Iron Legion cheered loudly.

"They're really good. Should we take them with us to tomorrow's battle?" A political commissar sincerely praised the Steel Legion, while also reminding Commissar Kane.

Commissar Kane smiled and said: They don't need to participate in tomorrow's battle.

…………

Five Thunder fighters, loaded with molten bombs, flew toward the forest. Although they had dealt two heavy blows to the Zerg, the remaining Zerg were still numerous. The Thunder fighters quickly spotted their target and dropped the molten bombs downwards.

The roar of the fighter jets startled the insects, and the knife insects roared in anger.

With a deafening roar, a wave of heat swept in, and the knife insects fled in all directions, but no matter how they tried to escape, they could not avoid their fate of turning into dust.

The sounds of explosions continued as hot-melt bombs were dropped, annihilating a massive number of insects.

After the bombing, a dozen or so armed combat vehicles sped over.

All the fierce men of the Catachan on this planet are involved in this battle.

The forest had been bombed beyond recognition, with craters everywhere, the corpses of knife worms, and occasionally a few Licat corpses.

"Quick, there are bugs ahead!" Zog shouted excitedly.

Yesterday's battle had made these Katachan warriors extremely envious. They really wanted to show off in front of these natives, but unfortunately, the political commissar wouldn't let them participate. Today, they were determined to kill the bugs to their heart's content.

When the insects discovered the armed combat vehicle, they behaved differently than before and quickly fled.

"Trying to run! No way!" Zog roared, turning the heavy Gatling gun around and unleashing a barrage of fire at the fleeing insects.

As the armored fighting vehicle went deeper, the number of insects increased, but they showed no fighting spirit and turned to flee.

"These bugs are terrified, they've all become cowards," the burly man driving the car, Qatar, laughed heartily.

"Then let's catch up with them and kill these cowards."

Compared to the wild car chases of the Qatari men, the main force marched at a very slow pace.

A dozen or so Rhino tanks led the way, followed by thousands of Star Guardians.

Commissar Kane and several other commissars were sitting in a jeep.

Russell looked around and found no trace of insects.

Everywhere there were broken trees, huge craters, dead insects, and tire tracks from armored fighting vehicles.

The sound of heavy Gatling guns echoed in the distance, indicating that the Catachan men were engaged in a fierce battle.

And indeed, the Katachon strongmen encountered resistance, and what stopped them was not the knife worms but swarms of gun worms.

The cunning gun bugs hid behind big trees or in pits, constantly firing live bullets at the men of Katachon.
