Yan Zhihe felt it was bad to talk about someone behind their back, so he pulled him aside.

The man continued talking, and the guys around him, some of whom had never achieved anything and were just getting impatient waiting for Lu Mingyuan, started to chime in with his words.

Not to mention that this guy was deliberately being extra loud.

Yan Yun looked up at Yan Zhihe beside him. When they met eyes, Yan Zhihe nodded awkwardly. He had always known that Zheng Jihua, who was behind Yan Yun, was not someone they could afford to offend.

He was about to call out to the people around him to stop talking.

Before the man could shut up...

Yan Yun had already walked up to him, and she stepped on his foot with a hateful force.

The other person immediately jumped up and hurled insults at Yan Yun, "How can you be so blind? You deliberately stepped on my foot?"

The moment he uttered those words.

Yan Yun's attendant took the sword from his waist, still in its sheath, and slapped the talkative man across the face.

One of the opponent's teeth was knocked out by this blow.

Yan Yun was somewhat shocked. She turned to look at her attendants, and was surprised to find that they were incredibly strong.

The attendant, his face cold, spoke to the man who was still rambling incoherently, "If you continue to speak disrespectfully to our young lady, don't blame us for taking further action."

The man who had been covering his mouth clenched his fist instantly, as if he was about to rush forward.

Yan Zhihe, who was standing nearby, quickly grabbed him.

"Stop it, don't cause any more trouble."

After speaking of his accomplice, he helped the other man up and looked at Yan Yun to apologize, "Miss Zheng, please forgive this person for his petty mistake."

His companions, still unconvinced by Yan Zhihe's words, were about to speak to Yan Yun when Yan Zhihe, sensing their intention to continue, quietly apologized, "I'm sorry." He then braced himself against Yan Yun's arm and punched him in the stomach.

Two consecutive blows.

That guy could only shut up in embarrassment.

Yan Zhihe steadied himself and apologized to Yan Yun, "I'm sorry to have troubled you, Miss."

Since Yan Zhihe had already taught that guy a lesson, Yan Yun didn't plan to do anything else. She pressed down on the arm of her attendant that was holding the sword, and the attendant didn't make any more moves.

The retinue has already demonstrated its intimidating power.

The people around immediately shut up.

After they quieted down.

Yan Yun walked past Yan Zhihe and headed towards his academy.

Once Yan Yun had walked away, the whispers among those who had witnessed what had just happened actually increased.

Yan Zhihe looked at his companions.

"Sorry."

When Yan Yun arrived at the academy, there were still carriages continuously transporting goods to the outside.

Inside the academy, the man who had met Yan Yun before immediately recognized her and came forward to greet her.

"Miss, what brings you here?"

Yan Yun only glanced at him.

The other party thought he had mispronounced the name. Remembering what Zheng Jihua had said earlier, although it was a joke, he looked around and found that there was no one else. He then said to Yan Yun, "Ms. Ning, did you come to the academy for something? If you want to do anything, you can tell me and I will arrange it for you. After all, I am here to take care of Miss and guard this place. My name is Lao He."

His sycophancy was nothing more than a pretense to curry favor with Yan Yun, much like Zheng Jihua's.

Yan Yun pushed him away and looked at the plaque that had been removed earlier.

"Miss, don't worry, the craftsman is working hard to finish the plaque. It will be hung up for you as soon as possible, just as Lord Zheng said."

Yan Yun walked into the academy.

The man followed closely behind.

Among the items brought in from the carriage were many books, as well as a table and a screen.

There were already many books in this book garden before, but they were piled up messily and covered in a thick layer of dust.

Yan Yun reached out and simply touched it.

My fingers were covered in a thick layer of dust.

Old He took the handkerchief and handed it to Yan Yunni: "Miss, the books that were covered in dust have already been cleaned up. Why don't you go for a walk in the backyard? The front is still being tidied up, and the dust is heavy. Don't inhale it."

He is considerate, though.

Yan Yun hadn't had a good look at the layout of this academy last time, but this time he could take a closer look.

This academy is much larger than the courtyards I've seen before; it's like a luxurious mansion.

Yan Yun followed Lao He around the academy, and chose an empty room. She looked at Lao He who was following her and simply pointed to the room.

The attendant, however, stood to the side and, understanding the unspoken message, asked Yan Yun, "Miss, have you chosen this room?"

Yan Yun nodded. He spent all his time in the courtyard, watching nothing more than the dirty tricks of his concubines.

She wanted to prepare a room in the academy so that she could come here when she didn't want to stay in Zheng's courtyard.

Yan Yun went inside and looked around; there were quite a few books inside.

Thinking of the tables I saw inside the Baozhai Pavilion, these desks were so old and worn out.

Yan Yun pointed to the tables.

"Don't worry, Miss. I've already told you that all these desks will be replaced with new ones. Come back in two days, and this place will be completely new."

Yan Yun thought about the things that were sent from outside, and figured they were probably being delivered to these places as well.

She looked around the house and was quite satisfied. She could see the flowers and plants in the yard from the window, and there was no Zheng Jihua or his concubine there.

Yan Yun left the house and returned to the front of the academy.

As it turned out, Old He, who claimed to be the one organizing, had actually left all the books outside the door.

Yan Yun looked at the scrolls.

Old He stood beside him and explained, "Those scrolls are too old, some of them are infested with insects. We can't let them frighten Miss, so they will all be destroyed."

Upon hearing the word "destroy," Yan Yun looked at the scrolls, rolled up his sleeves, and was about to take them.

The person following behind cried out in alarm.

"Miss, you mustn't touch these things."

Yan Yun's husband was Mr. Shu. Even though he has passed away, Yan Yun still remembers that Mr. Shu was an extremely book-loving person.

If Mr. Shu had seen these books, he certainly wouldn't have allowed them to be treated this way.

Because they have been infested with insects, they need to be thrown away.

Yan Yun looked at the person beside him. Since he was from the Academy, it was clear that he had never cared about the Academy.

These scrolls are by no means useless.

Yan Yun took the books back into the library, and her attendants followed immediately. As Yan Yun picked up the books one by one and put them back, she carefully cleaned all the dust off them.

The servants ordered the person to be thrown out.

"Follow Miss and bring them all back."

Old He was also very anxious, and looked at Yan Yun and said, "Miss, please don't continue to do this."

Yan Yun ignored the advice, took a burlap sack from someone nearby, and gently wiped the dust off the books. After cleaning one book, he neatly placed the scrolls on the bookshelf.

She did it very seriously.

Unfortunately, the guy following him suffered. He never liked these old things; they smelled bad and were all left behind by his dead father.

Although Zheng Jihua bought the house, he never expected that it would still be turned into an academy.

He had intended to destroy these old things, but now not only were they not destroyed, the young lady was busy cleaning them up in front of him.

If that person finds out.

Old He vented his anger on the people around him: "What are you all doing? Didn't you see that Miss was cleaning up by herself?"

The people around her came over and immediately offered to help Yan Yun. However, even with their help, Yan Yun insisted on doing things herself, personally handling and repackaging each book.

As for the ones organized by others, they were placed on a separate bookshelf.

Old He stood beside Yan Yun and began to ramble on and on, trying to defend himself.

"Miss, it's not that I'm not going to do it."

Yan Yun waved his hand at him, meaning that he should stop bothering him.

These books are the most precious things; we mustn't let these people ruin them.

Yan Yun stayed at the academy with those guys until the afternoon, but they had only sorted out less than a tenth of the entire scroll.

Yan Yun got up, planning to come again tomorrow. Before leaving, she even wrote a warning to that guy: if the things she had packed were gone tomorrow, she would make Zheng Jihua teach him a lesson.

After reading it, the other party looked very worried.

He was clearly doing it for the young lady's own good, but he was scolded by the little maid, who even brought up Zheng Jihua to threaten him. She really is Zheng Jihua's daughter.

"Miss, we won't touch any of these things. We'll wait until you come tomorrow and give us your instructions before we move them."

That's right.

Yan Yun remembered Zheng Jihua saying that the academy had already been given to him, so it was now his.

Although those books did have a strong smell, they would get better after being aired out in the sun.

The attendant calculated the time.

"Miss, it's time to go back."
