The Book Soul Chronicles: Godslayer
Chapter 100 A coincidence
After Ye Qingyang narrowly escaped with the treasure, he quickly left and, by chance, found a natural cave.
After killing Hu An, Ye Qingyang, fearing trouble, planned to head deeper into the mountains to find a suitable place for seclusion. He hoped to learn some of the cultivation techniques he had seen in Hu An's storage bag and some life-saving skills.
After all, most of the cultivation techniques he learned were suitable for mortals, which might be enough for mortals, but not enough for cultivators. The reason he was able to kill Hu An was because Hu An's cultivation level was lower than his own, and Hu An's old injuries had not yet healed, which allowed him to get away with it.
Ye Qingyang's lack of personal strength was the main reason for his seclusion. Another reason was to avoid disaster, since he knew too little about cultivation. There were all sorts of strange and wonderful cultivation methods, and some people might have placed some special spells on Hu An, so that the other party would sense his death.
Although Ye Qingyang burned Hu An's body to ashes and then used a wind-controlling spell to scatter his ashes, no one knew what might happen. For safety reasons, he decided to lay low for a while.
Ye Qingyang walked deeper into the forest, passing through dense woods, as if entering a secluded world. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating dappled patterns of light and shadow.
The air was filled with a damp scent, a mixture of earth and grass. A thick carpet of fallen leaves lay beneath my feet, making a crisp sound as I stepped on them.
The trees were tall and ancient, their roots reaching deep into the ground, their canopies blocking out the sky. Ye Qingyang walked along a path, the bushes growing intertwined on either side, branches occasionally brushing against his arm. The calls of birds drifted from afar, but he couldn't see them. All around was quiet, accompanied only by the sounds of nature.
Continuing deeper, Ye Qingyang arrived at a small, open meadow. Various wildflowers grew on the meadow, their vibrant colors creating a magnificent scene, like a beautiful painting.
Ahead was a towering peak that plunged into the sea of clouds. In front of the peak was a cascading waterfall that made a deafening sound. Ye Qingyang walked to the pool below the waterfall. The water rippled and sparkled in the sunlight. He squatted down, touched the cool water with his hands, and carefully scooped it up and put it in his mouth.
After he had drunk his fill, a satisfied smile appeared on his face. He shook the water droplets off his hands and looked up at the waterfall. He noticed something different about the middle section of the waterfall. He looked closely and, sure enough, saw something different through a gap in the waterfall.
"That looks like a hole!"
Ye Qingyang released his divine sense to investigate, but found that his divine sense seemed to be interfered with. It looked no different from the surrounding rock walls, but Ye Qingyang had grown up in the mountains since he was a child, and he was certain that it must be a cave.
This cave is indeed a secluded and ideal place for him to retreat into seclusion. He just doesn't know if anyone knows about this cave, or what the specific situation inside is. He still needs to investigate it carefully.
Upon entering the cave, Ye Qingyang discovered that it was indeed extremely well-hidden, seemingly concealed by a waterfall. If one were not someone who had lived deep in the mountains for many years and possessed a keen mind, one would not have been easily discovered.
There were no signs of wild animals inside the cave, only a skeleton lying in the center. The skeleton was dressed in a tattered Taoist robe, and several magical artifacts were scattered around it, clearly indicating that it had been a cultivator in life.
A faint light shimmered from the skeletal hand bones, as if residual spiritual energy still lingered. Ye Qingyang cautiously approached, examining the mysterious skeleton.
He noticed a strange rune on the forehead of the skeleton, as if it contained some kind of powerful force. Just as Ye Qingyang was pondering this, a beam of light suddenly shot out from the rune and went straight into his brow.
In an instant, he felt an ancient and mysterious aura surge into his heart, and an unfamiliar cultivation method appeared in his mind.
