The Book Soul Chronicles: Godslayer
Chapter 1 First Arrival in the World of Cultivation
At this moment, in the endless void, a black spirit, faintly visible, semi-transparent, and with a shape that could be vaguely discerned, suddenly opened its eyes, and an incomparably powerful pressure swept over like a storm.
The mysterious being murmured to himself, "It seems everything has stabilized. It's time for me to make my move!" Before he finished speaking, he waved his arm, and the space in front of him was easily torn apart as if it were made of paper, revealing a deep, dark rift.
Immediately afterwards, the dark figure floated into the crack without hesitation.
Once inside the rift, it was pitch black, but you could see many objects floating around that were shimmering with light and radiating heat.
Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that they were actually countless glittering planets.
Just as the shadowy figure was curiously looking around, a circular portal radiating a dazzling white light suddenly appeared directly in front of it. The shadowy figure instantly noticed this change and immediately adjusted its direction, drifting towards it.
Unexpectedly, the portal of light sped forward at an incredible speed, as if deliberately trying to evade the shadowy figure. The shadowy figure was momentarily startled, but then immediately accelerated to give chase.
As the distance between them drew ever closer, just as they were about to reach the portal, the shadowy figure suddenly felt an irresistible, immense suction force emanating from it. The next moment, it was forcefully sucked into the portal like a cannonball. In an instant, the once-complete shadowy figure transformed into a dense cloud of black mist.
Indeed, that ghostly figure was Mo Qian. After witnessing the decline of the Great Sheng Kingdom, he was overwhelmed with shock, causing his breathing to become disordered.
So, following his deepest intuition, he floated into the endless void and fell into a long slumber.
After an unknown amount of time, Mo Qian finally awoke from his deep sleep.
However, he did not rush to other spatial dimensions, but instead began to carefully examine himself.
After some exploration, he was surprised to find that he was able to condense the basic outline of a spirit!
What excited him even more was that he realized his power seemed to originate from people's desires.
So, if desires are endless, does that mean they will last forever?
However, this was merely his personal deduction. Besides this, Mo Qian made another astonishing discovery: this void seemed to possess a magical ability to absorb surrounding desires and transform them into energy beneficial to his cultivation.
Moreover, no matter where he is, as long as he has a thought, he can easily return to this place by relying on his instincts.
These novel discoveries filled Mo Qian with anticipation for the future and also aroused his deeper desire for exploration.
In this mysterious void, what unexpected adventures and gains will he encounter? And how will he use the power he possesses to write his own legendary story? Everything is unknown, waiting for Mo Qian to reveal the truth…
After a long while, the dazzling white light gradually dissipated, and Mo Qian finally appeared atop a towering, precipitous mountain.
At this moment, he had already returned to his ethereal and agile spiritual state, completely concealing his aura. Just then, a clear and unrestrained laugh suddenly came from above, reaching Mo Qian's keen ears.
He couldn't help but feel curious, so he immediately looked up and followed the sound. He saw many graceful and handsome male and female immortals riding all kinds of flying swords, freely shuttling and soaring through the air. The scene was quite lively.
Among the group, a young boy dressed in a light green Taoist robe stood out. He had a delicate bamboo-shaped light green jade hairpin in his hair to secure his bun, and he looked handsome and charming.
The young boy seemed quite mischievous and was looking at another boy next to him with a smug expression, dressed in the same clothes but with a more refined and dignified demeanor, saying, "Zixu, look how amazing I am! I was able to master the flying sword so skillfully and fly freely in less than two hours!"
The boy, known as Zixu, replied with a helpless smile, "Zisheng, you are indeed very clever and quick-witted, able to grasp the essence of sword control in such a short time."
The young boy, a confident smile on his face, replied, "Of course! You've already mastered sword control, which proves we're evenly matched. How about we have a spectacular match another day?" His eyes were full of provocation and anticipation.
The boy looked at the young boy with the same gaze one would give an innocent child, a slight smile playing on his lips, and slowly nodded in reply, "In that case, let's do as you say!"
Upon hearing this, the young boy beamed with joy and immediately steered his flying sword forward at breakneck speed. Seeing this, the other boy couldn't help but smile and followed closely behind, shaking his head and swaying back and forth.
Mo Qian finally recognized the young boy as the source of the laughter he had heard when he first arrived. He gazed in the direction the two had gone and murmured to himself, "It seems this world is quite interesting. I wonder if it will bring me any unexpected surprises!" With that, his figure flashed and disappeared from the spot.
Just then, a shout rang out: "Fellow disciples, today's sword control technique training shall end here!"
Just then, streaks of sword light flashed in the sky, and those who had been flying on their swords all changed direction and sped towards the source of the sound. All eyes converged on the spot.
A young man dressed in a light gray Taoist robe stood with his hands behind his back. His face was as handsome as a figure in a painting, with graceful bearing and extraordinary demeanor. A jade hairpin held his long hair up high, further emphasizing his elegant and unrestrained appearance.
The young man said slowly, “My fellow disciples are all exceptionally talented and most of you have already begun to master flying swords. However, sword control is the most crucial foundation of cultivation. Whether you are going out to train or fighting demons, you must use it with ease.”
"I am very pleased to see that some of my junior brothers and sisters have already mastered it. As for those who have not yet fully grasped it, they need not be discouraged. They just need to keep trying and practice diligently. In time, they will surely be able to do it with ease."
"If you still have any questions about the Sword Control Technique, you are welcome to discuss it with me privately at any time, or you can ask the elders, senior brothers and sisters in the sect for guidance."
After he finished speaking, all the disciples present responded in unison: "We will follow our Third Senior Brother's teachings!" Their voices shook the heavens and echoed for a long time.
The young man nodded slightly and said softly, "Everyone, go back and rest!" After saying that, he turned and walked away.
Mo Qian quietly watched the young man's figure gradually disappear into the distance, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes, before he followed closely behind.
The two traveled for nearly half an hour, turning left and right, before finally stopping in front of a magnificent hall.
Along the way, Mo Qian did not see any disciple use the sword control technique. He couldn't help but wonder if this sect had some kind of rule that the sword control technique could not be used freely in other parts of the sect except in specific places.
Just as Mo Qian was deep in thought, the young man suddenly spoke, abruptly pulling him back to reality. The young man said loudly, "Disciple Yu Xiheng requests an audience!" It turned out that this person was named Yu Xiheng, and was the direct disciple of the Third Elder Qingyan.
A majestic, deep, and resonant voice echoed from within the hall: "Come in!"
Immediately afterward, Yu Xiheng strode into the main hall with steady steps. As soon as his figure disappeared through the doorway, Mo Qian followed him to the spot where Yu Xiheng had been standing.
Looking up, he saw a huge plaque hanging high above his head, with the three characters "Council Hall" written in powerful strokes. These three characters were as lively as dragons and phoenixes dancing, yet they also revealed an indescribable sense of authority. Mo Qian stared at it for a moment, took a deep breath, and then stepped into the hall.
As soon as Mo Qian stepped into the main hall, he heard a joyful shout: "The sect leader said that Senior Brother has returned from Lingze? He will be back in Dao Sect in a few days!" Although he had not yet seen the speaker, Mo Qian was certain that the voice belonged to Yu Xiheng based solely on the familiar tone.
"Yes! Not long ago, there were frequent incidents of demons harming people in the human world. The emperors of Yue Ling Kingdom and Xi Chen Kingdom joined forces with a group of smaller countries and sent out a distress signal to various sects. The major sects responded one after another, sending their experts to subdue the demons and help the court restore order to the human world."
At this moment, an elderly man dressed in a gray-blue Taoist robe appeared, holding a black Taoist hairpin in his hand, neatly coiling his full head of white hair. The old man's eyes were kind and full of immortality, as if he had experienced many vicissitudes but still adhered to the righteous path. He was the leader of the Taoist sect - Qingfeng.
Just as Mo Qian was carefully examining the old man, another voice suddenly rang out: "With this turmoil in the human world, I'm afraid the demon race and the demon clan are already unable to hold back and may be secretly plotting some conspiracy."
The person who spoke appeared to be relatively young, dressed in a black-gray Taoist robe, with a few strands of silver hair hanging down at his temples, neatly combed with a seven-star lightning-struck wooden hairpin.
His voice was serious and authoritative, inspiring awe in all who heard it. This man was Qingyan, the Third Elder who assisted the sect leader in managing the disciples of the Dao Sect, and also Yu Xiheng's master.
Qingfeng then said, "I think so too, which is why I sent Bingwen to Lingze to investigate. The Lingze area has a dangerous terrain and a harsh environment, filled with deadly miasma, forming a natural protective barrier."
“Under normal circumstances, few cultivators dare to venture into this place. Over time, it has become a habitat for many demons and monsters. Among these demons are many powerful ones, and fierce battles often break out between them, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides.”
"Later, the demon race and the monster race each made concessions and decided to jointly manage Lingze. However, the relationship between the two races was only superficially harmonious. Behind this false peace, serious disagreements had actually arisen due to the struggle for limited resources and living space, and the races gradually split into different forces."
"However, when faced with the resources and living space of the human race, the demon and monster races have maintained a rare consensus—filled with greed and covetousness!"
"They even tried to unite and attack the human race. If the Demon Emperor and the Demon King hadn't been sealed away back then, we humans probably wouldn't have been able to maintain our peaceful life for the past few hundred years."
"However, it is foreseeable that the demon and monster races will not give up easily. They will definitely try every means to break the seal and make a comeback. This incident is probably just the beginning..."
As soon as the words were spoken, a deathly silence fell over the council hall. Everyone looked at each other, their hearts heavy.
After a while, Qingfeng seemed to remember something and suddenly turned to Yu Xiheng and asked, "By the way, how are the new disciples progressing in their cultivation?" His eyes revealed a hint of concern.
Yu Xiheng respectfully replied, "Reporting to the sect leader, the newly admitted disciples are all gifted and exceptionally talented. They are not only extremely diligent, cultivating day and night, but also demonstrate astonishing talent and perseverance in the art of sword control."
"Currently, most disciples have grasped the essence of sword control, and some of the best are even able to skillfully wield flying swords with ease."
Qingfeng's face lit up with joy. He nodded slightly to show his satisfaction and said slowly, "That's very good. The heavy responsibility of protecting the righteous path and saving the common people will be entrusted to your shoulders in the future. We old folks can rest assured now!" After speaking, he looked around and noticed that the elders also showed joy and relief on their faces.
At this moment, Yu Xiheng bowed respectfully, his attitude solemn and serious, and said in a loud voice: "I am deeply grateful for the kindness and trust shown to me by the sect leader, my master, and all my senior uncles. I will remember this in my heart, follow your teachings, and never forget my mission."
"I will do my utmost to supervise the disciples in my sect to cultivate diligently and strive for excellence. I will work hand in hand with my fellow disciples to improve our strength together. I will never let down the earnest expectations of my seniors and will bravely shoulder the heavy responsibility of saving the world." His words were earnest and firm, and his eyes were bright and piercing, showing his determination and sense of responsibility.
The sect leader smiled with satisfaction and said softly, "Very good, very good. This is the kind of spirit and sense of responsibility that disciples of our Dao Sect should possess."
His voice carried a hint of satisfaction and appreciation. The surrounding elders smiled, indicating their agreement with the sect leader's words, and nodded slightly in acknowledgment.
Just then, the sect leader spoke again: "Since there's nothing else, you may all leave." His tone was calm and gentle, but it carried an undeniable authority.
"Yes, Master (Sect Leader)! This disciple will take his leave now," Yu Xiheng replied respectfully.
Then, he slowly turned around and walked firmly toward the door. Seeing this, Mo Qian followed closely behind him.
The two walked out of the main hall side by side, the sunlight shining on them and illuminating their tall figures. Their steps were steady and powerful, as if they carried the hopes and missions of the entire Dao Sect for the future.
On their way away from the main hall, Yu Xiheng and Mo Qian each reflected on what had just happened inside. Yu Xiheng was filled with emotion and determination, while Mo Qian simply felt that this novel world had piqued his interest.
