Transmigration and Self-Saving Cultivation

Chapter 20: Traps in the Ruins.

Jun Luochuan led his team, proceeding slowly and cautiously through the mysterious ruins, as if walking on thin ice. These ruins were like a colossal beast that had slumbered for millennia; each step deeper felt like gently touching its sensitive and dangerous nerves.

The group followed closely behind Jun Luochuan, their expressions tense like taut bowstrings, yet their eyes brimming with anticipation and a thirst for exploration. Su Yao, on the other hand, was like a curious kitten, looking around with endless curiosity about everything around her.

"Su Yao, behave yourself and stop running around like a headless fly!" Jun Luochuan turned around abruptly, his sharp gaze like a sword piercing straight at Su Yao, his tone carrying an undeniable warning.

Su Yao playfully stuck out her tongue, made a funny face, and said, "Okay, Young Master Jun!"

The group continued to move slowly forward, and ahead appeared a deep, bottomless passage. Strange gems were inlaid on the walls on both sides of the passage, and those gems shimmered with a mysterious and alluring light, like the bright stars in the night sky.

"Everyone be careful. This place is filled with an eerie atmosphere, like a venomous snake lurking in the darkness, ready to strike us deadly at any moment." Jun Luochuan lowered his voice, which seemed to come from the depths of the earth, carrying a heavy sense of oppression.

However, at this critical moment, a team member accidentally stepped on a slightly protruding paving stone.

"Crack!" The crisp sound suddenly echoed in the tomb-like passage, like a thunderclap ripped through the night sky.

In an instant, the light from the gems on the wall surged forth like a raging flood, shooting out countless rays of light that wove together a dense, indestructible net that mercilessly enveloped everyone with lightning speed.

"Oh no, it's a trap!" Jun Luochuan's face turned deathly pale, as if covered by a thick layer of frost.

Everyone panicked and scattered like ants on a hot plate.

"Hold on tight, don't scatter like a pile of sand!" Jun Luochuan roared hoarsely, his voice echoing like a booming bell in the passage. "Concentrate your strength and break this damned beam of light!"

The team members unleashed their signature spells, and in an instant, multicolored light burst forth like fireworks, crashing fiercely against the net of light. But the net of light was as tough as diamond; the spells striking it only created a few insignificant ripples.

Jun Luochuan frowned deeply, as if his brows were knotted together, his mind racing like a machine, rapidly searching for a solution.

"Su Yao, quickly try your magic weapon, it might have a miraculous effect!" Jun Luochuan shouted anxiously.

Su Yao responded and quickly took out her magic weapon. A dazzling light shot towards the light net like lightning.

However, the Fiber Optic Network only trembled slightly and remained as solid as a rock.

"What are we going to do?" One team member's voice was already trembling with tears, and a sense of despair began to spread among the crowd.

Jun Luochuan gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead like writhing earthworms: "Don't panic, everyone! There's always a way out! We'll definitely find a solution!"

Just then, the light net began to shrink rapidly, at a speed as fast as a sudden storm, which was terrifying.

"Ah!" One of the team members was unable to dodge in time and was tightly entangled in the net of light, letting out a heart-wrenching scream of pain. The sound seemed to come from the depths of hell, making people's hearts tremble.

"Hold on, I'm coming to save you!" Jun Luochuan rushed over without hesitation, his figure as elusive as a ghost.

But as soon as he got close, he was violently bounced back by a force as powerful as a tsunami, and he fell heavily to the ground like a kite with a broken string.

"Utterly despicable!" Jun Luochuan cursed fiercely, his eyes burning with fury.

Su Yao's eyes welled up with tears, like two glistening pearls: "Jun Luochuan, are we really going to die here?"

Jun Luochuan turned to look at her, his eyes as firm as iron: "With me here, I will never let such a tragedy happen!"

With that, Jun Luochuan once again shot towards the light network like an arrow released from a bow.

This time, he concentrated all his magical power into the sword in his hand, and the sword instantly emitted a dazzling light like the blazing sun, slashing fiercely at the net of light with a do-or-die spirit.

With a deafening roar, as if a mountain had collapsed and the earth had split open, a tiny crack finally appeared in the net of light, like a ray of dawn in the darkness.

"Everyone, let's concentrate our firepower on this crack!" Jun Luochuan shouted hoarsely, his voice filled with hope.

The team members concentrated their magic power at the crack, and the light net finally shattered under the immense force.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but before they could recover from this brief moment of joy, the ground suddenly began to sink rapidly.

"What kind of monster is this now!" someone cried out in terror, their voice trembling like a leaf in the wind.

Jun Luochuan quickly steadied himself and shouted, "Everyone, be careful!"

The sinking speed increased rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, it formed a huge, bottomless pit, like a giant beast with its jaws wide open, about to devour everyone.

"Jump!" Jun Luochuan shouted, taking the lead and bravely jumping down first.

The team members followed suit and jumped down without hesitation.

The bottom of the pit was filled with a pungent smell, like that of rotting corpses, and countless evil eyes seemed to be lurking in the darkness, sending chills down one's spine.

"Stay close together, don't get separated!" Jun Luochuan's voice echoed in the darkness, bringing a sense of security to everyone.

Suddenly, a cold, eerie wind howled past, bringing with it a series of strange sounds.

"Waaaah..." The sound was like the lament of a wronged soul, or the low murmur of a demon, sending chills down one's spine.

"What kind of terrifying sound is that?" Su Yao gripped Jun Luochuan's clothes tightly, her voice trembling like a candle flame in the wind.

Jun Luochuan warily surveyed his surroundings, his eyes sharp: "I don't know, but they're definitely not someone to mess with."

Just then, a group of dark figures burst out of the darkness like ghosts, carrying the aura of death, and rushed towards the group.

"It's a terrible monster!" someone cried out in despair.

Jun Luochuan showed no fear, brandishing his sword like a war god as he faced the enemy: "Don't be afraid, everyone! Fight these beasts!"

The team members mustered their courage and engaged in a thrilling and desperate battle with the monster.

These monsters were as agile as lightning and incredibly strong, seemingly possessing inexhaustible power. For a time, everyone was caught in a fierce battle, like a small boat struggling in a raging storm.

"Ah!" A team member was unfortunately hit by the monster, screamed and fell to the ground, his blood staining the ground red.

Jun Luochuan was extremely anxious, and his swordsmanship became even more ferocious, each move carrying a determination to kill.

"Su Yao, stay behind me and don't run around!" Jun Luochuan shouted.

Su Yao stubbornly declared, "I refuse to be a coward! I want to contribute to the fight!"

With that, she unleashed her magic and bravely attacked the monster.

After a fierce battle, as intense as a collision of planets, the monster was finally defeated by the group.

"Everyone, take a short rest and recover your mana as soon as possible," Jun Luochuan said, his voice filled with exhaustion.

Everyone sat down, adjusting their breathing, as if they had just walked through the gates of hell.

Just then, some strange symbols suddenly appeared on the wall. Those symbols were like twisted crawling insects, emitting an eerie light.

"What exactly is this thing?" Su Yao asked curiously, her voice tinged with fear.

Jun Luochuan stepped forward and examined it carefully, his brows furrowed: "I don't know, but it feels like an ominous sign."

Before the words were even finished, the symbols began to flash violently, and a powerful force, as strong as a tornado, surged out from them.

"Oh no! Everyone, run!" Jun Luochuan shouted hoarsely.

But it was all too late. The powerful force instantly enveloped everyone, like an invisible giant net.

"Ah!" The crowd screamed in agony, as if they were being bitten by a million poisonous insects.

Jun Luochuan felt as if his body was being torn apart by this force, and his consciousness began to gradually blur.

"Are we really going to perish in this terrible place?" A trace of despair flashed through Jun Luochuan's mind, like a shooting star in the night.

At this critical moment of life and death, a flash of inspiration suddenly appeared in his mind.

"Everyone, concentrate your magic power and fight against this evil force together!" Jun Luochuan shouted with his last bit of strength.

The team members responded enthusiastically, pooling their magical power to form an unbreakable barrier.

A miracle occurred; the powerful force was gradually suppressed, like the receding tide.

The group finally escaped danger, as if they had returned to the human world from hell.

"Phew..." Jun Luochuan let out a long breath, like a deflated balloon. "Keep moving forward. No matter what, we must find a way out."

The team continued their treacherous journey through the perilous ruins, each step filled with uncertainty and fear...

As they walked, they came to a room so large it resembled a palace. Inside stood a colossal statue, so lifelike, its eyes gleaming with an eerie light, as if whispering an ancient curse.

“This statue looks terrifying, as if it might come to life at any moment,” Su Yao said, her voice trembling slightly.

"Don't come any closer, be careful, it might be a trap," Jun Luochuan said warily.

But it was too late; Su Yao had accidentally triggered a mechanism on the statue.

The statue began to move slowly, like a resurrected demon god, launching a fierce attack on the crowd.

Jun Luochuan immediately drew his sword to meet the attack, shouting loudly, "Everyone, be careful!"

The statue's attack power was extremely strong, each attack carrying an overwhelming force. Jun Luochuan gradually felt powerless, like a candle flickering in the wind.

"This can't go on," Jun Luochuan thought to himself, feeling a sense of despair.

Suddenly, he keenly noticed the statue's weakness.

"Attack its foot joints!" Jun Luochuan shouted, his voice filled with hope.

The team members unleashed their magic, focusing their attacks on the statue's foot joints.

The statue finally succumbed to the weight and collapsed, turning into a pile of rubble.

"Finally, this big problem is solved." Everyone said, their faces showing the joy of surviving a disaster.

Just when everyone thought they could finally breathe a sigh of relief, a thick, ink-like poisonous fog suddenly filled the room.

"Hold your breath! Don't inhale the poisonous fog!" Jun Luochuan shouted anxiously.

Everyone covered their mouths and noses, but the poisonous fog grew thicker and thicker, and some team members began to collapse from the poison.

"What should I do? What should I do?" Su Yao was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, pacing around in circles.

Jun Luochuan looked around and suddenly noticed the room's ventilation opening.

"Everyone, follow me, quick!" Jun Luochuan led the group and rushed towards the ventilation shaft.

Finally, they successfully escaped the room filled with poisonous fog.

"This ruin is a death trap," someone said with lingering fear.

Jun Luochuan said with a solemn expression, "Everyone, be careful. We don't know how many dangers await us ahead."

The team continued their arduous journey, each step fraught with hardship and challenge...
