Under the moonlight

Chapter 65 Treasured Old Objects

Zhao Meng sat in the car in a daze for a while before starting the car and driving back to the company.

"Liang Yuanyuan, I just went to the workshop and checked on the products that have already been produced. The quality is acceptable, but there is less than a week left before our delivery date. We need to keep a close eye on the remaining products. You and Xiao Chen should keep a close eye on them these next few days."

Liang Yuanyuan stood in the conference room and loudly replied, "Yes, boss!" Xiao Chen also gave Zhao Meng an "OK" sign. Zhao Meng nodded and then found Zhang Jiaying. "How is it? Has Huang Meng corrected everything that needed to be changed?" Zhao Meng saw the document on her desk, which was covered with numerous corrections. He frowned and asked, "So many of these have problems?"

Zhang Jiaying looked up at him and said seriously, "I just checked online. The names of many everyday items in their country are different from ours. Moreover, if we translate them directly into their language, it would just be two meaningless characters combined into a word that they don't understand. Huang Meng's translation, however, is very much in line with their language habits."

"Okay, can you manage?" Zhao Meng asked, looking at her.

"Yes, no problem, it's just typing. The graphic designer can do the layout at the end," Zhang Jiaying said calmly.

Just as Zhao Meng was about to ask Chen Fen, he picked up where Zhang Jiaying left off, saying, "Boss, don't worry, as soon as Sister Zhang is done, I'll be quick on my end!" Zhao Meng smiled at him and said, "That's good. Everyone, keep a close eye on things these next few days. Once the first batch of goods is delivered smoothly, the rest will be much easier. We expect to ship on Friday morning. If all goes well, I'll treat everyone to lunch this afternoon!"

"well!"

"thank you boss!"

"May the boss make a fortune!"

After a brief uproar, everyone quieted down. Their company was small, but it was a place Zhao Meng had specifically chosen. Although it was called a company, it was more like a studio. When each employee joined, Zhao Meng explained their job responsibilities to them and let them choose their workstations based on their job duties.

For example, Zhang Jiaying is mainly responsible for operations and publicity. She works most often with Chen Fen, whose workstations are next to each other, so they can communicate directly about anything.

Therefore, there are no so-called departments among them. Each person cooperates with their respective work partners. Zhao Meng also likes to stand among them to discuss the progress of the work. In this way, everyone can quickly and clearly explain which step of their work should be completed, what other work needs to be coordinated or what other people need to cooperate with. There is no need to call them together for a special meeting. Zhao Meng thinks that is pure formalism.

However, his seemingly casual work style resulted in an astonishingly fast work speed because they devoted all their time and energy to their work. Zhao Meng glanced at his colleagues who were busy again and went to the conference room.

"How is it?" he asked, glancing at the various documents Liang Yuanyuan had spread out on the table.

"Almost done. All the documents needed for customs declaration for the exported products have been prepared, in triplicate." Zhao Meng glanced through them. "Okay, then you can continue. Call me if anything comes up." Zhao Meng patted Liang Yuanyuan on the shoulder and strode out of the conference room.

Watching his departing figure, Liang Yuanyuan knew he probably wouldn't be returning to the office. She glanced at her wrist; it was lunchtime. She quickly packed the organized documents into their respective boxes, walked out of the conference room, and called out loudly, "It's lunchtime! Anyone want to order food from me?"

"Me, me." Soon, five or six colleagues signed up with her, while the other colleagues leisurely stretched and calmly packed their things to go out for dinner.

After noting down the list of people who wanted to order food, Liang Yuanyuan went to sit down in the conference room. Like Huang Meng, she basically didn't have a fixed workstation. She had to greet people when they came, provide her colleagues with all kinds of information they needed, and frequently organize the company's various files and documents. The places she spent most of her time were the archives and the conference room.

Zhao Meng drove home.

"Why are you back at noon today? You didn't even tell me beforehand, and I didn't leave you any food!" Tian Mengyun said with a surprised look as Zhao Meng walked in.

"It's okay, I'll just eat a little something." Zhao Meng said as he went into his room and slammed the door shut.

Zhao Meng took out a box from the innermost part of the wardrobe. Inside were some old items he had kept, including a group photo taken when they graduated from elementary school.

Zhao Meng picked up the photo and immediately spotted Huang Meng, who was half-squatting next to him in the first row. He touched the slightly yellowed photo, lingered on Huang Meng's face for a moment, as if he had made a decision, then picked up the photo and stuffed it into his pocket. He continued rummaging through the box and found the cell phone at the very bottom.
