Transcending the Magic Era: The Supreme Female Archmage
Chapter 176: A Kiss of Love
"Give in." Ji Moyu's voice was hoarse, as if it had been sanded. Her Adam's apple bobbed violently beneath her lips, like a swallowtail butterfly pinned in amber, struggling for its last breath.
Chu Qiuchi did not back down; instead, she intensified her efforts, gently tracing the protruding contours with the tip of her tongue. She could clearly feel the firm chest beneath her palm rising and falling uncontrollably, as if a thousand thunderbolts were surging beneath his bones.
This realization stirred a secret joy within her—it turned out that even this boy, who was always as calm as a still well, could have moments of utter confusion.
"Chu, Qiu, Chi." He called her full name slowly and deliberately, then suddenly reached out and grabbed the back of her neck. The force seemed fierce, but it didn't even hurt a single hair on her head.
As he leaned down, a few stray strands of hair brushed against her brow bone, and his breath, carrying the cool scent of pine, burned the sensitive skin near her ear: "Do you know you're playing with fire?"
The distant roars of demonic beasts pierced the night, making the air inside the tent even more viscous. Chu Qiuchi gazed into his suddenly deep, dark eyes, the turbulent undercurrents within them sending a chill down her spine. She suddenly realized that she was breaking the seal on a pool of eternal icy water.
“I know.” She deliberately scratched his taut jawline with her fingernail. “I just wanted to know…” Her voice trailed off as the world suddenly spun around her. Ji Moyu’s arm muscles tensed sharply as he pulled her into his arms, his burning palms firmly holding her waist.
In the instant their bodies pressed tightly together, Chu Qiuchi smiled like a cat that had just stolen some cream, deliberately breathing on his throbbing temples as she wrapped her arms around his neck: "Is your fire burning?"
Moonlight pierced through the gaps in the clouds, shattering into countless stars in his eyes. Those starlights, frozen for years, were now melting violently, revealing the scorching lava beneath.
When he lowered his head, she subconsciously closed her eyes, her long eyelashes casting butterfly-wing-like shadows in the moonlight, only to hear a sigh with a slight tremor on her lips: "...You still haven't said whether you agree or not."
"You really have no sense of romance." Chu Qiuchi suddenly opened her eyes, a cunning glint in her amber pupils. She suddenly leaped up, her whole body wrapping around his lean waist like a vine.
This movement caused her crimson skirt to flutter like a blooming peony. Now, she was finally level with those eyes that always looked down at her.
Ji Moyu's breath hitched noticeably. Her gaze traced his slightly parted lips, passing over his straight, jade-like breasts, and finally crashing into his unfathomable, icy eyes.
The undercurrents there reminded her of the vortex of Guixu in mythology, as if it could sweep away a person's soul and spirit.
"Okay, I agree!" she suddenly announced, her voice unusually clear in the silent open space. Before she finished speaking, the boy's perpetually frozen mask suddenly cracked—his thin lips parted slightly in an astonishing arc, and his eyes and brows were filled with vibrant color, making him look like a jade sculpture infused with a soul.
It turns out that the sound of melting ice and snow is a heart pounding like a drum.
"Are you so happy?"
She leaned in close, their noses touching, and in the moonlight, she could see that every trembling eyelash was tinged with silver, like ice floes on a lake in early spring, about to melt. Before the last syllable of her voice had faded, her lips were already pressed against his thin lips, which were always tightly pursed.
Just as I imagined, it was sweet, with the cool sensation of the first snow of winter on the tip of the tongue, and like the red flesh of a watermelon scooped out with a silver spoon in the middle of summer, the sweet juice instantly refreshing all the senses.
Just as she was about to back away, a large, burning hand suddenly gripped the back of her head. Ji Moyu mimicked her gesture and pressed his lips against hers, his touch awkward yet persistent, his voice laced with breathlessness: "I haven't had enough..." These five words were like sparks flying into a haystack, instantly igniting all reason.
It began as a tentative, light touch, like the first drop of melting snow falling on a new leaf in early spring. Then, someone deepened the kiss, gradually transforming it into a sudden downpour on a summer afternoon.
In the hazy moonlight, even the nightingales perched on the ancient cypress trees nearby seemed to be startled and flew away. The downy feathers that fell as their wings swept across the moon were like a snowflake falling on their intertwined hair.
The young man, experiencing love for the first time, felt a wildfire raging yet still struggled to control himself. Each time his palm traced her waistline, he would pause for a moment, as if fighting against some invisible shackle. This restrained fervor only made the kisses more tender, like a fine vintage wine, its aftertaste lingering and intoxicating.
As the rain subsided, Chu Qiuchi leaned on his shoulder, panting softly, and noticed that she had unconsciously crumpled his clothes. Ji Moyu lowered his head to brush away the strands of hair clinging to her neck, his fingertips trembling noticeably when they touched her reddened earlobe, the skin there so hot it almost burned his fingertips.
The two smiled at each other, their eyes and brows glistening with joy like dewdrops, like two plants that have become even more vibrant after a downpour, every inch of their skin radiating a nourished glow.
Ji Moyu suddenly tightened his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. As his chin rested on the top of her head, his voice was low, almost a soliloquy: "Qiu Chi, I will never betray you in this life." He paused, then added, "I'm not good with pretty words, you'll see..."
"Let's see what you do, is that it?" Chu Qiuchi interrupted him, tilting her head back and poking his chest with her fingertip. "I'll remember this." A sly glint flashed in her eyes. "But now that we're together, don't be like those fools in those stories, hiding things from me under the guise of doing it for my own good."
She suddenly tiptoed closer to his ear, her warm breath brushing against his earlobe: "If you dare to do that..." Her voice trailed off into a soft laugh, "I promise you'll lose me forever." In the moonlight, she saw the boy's pupils suddenly contract, and his Adam's apple bob heavily.
A soft "hmm" came from above his head, like a promise squeezed from the deepest part of his chest. Chu Qiuchi hugged him back with satisfaction, nuzzling his head against his chest, his nose filled with the crisp scent of pine.
A night breeze rustled through the nearby tents. Just then, a seemingly casual question came from above: "What did you and the First Prince do today...?"
Chu Qiuchi's lips unconsciously curled up. Although his tone was no different from usual, the slightly tense jawline and the fingertips that unconsciously caressed her lower back betrayed his suppressed jealousy.
"Lower your head," she whispered. Ji Moyu obediently lowered his head, allowing her to steal another kiss. "I just spent his birthday with him and gave him a Kongming lantern as a gift." She paused deliberately, and sure enough, she saw the boy's brow furrow slightly. "What? Is our little fish... jealous?"
Ji Moyu didn't deny it, but simply tightened his grip on her waist. In the moonlight, his eyes were as deep as ink: "The way he looked at you..." Before he could finish speaking, his lips were pressed against a slender finger.
"Why worry about what others think?" Chu Qiuchi smiled brightly, her fingertips tracing the outline of his lips. "Standing before you now is the eldest daughter of the Chu family, willingly let you lead her away." She suddenly grabbed his collar and pulled him down. "Instead of overthinking, why not..."
The unspoken words dissipated between their lips as they pressed together again. In the distance, the shadows cast on the tent resembled a chaotic shadow puppet show.
Under the moonlight, the intertwined figures of the two were exceptionally clear—the boy's slender fingers pierced through the girl's cascading black hair, and her tiptoe cast a crescent-shaped silhouette on the ground.
