Xu Zhi answered the phone, and Ji Yan took the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen and started cooking.

Then Ning Yi ran into the kitchen, insisting on helping out.

"No, the rash on your hands hasn't healed yet, you can't touch dish soap or anything like that," Ji Yan said seriously.

Ning Yi paused her outstretched hand, then continued, "It's alright, I'm not that delicate."

Ji Yan looked at her helplessly and said in a low voice, "If you want to get better quickly, listen to me."

Ning Yi had no choice but to give up and obediently left the kitchen.

After finishing his call, Xu Zhi took his phone and went into the kitchen to find Ji Yan.

"Brother Yan, Director Tang suddenly asked me to come over to discuss some work, and he also wants me to pick up some documents."

Ji Yan, who was still washing the dishes, nodded upon hearing this and said calmly, "Then you go first, I'll clean up here."

Xu Zhi said with some concern, "If I drive the car away, how will you get back?"

"How about I come pick you up later? It takes more than an hour to get there from here. I should be able to get over by 9:30 tonight."

Ji Yan pondered for a few seconds, then nodded and said, "Okay, be careful on the road."

Then Xu Zhi went out, briefly explained the situation to Ning Yi, and left.

That means... now is her and Ji Yan's time alone.

Ning Yi couldn't hide her smile when she thought of this.

Just then, Ji Yan came out and immediately saw what Ning Yi was laughing about.

Ning Yi noticed he was coming over, so she quickly picked up her phone and pretended to be playing on it.

Just then, Lin Zhiyu sent a message.

Lin Zhiyu: How have you been lately? Have you been discharged from the hospital?

Ning Yi clicked on it and then casually replied: I'm much better, I've been discharged from the hospital.

Ji Yan was standing next to Ning Yi without her noticing. He didn't mean to look, but when he saw Ning Yi smiling so happily, he walked over and found her chatting with a boy.

Ning Yi noticed Ji Yan approaching, and quickly picked up a fruit plate from the coffee table and handed it to him: "Brother Yan, you've worked hard, have some fruit."

Ji Yan's expression slightly lowered, a complex look flashing in his eyes. His voice became a few decibels lower: "I won't eat it, take your medicine instead."

"Okay," Ningyi said, then put the fruit plate back on the coffee table.

Ji Yan brought the medicine and water over and handed them to Ning Yi.

After several minutes of difficulty, Ning Yi finished taking the medicine and looked down to see Ji Yan holding out his hand, with two fruit candies lying in his palm.

Ning Yi was stunned for two seconds, then looked at Ji Yan.

"Since you find the medicine too strong in the taste, have two candies," Ji Yan said calmly, his face expressionless.

Ning Yi felt a surge of joy; she hadn't expected him to be so thoughtful.

She happily took the candy, tore open the packaging, and ate it.

It's sweet and has an orange flavor.

Then Ji Yan took the ointment, paused in front of Ning Yi, and said, "Xiao Yi, you're still young. You need to be careful when you're dating."

Ning Yi was stunned upon hearing this. She looked at Ji Yan in confusion and asked, "Huh?"

“If your brother knew, he would definitely be worried about you,” Ji Yan continued.

Ning Yi shook her head and denied it, saying, "I'm not in a relationship."

Ji Yan glanced at Ning Yi and then said in a tone befitting an elder, "As your older brother, I also have a responsibility to advise and guide you on these matters."

"At your age, it's normal to be experiencing puppy love, but some of the guys you meet might not treat you well. Whether now or in the future, you must keep your eyes open when choosing a man."

Then Ji Yan stared at Ning Yi, his expression serious, and said, "Do you understand?"

Ning Yi didn't know why he suddenly started telling her all this, so she could only obediently nod and say, "I understand."

Then Ningyi started applying the ointment.

Ning Yi felt the air suddenly become quiet, and neither of them spoke.

So she took the initiative to start a conversation, asking, "Do you usually cook for yourself?"

Ji Yan shook her head and replied, "Not often, because I don't have much time to cook at home."

Ji Yan took out her iPad from her bag and started watching intently.

Ning Yi glanced at him while applying the medicine.

"What are you looking at?" Ning Yi asked, noticing his serious expression.

Ji Yan continued swiping across the screen as she slowly said, "I'm about to take on a role in a drama, and my studio has sent me the character analysis."

"A movie? What kind?" Ning Yi continued to ask.

“Yes, it’s a suspense drama. The character I’m watching is a villainous older brother next door,” Ji Yan replied patiently.

Ning Yi nodded, then she inadvertently noticed a cut on Ji Yan's left hand.

Ning Yi frowned and couldn't help but reach out and take Ji Yan's hand: "How did you hurt your hand?"

She looked at the hand she was holding; the cut was still a little red.

Ji Yan was somewhat surprised by this action.

He then said calmly, "It's nothing. I was just using a sharp knife today and accidentally cut myself a little."

A pang of heartache flashed in Ning Yi's eyes; after all, he was the one who cooked for her. Then, remembering something, she said somewhat seriously, "You're still washing the dishes today? What if your wound gets infected? Wait for me, I'll go get the medicine."

Just as Ji Yan was about to say no, Ning Yi jumped off the sofa and ran to the TV cabinet without even putting on her shoes to start rummaging through things.

Ningyi was applying medicine to her leg, so she took off her shoes. One of her shoes ended up under the sofa, so she simply decided not to wear them anymore.

Ning Anyuan had told her before that there was a small first-aid kit under the TV cabinet, which contained some basic medicines, just in case.

Ningyi opened the drawer and found the small box. She then looked inside for iodine, cotton swabs, and a band-aid.

Ji Yan looked at Ning Yi, who was barefoot and half-kneeling on the ground, searching for medicine for him. He then looked down at the cut on his hand, which was only about two or three centimeters long, and his heart was slightly touched.

Then Ning Yi ran to Ji Yan's side with the things, took his hand and helped him wipe it with iodine.

He actually wanted to refuse, but the words wouldn't come out, and he could only watch as Ning Yi helped him apply the medicine.

As Ning Yi helped him apply the medicine, she said, "Are you usually this careless with yourself?"

"You must get injured easily at work, especially when filming. I've seen many stories online about people getting injured while filming."

Ning Yi said to herself, after applying the medicine to him, she blew on it to cool him down.

Ji Yan felt a chill and saw her blowing air onto the wound. Suddenly, he felt his ears getting hot.

He instinctively pulled his hand away, and Ning Yi noticed his discomfort, then asked softly, "Did I hurt you?"

Ji Yan's voice was a little hoarse: "No... I can do it myself."

Then Ji Yan took the band-aid from Ning Yi's other hand and applied it to his wound: "Thank you."

When Ning Yi heard him thank her, she lowered her head a little shyly: "It's nothing, of course I hope you're doing well."

Ji Yan looked up at Ning Yi, a hint of unreadable emotion in his eyes.

Ning Yi looked at him staring at her and suddenly felt that what she had just said was a bit too much.

Then Ning Yi immediately added, "As your fan, I naturally hope you can always stay healthy and shine brightly on stage."

Ji Yan smiled and said, "Yes, I will."

In his eyes, Ning Yi was just a little girl.
