Upon hearing K011's words, alarm bells immediately went off for Feng Yuhan and Wang Yinghui. They exchanged glances, and then Wang Yinghui spoke first: "So K011, did Professor Lin say what she was going to get for you?"

"Professor Lin said she would get me paper and pen so I could write in my diary. She told me this yesterday." K011 blinked and answered Wang Yinghui's question truthfully.

Upon hearing K011's answer, Wang Yinghui and Feng Yuhan indeed remembered that Professor Lin had mentioned yesterday that K011 should write a diary.

"Oh, I see." Feng Yuhan nodded—this answer seemed to have no problem.

"Qada." The laboratory door was pushed open, followed by Lin Huanming's voice: "What are you two still doing here?"

Lin Huanming's tone was clearly one of confusion and bewilderment. Normally, shouldn't these two people leave as soon as they get off work? Why are they staying in the lab for so long today?

"Ah, Professor Lin, when we were about to leave, we found that K011 hadn't gone into hibernation yet. We were just about to put it into hibernation when it said that you told it to wait." Feng Yuhan explained as quickly as possible why she and Wang Yinghui were staying here, even though this reason was not true.

"Is that so? Okay, after K011 finishes writing her diary, you guys can summarize what she wrote." Lin Huanming said as he handed a notebook and a pen to K011.

“Okay, Professor Lin.” Wang Yinghui and Feng Yuhan each took out their notebooks, waiting for K011 to finish writing its own diary.

K011 finished writing in his diary. Lin Huanming took it and read it. He saw that it read:

Today I saw grass, trees, flowers, sky, clouds, pedestrians, cars, and buildings.

I learned from Professor Lin why humans choose to keep pets.

I learned from Professor Lin why monkeys, despite having similar limbs, cannot speak human language.

Professor Lin gave me paper and pen today and asked me to write in my diary.

So I wrote a diary.

"This diary... feels a bit like a diary entry." Feng Yuhan commented after reading K011's diary.

"After all, it's just a robot that imitates humans, so it's normal for its writing to be a bit rambling, since it's more like something a child would write," Wang responded, offering his thoughts.

"You've written everything down? Okay." Lin Huanming took back the notebook and pen, clipped the pen to the notebook, and casually stuffed it into his breast pocket. Then he said to K011, "K011, it's time for you to go into hibernation."

“Professor Lin, I would like to keep that notebook and that pen,” K011 suddenly said.

"Why do you want to keep the notebook?" When Lin Huanming heard K011 say this, she took out the notebook with a pen clipped to it from her pocket and waited for K011 to give her an answer before handing the notebook to K011.

“Professor Lin, I wrote something in it,” K011 said. “I feel I need something of my own, and maybe this notebook with my writing is the best thing that belongs to me.”

Upon hearing this answer, Wang Yinghui and Feng Yuhan exchanged bewildered glances.

As Lin Huanming handed the notebook to K011, Feng Yuhan frowned and said, "Is this a sign of selfishness?"

"It shouldn't matter, right?" Wang responded, crossing his arms as he pondered. "It should be fine as long as it's a notebook with my own writing on it. Besides, it asked beforehand, didn't it? But we'll have to integrate moral education into the daily routine of the experiment later."
