Five days later, when the first rays of dawn pierced through the mist and shone on the mermaid tribe, all preparations were complete.

At the heart of the tribe stands an altar meticulously constructed by the Flamingo people, decorated with solemnity and sanctity. Around the altar, colorful feathers and vibrant flowers intertwine to create a series of beautiful scenes.

At this moment, the protagonist, He Yu, stood anxiously on one side of the altar, waiting. His eyes shone with anticipation, yet also with a hint of unease.

Today's marriage ceremony is of great significance to him; it is the most important moment of his life.

"Oh dear, Xiaoyu, my old back can't take this kind of torment!" With a slightly teasing complaint, the elder of the Red Crane Clan finally arrived, covered in dust, and dismounted from the back of his equally aged partner.

The elderly priestess, with her white hair and youthful face, retained a young heart despite her advanced age. She was an extremely rare female priestess on the continent, and a half-orc who did not possess the ability to transform.

The elder's arrival eased He Yu's anxiety slightly. He hurriedly stepped forward, helped the elder up, and asked with concern, "Elder, you must be tired from your journey. I've made all the preparations and am just waiting for you to preside over the ceremony."

The elder smiled slightly, patted He Yu's hand, and said, "I know you're anxious, Xiao Yu. But the marriage ceremony is sacred and requires us to treat it with the utmost sincerity. Don't worry, I won't let you down."

Crane Feather nodded, turning his gaze to the altar, where the Red Crane tribe had already spontaneously gathered, dressed in festive attire, their faces beaming with joy.

In the center of the altar, amidst a profusion of flowers, lay the place his heart longed for.

There, Chu Xinyao stood, clad in a red feathered robe, like a phoenix blooming amidst flames, her beauty perfectly displayed. The red robe was embroidered with intricate patterns—white cranes. The crane-feathered beasts, powerful yet elegant, were also depicted.

"Yu." Chu Xinyao raised her eyes, her gaze passing through the crowd to He Yu, who had been watching her intently. Her heart raced with He Yu's gaze, as if she could feel his excitement and nervousness.

She held tightly in her hand a bouquet woven from the most precious feathers of the flamingo tribe, which Crane Feather had prepared for her personally, symbolizing their steadfast love.

Her red feathered dress shimmered in the morning light, and her long hair was gently tied up, with a few strands dancing lightly in the wind, adding to her ethereal beauty.

He Yu walked towards the altar, each step exuding solemnity. When He Yu stood before Chu Xinyao, their eyes met, and time seemed to freeze at that moment.

The surrounding tribespeople watched the newlyweds quietly, their eyes filled with blessings.

Just as the ceremony was about to end, a discordant gust of wind suddenly blew by, breaking the tranquility of the ceremony.

A group of men in black appeared silently at the edge of the altar. Their steps were firm, like ghosts in the night, silent yet threatening. Leading them was the imposing Serpent Ink, whose appearance cast a shadow over the entire altar.

Snake Ink's eyes, which were originally devoid of any warmth, were fixed on Chu Xinyao, but they melted away like thin ice.

"Yao, I've come to pick you up." Mo's eyes were full of tenderness as he reached out his hand, wanting to take Chu Xinyao away from the ceremony.

His Yao looked so perfectly suited to red; her flowing red dress contrasted sharply with her fair skin. Mo's gaze was fixed on her, his eyes filled with deep infatuation and endless longing.

Noticing his gaze, Crane Feather, also dressed in red feather robes, stood in front of Chu Xinyao, gripping her hand tightly. He showed no fear in the face of Snake Ink's provocation.

"Snake Ink, you are disrupting our mating ceremony," he said coldly. Fortunately, their clan's mating ceremony was extremely simple and had ended long ago, thus preventing Snake Ink from having the opportunity to disrupt it.

Snake Ink sneered. His gaze blocked, he looked at Crane Feather, a ruthless glint in his eyes: "So what if it is? You've forgotten so quickly? You also ruined my marriage ritual." His marriage ritual, his divine water. If it hadn't been ruined by Tiger Roar and Crane Feather working together, he and Yao wouldn't have ended up like this. The failure of that ritual was a lifelong regret for him.

"Or do you really naively believe that such a simple ceremony can bind Yao and get her?" he said disdainfully. "I'm here today to take her away."

The surrounding Red Crane Clan members and the onlookers, including the Mermaids, stood up angrily. On the Beast God Continent, the marriage ceremony was sacred and protected by the Beast God. Any violation of the ceremony was disrespectful to the Beast God and a provocation to the entire race.

With a loud "bang," the sacrificial staff made a huge noise. The elder's face was solemn, and her voice echoed on the altar, carrying an undeniable threat.

"Serpent Ink, this is a provocation against my Red Crane Clan!"

"So what if it is?" She Mo remained unmoved; he didn't even consider the mere Red Crane Clan a threat. His subordinates dispersed, forming an encirclement.

"Snake Ink, are you really going to go this far?" Chu Xinyao stepped out from behind He Yu. Her voice was calm, and her eyes showed no fear, only deep disappointment and determination.

She knew of Shemo's ambition, but she never imagined he would be so cruel to her, showing no consideration for her whatsoever and wreaking havoc on her marriage ceremony.

Her red feathered dress fluttered gently in the wind, and her figure stood tall and straight, like an unyielding pine tree.

Under Chu Xinyao's gaze, Shemo's eyes flickered slightly. She was his beloved female, his lifelong partner. Yet these beastmen around them had destroyed the bond between him and Yao. His voice trembled slightly, almost imperceptibly: "Yao, you were always meant to be my partner. They took you away."

Chu Xinyao shook her head, her eyes filled with determination: "She Mo, I did love you before, but you betrayed me. The reason I left you was never because of them, it was always you. You pushed me away." Her voice was calm, devoid of any love or hate, each word like a sharp knife piercing She Mo's heart.

Snake Ink's expression changed slightly, and pain and struggle flashed in his eyes. He had never imagined that Chu Xinyao would say such a thing.

He had always believed that it was Hu Xiao's intervention and He Yu's interference that caused their relationship to break down. However, Chu Xinyao's words made him realize that the real problem had always been with himself.

Chu Xinyao continued, "She Mo, you always shift the blame to others, but you never reflect on your own actions. Your behavior disappoints me, and your selfishness chills my heart. I chose He Yu not because he is stronger than you, but because of his complete trust in me." Her eyes revealed deep sorrow. She had once loved She Mo deeply, but that love had been completely consumed by his distrust.

A complex mix of emotions welled up within She Mo. He wanted to retort, but found himself speechless. He looked at Chu Xinyao, the female who had once gently nestled beside him, now standing so resolutely against him. He realized that he had lost her, lost the Chu Xinyao who had once been willing to give everything for him.
