As Chu Xinyao carried the fish soup out, she passed a sturdy old tree. A little squirrel was perched on a branch, its bright eyes fixed on the fish soup in Chu Xinyao's hand, completely forgetting that it was still in the tree. Its fluffy tail swayed gently, as if it were very eager for it.

Suddenly, the little squirrel, too focused on the fish soup, lost its balance and fell from the tree with a "plop." Its round body traced a comical arc in the air before landing on the grass beside the flagstone path. The scene unfolded so quickly that Chu Xinyao had no time to react and could only watch helplessly as it crashed to the ground.

The squirrel immediately flipped itself to its feet, shook its little head, and stared wide-eyed, seemingly incredulous at how it had fallen. Its adorable, bewildered expression seemed to ask: "How did I get here?"

The scene was quite comical, and Chu Xinyao couldn't help but laugh out loud. Her clear and melodious laughter startled the little squirrel that was still standing there like a thunderclap. It seemed to realize its predicament, and quickly turned around, climbed the nearest tree as fast as it could, and disappeared into the dense foliage.

Chu Xinyao watched the little squirrel's disappearing figure, her smile growing even brighter. The surrounding trees seemed to share Chu Xinyao's joy, their leaves rustling gently in the breeze. A few fallen leaves danced in the wind, swirling and carrying away into the distance, eventually settling slowly into a cave in the mountains.

Hidden in a lush forest, the cave's entrance is lightly concealed by vines and wildflowers, making it difficult to spot without careful observation. The cave's interior is deep and dark, with moss-covered walls and a thick layer of fallen leaves on the floor.

Sunlight streamed through the cracks in the cave entrance, like fine golden threads, scattering across the damp ground and creating a dappled pattern of light and shadow. Suddenly, a squirrel appeared, darting into the cave, piling the nuts it had been carrying onto the ground with its tiny paws, its intelligent eyes fixed on the sleeping orc in front of it.

The orc wore a white tiger skin casually around his waist, and his bare chest was covered with scars, each one particularly gruesome. The most conspicuous of these was a scar that ran diagonally from his left shoulder to his right rib, like a grotesque centipede, indicating that the orc was still struggling on the brink of death.

Although the orc's breathing was steady, his brows were furrowed, as if he could feel the pain from his wounds even in his dreams.

Crane Feather reinforced the barrier at the cave entrance, then collapsed to the ground. Looking at the squirrel that had brought them nuts, he said with some dissatisfaction, "Hey, Tiger Roar, couldn't you have summoned some bigger animals? Who's going to eat all these nuts?!"

After a while, He Yu, having received no response, clicked his tongue, stood up, and reluctantly poured some of the medicinal powder from the porcelain bottle in his arms into Hu Xiao's mouth.

"Cough cough," Tiger Roar was choked awake by the smell of the medicinal powder, slowly opening his eyes with a confused look. Then, his gaze gradually focused, and he saw Crane Feather, his hoarse voice ringing out, "Thanks."

He Yu shook his head. "Consider it repaying your life-saving grace." When he was poisoned and escaped, although Chu Xinyao gave him medicine, he was unconscious at the time. If Hu Xiao hadn't passed by and given him the medicine, he wouldn't be standing here now. "Are you alright? Can you walk?"

Tiger Roar braced himself on the ground and sat up straight. The snake venom in his body had been cleared, but he was still very weak.

"I'm fine. Are you leaving?"

He Yu looked up, his gaze piercing through the dense forest towards the mountaintop. Though reluctant, Chu Xinyao and Mo Jielu's union was a done deal, and there was nothing he could do to change it. "Hmm. What about you?" He turned to look at Hu Xiao, who was peeling nuts and eating them, as if that was his only solace.

Hu Xiao paused in his actions, then said firmly, "I'm not leaving. I'm going to bring Xin Yao back. I can't let her be deceived by She Mo any longer."

He Yu recalled that night in Spirit Butterfly Town and said with a bitter smile, "It's no use."

With a "crack," the nut in his hand was crushed by Tiger Roar, his eyes flashing with a determined light. "That's my female. Even if we're going to form a mate, I'll still be her first beast husband."

Looking at the still stubborn Tiger Roar, He Yu sighed, walked forward, picked up the porcelain bottle from the ground, and put it in his pocket.

"Okay, then I'll..."

"Quickly, search everywhere. They're injured and can't have gone far."

"You two go over there and take a look."

A cacophony of sounds approached from afar, breaking the silence of the forest. Crane Feather and Tiger Roar's expressions changed simultaneously; they were searching for their trail.

Crane Feather stood at the cave entrance, his expression shifting between anger and uncertainty. He cursed inwardly; Snake Ink was truly ruthless, actually trying to kill them. He frowned and looked at Tiger Roar. What they needed now was time, even just a little, enough to recover their strength and find a chance to escape.

“It seems I can’t leave for the time being,” He Yu said in a deep voice. “My barrier should be able to hold for a while, so you should hurry up and restore it.”

He turned and went back into the cave to begin setting things up. He bit his finger and quickly drew complex runes in the air. Beams of light flashed in the air with his gestures, eventually forming a semi-transparent barrier that enveloped the entire cave.

Tiger Roar nodded, sat down cross-legged, and mobilized all the power in his body to recover from his injuries.

While the two people in the cave were running around in a frantic manner, the culprit was enjoying Chu Xinyao's meticulous care.

Chu Xinyao gently handed the bowl of steaming fish soup to Mo with a smile. Mo took the bowl, feeling the warmth of the soup seep into his hands, a warmth that went straight to his heart.

"Xinyao, did you make this fish soup yourself?" Mo's voice was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected that Chu Xinyao would actually cook fish soup for him. He gently blew on the soup to let the steam dissipate slowly, and took small sips, savoring the delicious flavor that spread across his tongue.

"Hmm, how is it? Is it good?"

Mo savored the milky white broth, feeling Chu Xinyao's care in every sip. "Xinyao, it's not just about whether it tastes good or not, this is the best soup I've ever had in all these years."

Hearing Mo's praise, Chu Xinyao's smile grew even brighter. She sat on the edge of Mo's bed, her hands supporting her chin, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"I'm glad you like it. I was worried it wouldn't suit your taste."

Mo put down the bowl and reached out to hold Chu Xinyao's hand. "Xinyao, thank you. I really like the soup you made." There was an indescribable affection in his eyes. His gaze was fixed on Chu Xinyao's face, and the light in his red eyes shone like the brightest star in the night sky.

Chu Xinyao saw her own reflection in his pupils, a reflection of being deeply cherished and loved.
