The passageway was dark and damp, with a musty smell that made Ye Shuli cough.

"Cough cough... What a horrible place! It smells worse than my sewer!"

Jiang Ye covered his nose with one hand and held Ye Shuli's hand tightly with the other, afraid of getting separated from her in this pitch-black place.

"Li'er, watch your step," he whispered, his voice tinged with nervousness.

The two could only grope their way forward. The passage was narrow, only wide enough for one person to pass at a time. Ye Shuli was in front, and Jiang Ye was behind, their bodies almost touching.

"Hiss—" Ye Shuli suddenly felt a sharp pain in her ankle, as if she had been bitten by something.

"What the hell?" she exclaimed, quickly lifting her foot.

"What's wrong, Li'er?" Jiang Ye asked anxiously, his voice filled with worry.

"It feels like I was bitten by something." Ye Shuli's voice trembled slightly. In this dark environment, the unknown fear was amplified infinitely.

Almost at the same time, Qin Laoda's furious roar echoed from the warehouse: "Damn it! They got away! Chase them! Chase them to the ends of the earth and bring them back!"

The heavy footsteps grew closer, clearly indicating that Boss Qin's men had already caught up with them and entered the passage.

Danger remained looming, and they were like turtles in a jar, with nowhere to escape.

"Hurry up!" Jiang Ye urged, pulling Ye Shuli along as they continued running forward.

The passageway was uneven, and the two stumbled and nearly fell several times.

Suddenly, Jiang Ye let out a muffled groan and staggered.

"Jiang Ye, what happened to you?" Ye Shuli quickly helped him up. In the dim light, she saw that Jiang Ye's arm was covered in blood, and a wound the size of a thumb was shocking.

"It's nothing, just a minor injury," Jiang Ye said, forcing himself to sound relaxed despite the pain.

"You said you were fine, but you're bleeding!" Ye Shuli was heartbroken and quickly tore off a corner of her sleeve to bandage his wound.

"Hiss... Gently, gently..." Jiang Ye hissed in pain.

"What time is it for you to keep talking nonsense!" Ye Shuli scolded, but her hands became even gentler.

Just then, a rustling sound came from the passage, getting closer and closer, more and more intense.

In the dim light, Ye Shuli saw countless pairs of green eyes staring at them menacingly.

"What the hell is this?" Ye Shuli exclaimed in surprise.

"Li'er, be careful!" Jiang Ye shielded Ye Shuli behind him, watching those green eyes warily.

"Ah—" Jiang Ye screamed again, and even more creatures pounced on him...

"Jiang Ye!" Ye Shuli cried out in terror, "These things...are afraid of light..."

A sudden inspiration struck Ye Shuli, and she remembered the powerful flashlights of modern times. She quickly rummaged through her storage bag and pulled out some fluorescent stones and fragments of concave mirrors—trinkets she had previously found at the market.

"Jiang Ye, help me block this!" she said as she quickly assembled the parts.

Although Jiang Ye didn't understand what Ye Shuli was going to do, he still stood in front of her without hesitation, using his body to form a barrier for her.

Those green eyes seemed more interested in the bloody smell on Jiang Ye, and frantically pounced on him.

Jiang Ye gritted his teeth, enduring the repeated bites without uttering a sound.

"All done!" Ye Shuli shouted excitedly, pointing the assembled simple high-powered flashlight at the creatures.

The intense light shone on the creatures, causing them to let out piercing screams and scatter in all directions.

"Wow! This thing actually works!" Jiang Ye exclaimed, watching the creature flee in disarray.

Using the bright light, the two continued forward. The passage was no longer pitch black; instead, it was filled with a nauseating sight—the sides of the passage were piled with various skeletons, emitting a stench of decay.

"Ugh~" Ye Shuli almost vomited. "What kind of place is this? It's even messier than my doghouse!"

"Li'er, look!" Jiang Ye pointed to some strange symbols on the wall of the passage and said, "These seem to be some kind of code."

Ye Shuli took a closer look and found that these symbols were exactly the same as those on the ledgers she had seen in the mysterious organization's warehouse.

She immediately realized that this passage was not just an escape route, but a place that hid a huge secret.

"Jiang Ye, we might have discovered something incredible!" Ye Shuli said excitedly.

"Oh? What's the big deal? Is it where Boss Qin hides his secret stash of money?" Jiang Ye asked with a wicked grin.

"What are you thinking about! That's much more important!" Ye Shuli rolled her eyes at him, annoyed, and continued studying the symbols.

She discovered that these symbols not only recorded transaction information of the mysterious organization, but also their collusion with other forces, including some members of the royal family.

"It seems that the waters behind this Boss Qin are much deeper than I imagined!"

Looking at Ye Shuli's serious expression, Jiang Ye was surprised that this seemingly delicate woman possessed such keen observation and analytical skills.

"Li'er, you're amazing!" he exclaimed sincerely.

"Of course!" Ye Shuli proudly raised her chin. "Don't you know who I am!"

Jiang Ye smiled, then suddenly pointed to an inconspicuous corner at the front of the passage and said, "Li'er, look there!"

Ye Shuli looked in the direction Jiang Ye was pointing and discovered that there was an even smaller passage hidden there.

"How did you find out?" she asked in surprise.

"Hehe, it's a secret!" Jiang Ye smiled mysteriously and pulled Ye Shuli into the small passage.

The passage was even narrower, and the two could only move forward sideways.

At the end of the passage was a rusty iron gate...

Behind the iron gate was a wide-open space; however, what awaited them was not freedom, but the last line of defense arranged by Boss Qin.

Three men in black, exuding a chilling aura like demons crawling out of hell, blocked their path.

"Trying to run? Dream on!" The leader of the men in black spoke in a chilling tone, his long sword gleaming coldly.

Without saying a word, the three launched their strongest attack.

The sharp sword energy swept in like a storm, accompanied by a piercing whistling sound that sent chills down one's spine.

Ye Shuli and Jiang Ye were almost powerless to fight back and could only barely dodge.

"Li'er, be careful!" Jiang Ye shielded Ye Shuli behind him, taking the brunt of a sword strike.

Blood splattered, staining their clothes red.

"Jiang Ye!" Ye Shuli exclaimed, her eyes reddening.

The situation was critical, and bystanders (if any) would have thought they were doomed.

However, at this critical moment, Jiang Ye suddenly had a flash of inspiration and a plan came to mind.

"Li'er, cover me!" he shouted, and ran sharply to the side of the passage.

Although Ye Shuli didn't understand why, she did as she was told without hesitation, using her simple, high-powered flashlight to constantly distract the man in black.

Jiang Ye ran to one side of the passage, quickly took out a bunch of fluorescent powder he had collected earlier from his storage bag, and sprinkled it on several key locations in the passage.

"It's done!" he shouted in a low voice, then quickly retreated back to Ye Shuli's side.

The men in black pursued relentlessly, but when they stepped into the area Jiang Ye had set up, a sudden change occurred.

The fluorescent powder ignites rapidly upon contact with air, bursting forth with intense light and high temperature, forming a wall of fire that completely seals off the passage.

"Ah—" The man in black was engulfed by the sudden flames and let out a shrill scream.

Ye Shuli stared in disbelief at the scene before her.

She hadn't expected Jiang Ye to be so clever, using the special environment of the passage to set up such a clever trap.

"Jiang Ye, you're amazing!" She excitedly hugged Jiang Ye.

Jiang Ye looked down at Ye Shuli in his arms, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Hehe, it's just a trivial skill, nothing to brag about." He said modestly, but he was secretly pleased with himself.

Ye Shuli gently cupped Jiang Ye's face and tenderly wiped away his wounds.

"Does it hurt?" Her voice was gentle as water, with a slight tremor.

"It doesn't hurt. As long as I can protect you, nothing else hurts." Jiang Ye looked at Ye Shuli with deep affection, his eyes filled with tenderness.

The two locked eyes, and the dangerous surroundings seemed to vanish, leaving only the two of them.

Ye Shuli slowly approached Jiang Ye and gently kissed him on the lips. "Thank you, Jiang Ye."

Jiang Ye was stunned for a moment, then hugged Ye Shuli tightly and deepened the kiss.

After a long time, the two reluctantly parted.

"Li'er..." Jiang Ye's voice was a little hoarse, and his eyes flickered with a complex light.

"Hmm?" Ye Shuli looked at him in confusion.

Jiang Ye took a deep breath and said firmly, "Li'er, I..."

Before he could finish speaking, a loud bang suddenly came from the depths of the passage...

The deafening roar from the depths of the passage was like a thunderclap from a clear sky, exploding in the ears of the two.

"What the heck! What's going on?" Jiang Ye was completely dumbfounded. This sudden turn of events interrupted his heartfelt confession and made his originally tender eyes instantly wary.

Ye Shuli also snapped out of her brief moment of tenderness, her delicate brows furrowed, and an ominous premonition welled up in her heart.

She realized that even though they had temporarily gotten rid of the men in black, they were still in danger, and Boss Qin would not let them go easily.

This escape route is like a giant maze, full of unknown dangers.

"Let's see how things go first." Ye Shuli took Jiang Ye's hand, her voice trembling slightly.

She forced herself to calm down. Now was not the time for romance; they had to find an exit as soon as possible and escape this hellish place.

The two walked cautiously toward the end of the passage, taking each step with extreme care, afraid of triggering any mechanism or trap.

A suffocating sense of oppression permeated the passage, as if something terrifying lurked in the darkness, waiting for its chance to strike.

"Li'er, do you feel... a bit cold in here?" Jiang Ye rubbed his arms and said in a low voice.

Ye Shuli also felt it; the temperature in the passage suddenly dropped, and a chilling aura emanated from the depths of the passage, causing her to shiver involuntarily.

This chilling cold is not just a drop in temperature, but more like a fear from the depths of the soul, sending shivers down one's spine.

"Be careful." Ye Shuli gripped Jiang Ye's hand tightly, her palms glistening with sweat.

As they approached the end of the passage, the strange sound became clearer, like the breathing of some enormous creature, deep and powerful, causing the walls on both sides of the passage to tremble slightly.

"What...what is this thing?" Jiang Ye's voice trembled slightly. He felt his heart beating faster and faster, almost as if it would jump out of his chest.

Ye Shuli did not answer; she didn't know what it was either.

But she knew that he was definitely not someone to be trifled with.

Looking at the injured Jiang Ye, a sense of helplessness welled up in her heart.

She wanted to protect him and get him away from here, but she didn't know what to do.

Breaking the monopoly of the mysterious organization is a long way off, and right now, they can't even protect their own lives.

Just then, a faint light suddenly appeared at the end of the passage, followed by a huge black shadow appearing in the light.

The silhouette of the dark figure was indistinct, yet it exuded a suffocating pressure, like an ancient behemoth about to awaken from its slumber…

"Li'er..." Jiang Ye's voice trembled even more violently. He gripped Ye Shuli's hand tightly, as if grasping a lifeline.

Ye Shuli didn't speak; she just stared intently at the dark figure.

“It…it seems to be moving…” Jiang Ye’s voice was almost inaudible.

The dark figure was indeed moving; it slowly approached them, each step feeling like it was pounding on their hearts, making it almost impossible for them to breathe…

"Li'er, I..." Jiang Ye was about to speak when Ye Shuli interrupted him.

"Shh—" Ye Shuli put her index finger to her lips, signaling Jiang Ye to be quiet.

The two held their breath, standing motionless like two statues, silently awaiting their fate...

"It...it's coming..." Jiang Ye's voice trembled even more violently. He felt his body stiffen and he couldn't move.

The dark figure drew closer and closer...

"Li'er..."
