Chapter 86 Saving Private Artanis
“You want revenge on Amon?” Renault stepped forward, his eyes sharp as he stared at Alarak. “How can you prove you’re not playing us?”
Alarak looked at Renault, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes: "Hmph, pathetic short-lived species."
"I don't want to be stabbed in the back after releasing you." Vorazun held the psionic scythe horizontally in front of his chest.
"You're wasting your time! If I wanted you dead, you would have been dead long ago!" Alarak finally lost his patience. Crimson psionic energy gathered in his hand, and the powerful psionic energy directly broke through the energy prison of the Spear of Adun.
“Amon betrayed my people, and He must pay the price. If your archbishop were still alive, he could help me.” Alarak walked slowly to Vorazun, his voice filled with confidence. “The decision is yours.”
Renault put away his pistol. He finally understood that the man in front of him, Alarak, was Amon's traitor; otherwise, the fanatic would have died instead of just falling.
“I have something to say.” Renault interrupted Vorazun’s thoughts, and both Protoss looked at him.
“Kirsar can definitely save Artanis unless Amon does it himself,” Reno said with a relaxed expression.
Despite the urgency, he quietly called for his brothers.
Since the Protoss typically don't notice radio communications, Alarak was completely unaware of them.
He turned to Renault and asked, "That creature that looks like a human?"
Renault nodded and replied, "Yes, she is our companion and one of our strengths."
Alarak smiled and said, "She can save herself, but how can you be sure she can save Artanis?"
Just then, footsteps approached, and dozens of council guards and rangers equipped with anti-psy weapons quickly surrounded Alarak.
By this time, the Rangers had arrived at the scene and surrounded Alarak.
Alarak watched this scene, a slight smirk playing on his lips, and let out a disdainful sound.
Renault walked up to Vorazun, stared intently at Alarak, and said firmly, "I have my own way."
“Thank you, Jim Raynor.” Vorazun looked at the two facing off and finally couldn’t help but speak up, “But the Protoss cannot lose Artanis, we cannot stand idly by.”
As she spoke, she looked at Alarak, her eyes flashing with a cold light, "Take us to Artanis."
“A wise choice.” Alarak raised an eyebrow at Renault defiantly.
"cut."
Urna, in the temple
“This is the last Hall of Revelation.” Artanis looked at the huge triangular monolith before him, his heart filled with anticipation and tension.
He knew that this might contain Xel'Naga's final words to them.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Kirsaj was forcefully tearing off a limb from a hybrid behemoth.
Her eyes gleamed with curiosity; she planned to take these things back and study them carefully.
“Aren’t you going to come and see?” Kerrigan turned around and called out to Kirsaj.
The image of Kearsarge tearing apart hybrids along the way was deeply imprinted in her mind, making her worry that her child might end up like Kearsarge.
However, Kirsar simply shook his head, indicating his refusal.
Kirsaj sighed inwardly as he looked at Kerrigan's worried expression.
Actually, she didn't want to do it herself, but unfortunately, the hybrids all possessed powerful psionic energy, and the matter recombination device simply couldn't break them down.
Therefore, she could only solve this problem on her own.
“I’m not coming.” Kirsaj casually sat on the remains of a hybrid ruler, propping her head up with her hands, her cheeks slightly puffed out, her big, blinking purple eyes looking at the Zerg and Protoss in front of her.
“Then let’s begin, Artanis. Your god owes us many answers,” Kerrigan said, turning to the waiting Artanis.
Artanis took a deep breath, nodded, and then slowly walked toward the triangular monument.
He reached out and gently touched the surface of the stone tablet, feeling the mysterious energy emanating from it.
As he touched it, the stone began to shine with a dazzling light, and psionic mist spread in his eyes.
Ancient scenes appeared before his eyes, and his mind observed these scenes, accepting the message that the builder of the stone tablet wanted to convey to him.
"The Xel'Naga are right ahead of us... In the Hall of Ascension, countless civilizations have risen, perished, and risen again during their slumber."
"They will awaken when the two destined races arrive, and their elders will sacrifice their lives to infuse the newborn with their essence... and the pure essence and pure form will be reborn as the Xel'Naga, the guardians of endless cycles of reincarnation."
As Artanis's voice faded, the Hall of Revelation lost its light and became an ordinary stone monument.
"So... what do you mean? Are you ready to meet your creator?" Kerrigan had been listening to Artanis's explanation and had learned about the contents of the stone tablet erected by the Xel'Naga.
“Yes, come on, the Hall of Ascension is just ahead, our last savior is inside.” Artanis’s eyes shone with anticipation.
"I'm here." Seeing the two begin to move, Kirsaj also came over, reminding the two chosen ones that there were others as well. The three of them stepped through the door behind the Hall of Revelation.
As they walked, all three noticed that the passageway was somewhat damaged, which gave them a sense of foreboding.
Finally, they arrived at the Hall of Ascension, but all they could see was the faint light emanating from the crystal towers on the walls, making the entire hall appear exceptionally eerie.
“Something’s not right here.” Kerrigan looked at the silent Hall of Ascension, her brows furrowing deeply.
Artanis turned to look at Kirsaji and gestured for her to turn on her lights.
As a soft white light appeared, temporarily illuminating the Hall of Ascension, the three finally saw what was hidden in the darkness.
"Xel'Naga!" Artanis exclaimed in surprise as he saw the form of a Xel'Naga and teleported to its side without hesitation.
However, upon closer inspection, he let out a wailing cry: "No!"
It turns out that this Xel'Naga was already dead.
Kerrigan looked around and found many other Xel'Naga lying there just as quietly, lifeless.
“They’re all dead,” she said softly, looking at these once powerful beings now just cold corpses.
It's hard to imagine what killed these creator gods.
Artanis wandered aimlessly among the Xel'Naga corpses, unsure of what to do next.
"Artanis..."
A whisper came from the Hall of Ascension, and Artanis, who knew the voice all too well, sharpened his eyes: "Amon."
Artanis!
A crimson beam of light shone down on Artanis from the far end of the Hall of Ascension, causing his body to float uncontrollably into the air.
A blood-red scene appeared in Artanis's eyes: countless hybrid incubation chambers, and above them stood an enormous being.
"Do you see? I possess the essence of the ruler, and the purpose of your existence has been achieved."
“My body is complete now. With it, I can end this cycle and end all suffering.”
The crimson light gradually faded, and Artanis fell heavily to the ground, but he quickly got up.
"Don't think you can easily break my will, Amon!" Artanis's voice was filled with rage. "The Firstborn Son of God no longer fears you!"
