Chapter 303 Palpatine in a Meeting

"The corruption and cowardice of the Galactic Republic have become apparent. Therefore, I hereby declare the Galactic Empire officially established..."

Palpatine sat quietly in his office, listening to a broadcast from the former Independent Galaxy Confederation.

A complex mix of emotions welled up within him, a mixture of surprise at the opponent's rapid rise and anxiety about whether he could defeat this formidable adversary.

Palpatine knew that it was no easy feat for Kilsazzi to not only successfully integrate the previously scattered forces of the Independent Galaxy Confederation in such a short period of time, but also to rise to the pinnacle of power so quickly.

He couldn't help but think of himself and his deceased teacher, Darth Preggs, neither of whom was as capable in this regard as the other.

Despite Palpatine's decades-long planning, facing such a formidable enemy, he began to doubt whether he could truly achieve ultimate victory in this war.

"Speaker, the meeting is about to begin," a red-clad guard interrupted Palpatine's thoughts, reminding him softly.

Palpatine took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, then slowly stood up and turned to walk towards the interim council hall of the Galactic Republic.

Meanwhile, while Palpatine was still in a meeting, Kirsar had already issued the next operational orders to the Galactic Empire fleet.

The assault fleet, led by Grievous, was a Resurrection-class D-type Star Destroyer as its flagship, and consisted of four Resurrection-class D-type Star Destroyers, fifty Resurrection-class B-type Star Destroyers, fifty Resurrection-class C-type Star Destroyers, fifty Resurrection-class S-type Star Destroyers, two hundred axial gun frigates, and other small and auxiliary vessels.

Led by Skywalker and with Anakin as his second-in-command, the Annihilation Fleet used a Dominion-class Titan as its flagship and consisted of five Revival-class D-type Star Destroyers, fifty Revival-class B-type Star Destroyers, fifty Revival-class C-type Star Destroyers, fifty Revival-class S-type Star Destroyers, four hundred axial gun frigates, and other small and auxiliary vessels.

Finally, the Royal Navy fleet, led by the Abyss Lord's Omen Ark and personally commanded by Kirsaj, made its grand entrance.

The size of this fleet depended entirely on Kearsarge's interests, and its warships were not uniform in type.

In this fleet, you can see warships that resemble Gothic cathedrals, as well as warships shaped like giant crosses; there are also mushroom-shaped ships surrounded by biological vessels.

The other warships were left behind by Kilzaghi to guard their homeland.

However, they are not merely a defensive force, but rather exist as a reserve force, ready to respond to the call of the main fleet at any time.

These three attack fleets each targeted three key inner-ring industrial planets of the Galactic Republic, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to their industrial capabilities while their naval forces were weak.

Although this was not absolutely necessary for Kilsager, it offered a glimmer of hope to the Galactic Republic Council, preventing it from collapsing prematurely in the war.

Kilsager felt that relying solely on hypothetical enemies was far from enough to obtain ships designed for interstellar combat.

Although the Galactic Empire's warships have already put significant pressure on the Galactic Republic, she believes it is still necessary to acquire some actual warship data and combat experience.

Upon learning that the three fleets had moved out without any concealment, Palpatine reacted swiftly and immediately dispatched his own fleet to intercept them.

However, when he learned that the Lord of the Abyss, the Ark of Ominousness, had also appeared, Palpatine realized that the situation was far more serious than he had imagined.

Therefore, he did not hesitate to urgently dispatch a large number of Jagdpanzer-class cruisers, including the newly completed Empire-class cruisers and Empire-class Type II cruisers, to join the ranks of those blocking the Royal Navy fleet.

Furthermore, Palpatine also deployed most of his Sith apprentices to the support fleet.

He reasoned that if these Sith apprentices could successfully board the Abyss Lord's Ominous Ark, they might pose a threat to the female Sith.

However, poor Palpatine was completely unaware that the enemy he was facing was not human at all.

Even if a dozen of them were tied together, they would be no match for Kilsazzi, let alone those Sith apprentices.

These Sith apprentices and the supporting Republic warships were as if Palpatine had ruthlessly abandoned them, sending them into an inescapable abyss.

They were extremely nervous, filled with both a desire for victory and a fear of defeat.

However, despite the unknowns and dangers ahead, they resolutely marched towards the dead end of blocking the Royal Fleet.

Skywalker stared at Anakin's planned route, shook his head, and sighed, "You're too hasty, Anakin."

He was well aware of the Dominion-class battleship's formidable power, especially with two Anakin Skywalkers on board.

However, Anakin disagreed with Skywalker's views.

He firmly believed that the current fleet was powerful enough to quickly achieve its objectives and further expand its gains.

He retorted, "You're just too conservative!"

In his view, opportunities are fleeting, and if one does not act decisively, one may miss the chance.

"Our primary objective is to destroy the Republic's remaining warships and identify design flaws, not to drive the Galactic Republic to despair." Skywalker's voice was calm and indifferent, as if this were just an ordinary mission.

His gaze slowly swept over Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was imprisoned on the bridge of the Dominion-class ship, and then settled on him, as if waiting for the other's response.

Obi-Wan stared wide-eyed at Anakin, his lips pressed tightly together, not uttering a word.

His face was filled with anger and resentment, but even more so with disappointment at his former apprentice who was now his enemy.

“Given our current state, Obi-Wan definitely won’t answer us.” Anakin looked at Obi-Wan and shook his head helplessly.

His voice carried a hint of regret, for he knew that the bond between master and disciple had been completely destroyed in this war.

Anakin and Skywalker both stand on the edge of the light and the dark, and their images appear somewhat blurred.

However, Anakin leans more towards the light side, while Skywalker leans more towards the dark side, and this subtle difference makes their relationship increasingly complex and unpredictable.

“I never imagined you would be me in the future,” Anakin suddenly turned to look out the porthole, gazing at the endless universe, and said with emotion.

Skywalker did not respond to Anakin's exclamation; his attention was entirely focused on Anakin's neck.

A hint of mockery flickered in his eyes, as if he were hinting at something.

Anakin felt a little uncomfortable under Skywalker's gaze. He subconsciously tugged at his collar and asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

“Perhaps I shouldn’t interfere in your private life, but there are some obvious things that need to be addressed.” Skywalker said before leaving the bridge.

“You’ve really changed a lot, Anakin.” Obi-Wan finally spoke after Skywalker left.

Anakin wiped the lipstick mark off his neck and replied, "The Galactic Republic can't win, Obi-Wan."

"Her Majesty Kirsage is more powerful than you can imagine; she will surely prevail in her duel with Darth Sidious."
