Chapter 283 The Night Before the Storm

A dream, like a nightmare, haunted Anakin.

This dream, which he didn't know when it started, had been playing on a loop in his mind.

In his dream, Anakin is horrified to discover that he has strangled the person he loves most, the love of his life, with his own hands, and he has taken her life without mercy, like a demon.

Immediately afterwards, he brandished his lightsaber and engaged in a life-or-death battle with his master.

As the lightsabers clashed, sparks flew, and the bond between master and disciple was utterly torn apart at that moment.

However, this is not the end of the dream.

At the end of the dream, Anakin saw himself—a black Sith whose face was completely disfigured.

He knelt before a man draped in black robes, an incredibly old, wrinkled, and ashen-faced Sith Lord.

This Sith Lord became his master, guiding him into the abyss of darkness.

Whenever this dream occurred to Anakin, he would wake up suddenly, his heart pounding and his forehead covered in cold sweat.

He was tormented by this terrible dream, but dared not tell Obi-Wan Kenobi or any other Jedi Master.

He feared they would become suspicious of him and might even expel him from the Jedi Order.

However, deep down, Anakin's fears and anxieties lingered.

Unable to bear the secret alone, he privately confided his concerns to Padmé.

Upon hearing his description, Padmé immediately realized the seriousness of the situation. Knowing the impact this dream had on Anakin, she advised him to bravely tell Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was not only Anakin's mentor, but also his benefactor who raised him to adulthood. Padmé believed that Obi-Wan Kenobi must have a way to help Anakin escape this terrible nightmare.

Anakin struggled internally for a long time before finally deciding to heed Padmé's advice. However, he did not reveal the entire contents of the dream. After careful consideration, he deleted most of the key information and only told Obi-Wan that he had seen two Sith in his dream.

Obi-Wan could tell at a glance that Anakin was hiding something from him, but he didn't delve into it. Instead, he learned the general appearances of the two Sith and began to think about it.

The two Sith had clearly suffered irreparable damage at some point, but they pulled themselves out of their predicament.

Or, Obi-Wan had heard that the Sith had a practice of amplifying their Force through their emotions, perhaps turning themselves into something neither human nor monster.

In that instant, Obi-Wan's conviction grew stronger; he was convinced that Anakin was the chosen one.

Anakin's demonstrated potential with the Force is so astonishing that he can also reveal the true nature of the enemy to the Jedi Order.

“I will tell the other Jedi Masters what the Sith looks like and see if they have ever encountered someone similar.” Obi-Wan made up his mind that he would no longer face this problem alone, but would seek the help of other Jedi Masters.

After all, he didn't have any memory of such a person.

“It seems you can’t help me, Master.” Anakin’s voice betrayed a hint of frustration. He had hoped that Obi-Wan could give him a direct answer, but now it seemed that hope had been dashed.

Obi-Wan smiled slightly and teased, "If you're willing to tell me the part you're hiding, maybe I'll have a better solution."

However, he knew very well that Anakin would not easily reveal this secret.

“Was I wrong, Master?” Anakin seemed uneasy, beginning to doubt whether his decision was correct.

Obi-Wan stopped, turned around and walked up to Anakin, gently patted him on the shoulder, and comforted him, "I've always believed that you are the chosen one of prophecy."

These words were like a warm current flowing into Anakin's heart, bringing him some comfort.

"Even though I was once defeated by a Sith like myself?" Anakin's mind involuntarily conjured up the image of Skywalker, that powerful and terrifying being who became an insurmountable obstacle in his heart.

Obi-Wan was clearly taken aback by Anakin's words, and he paused for a moment.

The Skywalker's strength is indeed not to be underestimated; in fact, it could be considered a huge threat.

Perhaps only if Master Yoda himself intervenes could he possibly contend with him.

Obi-Wan stared at Anakin's expression and roughly understood why he had been plagued by nightmares.

That powerful Sith has undoubtedly become Anakin's lifelong nightmare.

To escape this nightmare, perhaps the only way is for Anakin to personally defeat Skywalker.

“Then hone your skills on the battlefield, Anakin,” Obi-Wan encouraged. “You are stronger than anyone else, and I believe you can defeat him.”

Anakin took a deep breath and nodded. "I will."

His voice, though not loud, was full of determination and confidence.

At this moment, the Jedi Order recognized him as the first Sith Lord to appear in the war, who was bored and lying on the table.

In this war between the Independent Galaxy Confederation and the Galactic Republic, both sides have entered a phase known as "garbage time."

This meant that the war progressed slowly and sluggishly, with both sides cautiously probing and pulling each other along the front lines, neither willing to launch a large-scale attack easily.

In space battles, both sides had their share of victories and defeats, but the Independent System Confederation gained a certain advantage on some battlefields due to the start of mass production of the Resurrection-class Star Destroyers. These powerful warships put enormous pressure on the Galactic Republic's fleet.

Meanwhile, Kirsage's Ominous Ark appears frequently on various battlefields, her aim being to obtain firsthand information that could break the deadlock.

However, despite the repeated relocations of the Ark of Ominous Signs, it never achieved its goal.

However, what Kirsaëns didn't know was that part of the reason why a large-scale battle between the two sides hadn't broken out was related to her.

As the Ominous Ark continued to move, some curious pilots accidentally discovered the moving nebula, and eventually they saw the Ominous Ark within the nebula.

Those Jedi Knights who had deliberately concealed themselves immediately relayed the news back to the Galactic Republic Council after sensing the terrible negative emotions emanating from the Ominous Ark.

This news was like a bombshell, causing a huge uproar in parliament, and even Palpatine was stunned.

As for how those Jedi Knights brought back the message, the reason is actually quite simple.

Kirsaj made no special effort to conceal the Ark of Doom. This demonic warship, forged from countless souls, already possessed terrifying negative emotions. As for concealment, that was merely a passive effect of her own.

She didn't care whether the Jedi discovered her or not; if she truly wanted to hide herself, no one could find her.

Having gained valuable development time, the Independent Star Confederation immediately expanded the construction of the Revival-class Star Destroyers. A large number of Revival-class destroyers, along with two assembled Conqueror heavy cruisers, became the main force of their next plan.

For their plan, they even approached Kirsaj and asked him to get Skywalker's assistance, or even better, the help of the Ominous Ark.

Kirsage did not fully agree to the request from the Independent Galaxy Confederation, but she still sent Skywalker to change the course of the galactic war.

Moreover, for some ulterior motive, Kilzag would provide them with a large-scale teleportation, allowing their fleet to bypass the Republic's surveillance and reach the planets they planned to attack directly.

A storm is brewing, and neither the Republic nor the Jedi Order knows it.
