Chapter 24 Behemoths and Newcomers

"Is this really okay?" Amiya looked at the bright red broth in the pot, her throat bobbing as she swallowed hard.

"It should be, probably, no problem..." An Su also stared at the pot of bright red soup base, a hint of doubt in her eyes, but she was still not quite sure whether the chilled juice that Kearsarge had given her could quench the spiciness.

"It's quite delicious." The doctor looked relaxed. He picked up a slice of tender meat, dipped it lightly in the pot, and then put it in his mouth, enjoying the unique spiciness and tender texture. He ate it happily.

"Doctor, isn't it spicy?" Amiya asked with a puzzled look on her face as she watched the Doctor enjoying his meal.

"It's not as spicy as it looks?!" Ansuo exclaimed, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes after hearing the doctor's answer. Then, she eagerly dipped a few slices of meat in the hot pot and began to eat them heartily.

However, after eating only a few slices of meat, An Suo's face turned bright red, like a ripe apple.

She hurriedly took out the Tyke water bottle that Chirsar had given her from behind her, opened the lid, and found it filled with chilled juice.

She quickly poured herself a glass and drank it all in one gulp.

"Wow, that feels so good!" An Suo let out a long sigh of relief, his mouth, which had been burning from the spiciness, was instantly soothed.

At this moment, the doctor continued to eat silently, seemingly completely immersed in the world of food.

Amiya watched the two eating and drinking heartily, hesitated for a moment, and finally mustered up her courage to try picking up a few slices of meat, carefully dipping them in the pot for a few seconds, and then putting them in her mouth.

But after just one bite, Amiya was rendered speechless by the intense spiciness.

Her eyes were wide open, her face was flushed, and her mouth was slightly open, making "hissing" sounds.

"Hey sis, that's not how you eat hot pot." A bright red arm suddenly landed on Amiya's shoulder, startling her.

Amiya looked up at the owner of her arm and saw a pair of bright red dragon horns on the head of the person in front of her. The person had a hint of a smile in their purple eyes and was staring at her intently.

"Let me tell you, spiciness is a lifestyle. When the slight stinging sensation and intense spiciness explode on your tongue, you feel, 'Ah, my life is truly flavorful.'"

"Ah... Miss, um... isn't the Sichuan hot pot a little too spicy?" Amiya asked cautiously with an awkward yet polite smile.

"Oh dear, the hot pot at this restaurant isn't spicy enough!" The woman waved her hand, a hint of dissatisfaction on her lips. "Longmen is a nice place, but the flavors are just a bit too bland."

As she spoke, she shook her head, seemingly somewhat disappointed with the local food culture.

"No way..." Amiya began to imagine just how spicy authentic Sichuan hot pot would be. Just as she was lost in thought, the woman suddenly withdrew her hand, stood up, and left humming a cheerful tune.

"Wait, what's your name?" Amiya then realized she had forgotten to ask the woman's name.

"My name is Nian, and I'm a director." The woman turned around, smiled slightly, and then turned and left.

“Nian.” Amiya watched Nian’s departing figure, feeling lost and forlorn. She could sense the fear hidden beneath Nian’s nonchalance, but what was she afraid of?

"Amiya, Inspector Chen is calling us. Let's finish eating and leave quickly." At this moment, An Su received a message from Chen Huijie.

"Ah."

At the Lungmen Governor's Mansion, Azure Star was explaining the Lava Dragon to those present and deducing its current situation based on the information gathered by Kil'jaeden.

“Originium can not only release energy but also store energy. The energy released after it dies should be even smaller.” Azure Star stroked his chin, looking at the picture of Lava Dragon on the table.

"If it's looking for a burial ground, why would it come to Lungmen?" Wei Yanwu didn't care what would happen to the Lava Dragon; he only cared about Lungmen.

"According to the scholars' deductions, the Lava Dragon is moving towards a high-energy region, and the Originium Reactor in Lungmen may have affected it." Azure Star crossed his arms and paced back and forth. "Your Originium Reactor is different from the one Uncle Raynor and his people have. Even if it is not activated, it is a huge energy source."

“Secondly, it should be because it’s close to Lungmen, and it subconsciously seeks out the nearest energy source,” Killer Jake continued Azure Star’s words.

“What about Chernobog?” Wei Yanwu asked.

“There’s only one core city coming now, much smaller than Lungmen, and its power is probably much lower as well,” Kilsaji replied. “But that’s a good thing, it makes it easier for us to defeat the Lava Dragon.”

"I'm afraid the Originium will make the Lava Dragon extremely obsessive," Chen Huijie said, frowning.

“It’s not that obsessive; it didn’t chase us after we left.” Killer Jerry felt the tremor. “The Lungmen is starting to move?”

"Yes, we're accelerating, but the Lava Dragon is still faster than us." Chen Huijie confirmed Kil's idea, but didn't forget the current problem.

"It's alright, being able to move is better than not being able to move." The numbers that were refreshed on the large display screen of Kil'jaeden were the time when the Lava Dragon arrived.

"The situation here is a bit bad," Renault said, looking at the location of Lungmen on the map. "Should we arrange for the evacuation of civilians?"

“Not everyone can survive in the wilderness outside Lungmen,” Wei Yanwu tapped his pipe. “Besides, there’s no guarantee that the Ursus army won’t prey on civilians.”

"So, the only way out is to defeat the Lava Dragon." Azure Star suddenly slammed his hands on the table. "I'm getting fired up!"

"Is she really reliable?" For the first time, the Emperor felt incredibly composed.

"Is there no other way?" Lin clapped lightly and replied to the Emperor with a smile, "It's a good thing that young people are energetic."

"Then the plan is settled. We'll inform the Rhodes Island people when they arrive." Wei Yanwu looked at everyone and nodded when no one had any objections.

"Mr. Wei, did you call us?" Speak of the devil, and he appears; Amiya and the doctor arrive at the conference room.

The people in the conference room exchanged glances, and finally Chen Huijie stepped forward to explain: "We have a new request and would like to ask Rhodes Island for help."

"Please explain, Commander Chen." Amiya looked at Chen Huijie's serious expression and had a bad feeling.

"You felt the Dragon Gate move just now, right? That's us putting distance between ourselves and a giant beast."

"Is a giant beast approaching Lungmen?" Amiya had never dealt with anything involving giant beasts before and was a little at a loss.

"You should inform Dr. Kal'tsit first." Chen Huijie looked at this leader of Rhodes Island with a sigh.

“Okay.” Amiya knew this wasn’t the time to show off, and besides, the Doctor couldn’t offer her any help.

"The afterglow of the setting sun." Azure Star picked up her great hammer; a great hammer was more effective at dealing with the heat dissipation organs of the Lavasioth.

"This is also a team-building activity in the group, right?" Renault, dressed in black power armor, stood beside her like an iron tower.

"Oh ho." Renault raised an eyebrow when he saw the word "El".
