Chapter 176 Exorcising the Dead Zone

“Demon…” Accompanied by a low and chilling murmur, Tarasin descended silently like a ghost upon the Ursus Fourth Army’s military district.

This place is the northern border of Ursus, a place of biting winds and desolate landscape.

Behind Tarasim, the massive tombstone gate slowly opened, as if the entrance to the abyss of hell had been forcibly torn open.

Immediately afterwards, countless Netherworld Scarabs surged out of the door like a surging black tide, densely covering the entire land.

Following this terrifying swarm of insects, squads of undead warriors marched in perfect unison.

With a phase sword emitting a faint green glow, Wild Scorpion swiftly passed Tarasin ahead and sped straight north.

However, their movements did not escape the keen eyes of the Northern Guards hiding in the shadows.

When the inner guards saw this sinister and terrifying undead legion, a chill ran down their spines.

Without hesitation, they quickly started the vehicles they had hidden beforehand and sped towards the headquarters of the Fourth Army to issue an emergency alert.

"Hiss~ Whoosh~ These guys are up to no good." One of the guards thought to himself as he sped off in his car, recalling the undead legion he had just encountered.

Indeed, judging from the appearance of this undead legion alone, it gave no impression whatsoever that they had come to provide friendly reinforcements or supplies.

On the contrary, the aura of death they exuded was chilling.

The Fourth Army has always stood firm on the front line against the invasion of evil forces, but they have little interest in the infighting between political factions.

In their eyes, they would gladly accept any support sent by any regime to aid in the fight against evil.

Because they are neither loyal to His Majesty the Emperor, who is high above them, nor do they obey the orders of the powerful Dukes of Ursus.

Their sole mission is to protect this land and completely eliminate any evil forces that attempt to invade Ursus.

However, at this moment, facing this suddenly appearing and mysteriously originating robot army in the ancient ruins, the Fourth Army had to be on high alert.

After all, any oversight could lead to disastrous consequences.

On this battlefield fraught with uncertainty and danger, every detail and every action must be approached with utmost care.

The guard's vehicle sped over a small hill and then disappeared into the bushes, accompanied by the sound of breathing.

A hunched, silver figure came into view, and an eerie tombstone door opened behind it.

As the undead army poured out of the Tombstone Gate, the guard immediately stood up and started the hidden vehicle.

"Hiss~ Whoosh~ This guy is up to no good."

Tarasin stroked the Dimensional Cube, delighted to have acquired a barely acceptable collectible so soon after arriving in the northern border of Ursus.

Tarachin came here to set up a spirit-exorcising dead zone covering the entire Ursus Fourth Army's military district.

As for the Ursus Fourth Army located in the Exorcism Dead Zone, Tarasin thought the museum would be a good place to go, but he wouldn't collect a large group of people; whether they survived or not was up to them.

"Cold, so cold." An Ursus soldier reached out his hands to the shield guard in the camp, as if to embrace him.

What awaited him was the massive slam of the shield, like a watermelon bursting open, and the Ursus soldier's brains splattered out along with his exploding head.

"A new tactic of the demons?" Sergeyev, the captain of the shield guard squad, felt a chill creeping into his body. This was the seventh strange ally he had killed.

"Captain... I feel... so cold too." One of the shield guards began to tremble.

"Strengthen your will, soldiers! This must be the work of evil. If your soul is taken, I will crush your head with my own hands!" Sergeyev, holding a giant shield, walked at the forefront.

After shouting, Sergeyev felt sweat pouring down his armor. He was completely bewildered: "What on earth happened?"

"Captain, it's an inside guard!"

A black figure stood silently in front of the Shield Guard squad.

"No... everyone on alert!" Sergeyev raised his giant shield, staring intently at the "inner guard."

Following Sergeyev's order, the other shield guards immediately formed a defensive formation, and their focused attention also alerted them to the abnormality of the "inner guards."

The black figure kept changing shape, and cold sweat poured down their faces. It was a demon!

"@%%¥&%%!"

The incomprehensible cries reached the ears of the Shield Guard squad, and Sergeyev gestured backward to retreat.

While the demonic fragments within the body of the inner guard were still bound, Sergeyev prepared to have the shield guard squad move away from him.

"Captain, I'm cold, so cold...cold, so cold..."

Just then, a bad situation occurred in the shield guard squad. The shield guard who had spoken earlier was trembling, and Sergeyev quickly noticed that something was wrong with him.

“Igor, just hold on a little longer. Once we’re away from that thing, I’ll change your armor.” Sergeyev was a bit exasperated. Before they set off, Igor’s armor must have been intact. Now he looked just like the soldiers they had killed before.

"Perhaps there's a tear somewhere in the armor, causing hypothermia," Sergeyev told himself, pulling out his staff, which he never normally used.

"Cold!" Igor suddenly sprang up and lunged at another shield guard standing nearby.

Sergeyev immediately used his staff, and a ball of energy accurately struck Igor's vulnerable area on the head.

Igor's body fell to the ground, and the shield guards he had knocked down pushed his body aside and scrambled to their feet.

"cold......"

A strange voice echoed in the minds of the shield guard squad. Sergeyev, realizing something, looked at the "inner guard" and then his face turned deathly pale.

On the not-so-tall body of the "inner guard," hundreds of eyes darted around haphazardly.

"Prepare for battle!" Sergeyev attacked again with his staff.

Just as the energy ball was about to hit him, Sergeyev felt his vision suddenly blur, as if his television had malfunctioned.

When he looked at the "Inner Guard" again, the energy cluster had flown away to who-knows-where, and the "Inner Guard" appeared before him as if it had teleported.

"cold!"

It was as if hundreds of creatures were screaming in his ears, and Sergeyev understood the meaning of "internal guard".

Countless hands reached out from the "inner guard's" body, constantly grasping, as if trying to grab something unseen.

The "inner guards" approached Sergeyev step by step, and Sergeyev kept shooting with his staff, but for some reason none of the energy orbs hit their mark.

For some reason, Sergeyev always felt that the "inner guard" in front of him was struggling to survive, and he kept increasing the distance between himself and the "inner guard".

"Boom."

Finally, the "inner guard" fell to the ground, and his outstretched arm gradually disappeared amidst the shrieking.

"Phew." Sergeyev tried to wipe the cold sweat from his brow, then reached for his helmet.

"Captain, I'm a little cold."

As the familiar words rang out, Sergeyev's face turned deathly pale once more.
