Reborn not to be a simp, the school beauty's whole family goes crazy
Chapter 430 Shen Yue's Triumph
Chen Dong raised his head, looked at Chu Mengran, and forced a smile, but the smile concealed his exhaustion and anger.
"I'm fine, just a little angry. I'm so grateful you were quick-witted and called the police in time, otherwise I don't know what would have happened. If anything had happened to you, I would never forgive myself."
Chu Mengran sat down next to Chen Dong and gently took his hand. Her hand was warm and soft, conveying comfort and strength.
"As long as you're safe and sound, that's all that matters. Today was really scary; I was so afraid of losing you. We need to be more careful in the future and avoid encountering anything like this again."
The two spoke softly, their words like a gentle breeze, slowly soothing each other's emotions.
Then, they lay down on the bed, and Chen Dong reached out and turned off the light, instantly plunging the entire room into darkness.
In the darkness, they huddled together, their body heat and heartbeats becoming each other's strongest support.
Although today's experience left them with lingering fears, their companionship at this moment brought them peace of mind.
As they breathed softly, they drifted off to sleep, hoping that the new day would bring peace and tranquility, leaving this terrible memory forever in the past.
Deputy Director Zhang hung up the phone, a slight smile playing on his lips, a look of both reproach and scorn on his face. He chuckled and cursed, "That bastard Chen Jianguo, he's always like this, he owes me another drink."
As he spoke, he gently shook his head, but his eyes held a familiar smile, clearly indicating a close relationship with Chen Jianguo.
He reached up and straightened the collar of his uniform with a clean and efficient motion, then strode to his desk, picked up the phone, and quickly dialed the police station's number.
As soon as the call connected, his voice instantly became serious and forceful: "Hello, this is Deputy Director Zhang. Bring that suspect named Tao Hao here immediately. Be careful on the way and make sure nothing goes wrong."
These few words, though brief, exuded an unquestionable authority.
After hanging up the phone, Deputy Director Zhang checked the time, tidied up the documents on his desk, and got up to leave the office.
He walked steadily to the detention center. Inside, the atmosphere was oppressive and quiet, with only the occasional sound of footsteps and the distant sound of iron gates opening and closing.
He found the person in charge of the detention center and earnestly instructed, "Take good care of Tao Hao, the guy who was brought in today. Make sure all the necessary procedures are followed without skipping a single step. Keep a close eye on him."
The person in charge nodded in agreement and watched Deputy Director Zhang leave.
Less than half an hour later, Tao Hao was taken to the police station detention center.
His eyes still held confusion and fear, and his steps were unsteady. He was carried by two policemen, one on each side, into the detention center.
"Get in!"
The police officer gave a brief and forceful order, and Tao Hao stumbled as he was pushed into a multi-person cell.
Upon entering the cell, Tao Hao, like a startled deer, cautiously surveyed his surroundings.
The scene of him rushing towards Chen Dong with a knife kept replaying in his mind. He was filled with remorse and kept repeating to himself, "What did I do?"
"Why was I so impulsive? Even though I hate Chen Dong, I shouldn't have done something like this. It's all the fault of the alcohol at that bar; it made me lose my mind..."
His hands trembled involuntarily, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
However, before Tao Hao could recover from his thoughts, several prisoners quietly approached him.
Their eyes gleamed with malice, and their steps were as light as those of predatory wild animals.
By the time Tao Hao realized the danger, it was too late. A thick hand suddenly grabbed his hair and yanked it hard.
"what!"
Tao Hao screamed in pain, his body instinctively struggling, only to find himself firmly restrained.
"New guy, do you even know the rules?"
"A prisoner with a face full of scars said viciously, his voice low and hoarse, like sandpaper being rubbed.
He was shirtless, revealing his thick arms, on which was tattooed a menacing blue dragon, which was now glaring down at Tao Hao.
Tao Hao stared at him in horror, his lips trembling, unable to utter a single word, his eyes filled with helplessness and fear.
"Not going to talk? Fine, then I'll teach you!"
As the other prisoner spoke, a ferocious smile appeared on his face. He kicked Tao Hao hard in the back of the knee, and Tao Hao's knee buckled.
He knelt down on the ground with a thud.
The prisoner was tall and thin, but had a pair of powerful long legs. He was looking down at Tao Hao, as if admiring his "masterpiece".
At this moment, the seven prisoners in the cell surrounded Tao Hao.
They took turns giving Tao Hao a "lesson".
"Here, you have to wait for us to eat first, understand?"
A short prisoner approached Tao Hao, poked his head with his finger, and said loudly.
"Don't take up too much space when you sleep at night. If you dare to snore and disturb me, you'll be sorry!"
A prisoner with a scar on his face added menacingly, his voice full of threat.
"Also, if you don't want to get beaten up, just behave and don't try anything funny!"
The burly prisoner roared again and shoved Tao Hao hard, causing Tao Hao to lose his balance and fall to the ground.
Tao Hao curled up on the ground, covering his head with his hands, trying to protect himself.
His body trembled uncontrollably, and he mumbled, "I know, I know... please don't hit me..."
But the prisoners completely ignored his pleas.
"Got it? Just knowing isn't enough, you need to learn a lesson!"
As the tall, thin prisoner spoke, he raised his foot and kicked Tao Hao hard in the back.
With each kick, Tao Hao groaned in pain, his body swaying with the force of the blows.
"You dare to enter our territory and disobey us!"
The shorter prisoner joined in the beating, kicking Tao Hao's side repeatedly without mercy.
Tao Hao rolled on the ground in agony, his face contorted in pain, tears and sweat mingling and streaming down his cheeks.
He kept pleading, "Please, stop hitting me, I really know I was wrong..."
But the prisoners' beatings showed no signs of stopping.
The burly prisoner grabbed Tao Hao by the collar and lifted him off the ground, then punched him hard in the stomach.
Tao Hao felt as if his internal organs were churning, and a mouthful of sour water welled up in his mouth.
His body was limp and he no longer had the strength to struggle.
"Come on, let's argue again, grandpas?!"
As the burly prisoner spoke, he punched Tao Hao again, this time in the face, and blood immediately flowed from the corner of Tao Hao's mouth.
