Jade of Another World

Chapter 151 Farewell

Grandmother's hair was completely white, and her face was full of fear and worry; Aunt Liu tried to remain calm, but her eyes could not hide her fear; Uncle Zhong gritted his teeth and glared at Xuan Yuanche.

"Xuanyuan Che, you despicable scoundrel!" Lin Ning shouted angrily, her eyes blazing with fury. "Let them go, come at me!"

Xuan Yuanche sneered, brandishing his sword and pressing it against his grandmother's neck. His grandmother trembled slightly in fear. "Lin Ning, do you think you can leave so easily? Not so easy. If you dare to step into that portal, I will kill them immediately."

Lin Wan was also shocked by this sudden change and turned pale. She clenched her fists but dared not make any rash moves, for fear of angering Xuan Yuanche and putting her loved ones in an even more dangerous situation.

"Xuanyuan Che, what exactly do you want?" Lin Wan asked in a deep voice, barely suppressing her anger.

Xuan Yuanche's gaze swept back and forth between Lin Ning and Lin Wan, his eyes filled with madness and resentment: "I want Lin Ning to stay, to stay by my side forever. Lin Ning, as long as you promise not to leave me again and obey me, I will release them. Otherwise, when you leave, it will be the time they die. You should know that they all died because of you!"

Lin Ning was in immense pain, torn between the hope of returning home so close at hand and the safety of her loved ones. Tears welled in her eyes, her mind in turmoil, unsure of what to do.

"Sister, we can't agree to him!" Lin Wan said anxiously. "He won't let us go. If we lose this opportunity, we may never have another chance."

Looking into her grandmother's terrified eyes, and thinking of Aunt Liu and Uncle Zhong's countless sacrifices for the Lin family, Lin Ning felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She knew she couldn't just watch them die in front of her.

“Fine, I promise you, Xuan Yuanche.” Lin Ning gritted her teeth and said with difficulty, “You release them, and I will stay.”

"Sister!" Lin Wan looked at Lin Ning in disbelief, her eyes filled with anxiety and despair.

Xuanyuan Che laughed triumphantly, his laughter sounding particularly jarring in the tense atmosphere...

The light emanating from the portal gradually dimmed, and the countdown to its closure was nearing its end. Lin Ning looked at Lin Wan, who was so close to her, her heart filled with resolve. She knew that Lin Wan desperately wanted to return to her original world, and she couldn't let her miss that opportunity no matter what.

Lin Wan was still struggling desperately, trying to rush over and grab Lin Ning, shouting, "Sister, I can't leave you! Let's think of something together, there must be another way!"

However, Lin Ning didn't give her a chance. With a sudden burst of strength, she pushed Lin Wan towards the portal. Caught off guard, Lin Wan stumbled from the unexpected force and fell towards the light.

"Live out your share for me. I won't go back now!" Lin Ning shouted hoarsely, tears streaming uncontrollably down her cheeks and soaking her clothes.

As Lin Wan passed through the portal, she turned back to look at Lin Ning, her eyes filled with pain and reluctance. She reached out, trying to grab Lin Ning, but only grasped at empty air. As the portal slowly closed, Lin Wan's figure gradually disappeared into the light.

Xuan Yuanche watched this scene with a strange smile on his face. He slowly walked up to Lin Ning, his eyes filled with madness and possessiveness: "Lin Ning, you still can't escape my grasp after all. From today onwards, you'll stay by my side." With that, he turned and left.

Lin Ning raised her head, her eyes filled with hatred. She looked at Xuan Yuanche's back and said, word by word, "Xuan Yuanche, I will never do as you wish."

"Is that so? We'll see then." Xuan Yuanche snorted coldly, waved his hand, and signaled the guards to take Lin Ning away. Of course, Lin Ning's family members were also taken away.

Lin Ning was dragged away by the guards, but her eyes remained firm, without the slightest fear. She knew that although she couldn't return to her original world, she believed that Lin Wan would definitely live well, carrying her share of hope.

Lin Ning, escorted back to the palace, was plunged into an abyss of darkness once more. She remained in the Jade Pavilion, surrounded by utter silence, the only sound the echo of her own breathing in the empty room. Sitting on the floor, gazing at the sky outside the window, she silently prayed that Lin Wan was well in her original world, and that one day she too could escape this nightmarish bondage…
