Jade of Another World

Chapter 131 Fight violence with violence

Nangong Yu was imprisoned in the Heavenly Prison. The dark, damp cell reeked of a nauseating stench. He curled up on the cold stone bed, his hands covering his head, filled with remorse. He never imagined that his ambition would ultimately lead him to such a desperate situation.

In this desperate situation, the image of Lin Ning suddenly flashed through Nangong Yu's mind. He thought that Sister Lin Ning was kind-hearted, and perhaps out of consideration for their past acquaintance, she would help him. So, he began to observe everyone entering and leaving the cell, trying to find an opportunity to send a message to Lin Ning. Finally, one late night, he spotted a jailer who came to deliver food and bribed him with the little silver he had, begging him to deliver the message to Lin Ning, saying he had important matters to discuss and pleading with her to save his life out of consideration for their past relationship. The jailer accepted the silver, nodded in agreement, and hurried away, while Nangong Yu waited expectantly for Lin Ning's arrival…

Nangong Yu waited anxiously in his cell, each minute feeling like an eternity. He would sometimes get up and pace around the cramped cell, and sometimes sit down, straining his ears to catch any sounds outside, eagerly anticipating Lin Ning's appearance.

However, unbeknownst to him, the message he had sent had already been intercepted by Xuan Yuanche. Upon learning that Nangong Yu was attempting to seek help from Lin Ning, Xuan Yuanche felt an overwhelming surge of anger. He was well aware of Nangong Yu and Consort De's past actions, and yet Nangong Yu was still trying to contact Lin Ning.

Enraged, Xuan Yuanche went straight to the Heavenly Prison. The moment he stepped into the cell, he exuded a chilling aura, his eyes burning with fury. Nangong Yu saw Xuan Yuanche appear and a glimmer of hope had just been ignited, but the instant she saw his expression, her heart tightened, and an ominous premonition surged into her heart.

"You still have the nerve to ask Lin Ning to save you? Don't you even know if you're worthy!" Xuan Yuanche roared, then kicked Nangong Yu. Nangong Yu was kicked and fell to the ground. Before he could even struggle to get up, Xuan Yuanche went berserk, punching and kicking him.

At this moment, Xuan Yuanche was a completely different person from when he was governing the country and calmly discussing politics. His face was full of ferocity, and every attack was filled with hatred, as if he wanted to tear Nangong Yu to pieces.

Nangong Yu stared in terror at Xuan Yuanche before him, feeling as if he were facing a demon from hell. He tried to escape, but Xuan Yuanche held him firmly, leaving him only able to let out painful screams. The small cell echoed with Xuan Yuanche's furious roars and Nangong Yu's pitiful cries, as if a cruel trial was being administered to him…

Nangong Yu collapsed onto the cell floor, blood spreading beneath him and soaking the cold stone slabs. He struggled to lift his head, his eyes filled with hatred and terror as he stared intently at the demonic figure before him, Xuan Yuanche. His lips trembled, each word seeming to drain all his strength: "Who are you? You can't be Xuan Yuanche!"

Xuan Yuanche stopped, coldly glancing back at Nangong Yu lying in a pool of blood, his eyes devoid of any pity. "Just consider me a devil," he said, his voice low and icy, as if emanating from the deepest hell. Without giving Nangong Yu a chance to ask further questions, he turned and strode away from the prison.

The footsteps faded into the dark passage, leaving only the dying Nangong Yu behind. He stared in the direction Xuan Yuanche had gone, his consciousness gradually fading. In the silent prison, his thoughts began to drift, his mind filled with memories of his past—his pursuit of power, his schemes with Consort De—all now seeming like a bizarre nightmare.

At this moment, Xuan Yuanche, after leaving the prison, took a deep breath, trying to calm the turmoil in his heart. Even he himself was somewhat frightened by his loss of control in the cell. He knew he had to remain calm and rational at all times, controlling his anger. He silently warned himself that such emotional outbursts must never happen again, otherwise, things would be exposed.

Upon returning to the palace, Xuanyuan Che immediately threw himself into state affairs, as if the scene in the imperial prison had never happened. However, Nangong Yu's fearful and questioning gaze lingered in his mind...
