Lin Hao watched the little dumpling running around and was really afraid that he would get tired, so she quickly called out to him, "Baby, please stop! If you keep spinning around, I'll get dizzy!" As she spoke, she covered her head and pretended to be dizzy.

Seeing her like this, Xiao Baozi immediately braked, stopping so abruptly that Lin Hao had to help him to avoid falling.

"Mother, I won't run anymore, don't faint!" The little boy said anxiously, reaching out his little hand to try to pat her head, but he was too short and could only jump up and down in frustration.

Lin Hao lowered her head cooperatively so that the little dumpling could touch her, and said in a comforting tone, "Sure enough, when my baby touches me, I don't feel any pain anymore!"

"Yes, I'm great! It doesn't hurt!" The little boy proudly raised his smiling face, and the mother and son hugged each other, chatting and laughing, completely forgetting that there was someone else next to them.

Gu Liunian felt his presence was truly superfluous. He was the one who should have given the gift, but it was obvious that Gu Yu, this little brat, only cared about being happy with Lin Hao, who was only responsible for talking. He now understood what his mother meant: as long as Lin Hao was around, Gu Yu didn't see anyone else!

Fortunately, the awkwardness didn't last long. Tu Bai came in carrying a basket, and the little bun's eyes lit up immediately.

Lifting the blue cloth covering it, the little creatures inside were revealed. Lin Hao glanced at them and saw two chicks, two ducklings, and two goslings, all fluffy and very cute!

Tu Bai then boasted, "Madam, look! This is a breed I specially ordered to be selected because of its beautiful color and cleanliness."

"Good, not bad, you did a good job!" Lin Hao praised with a smile when he saw that the little guys were indeed as Tu Bai had said.

Tu Bai smiled so much his eyes almost closed into slits, and immediately replied, "With Madam's words, this servant is all set!" This amused Lin Hao, who smiled with her lips pursed.

Gu Liunian wondered why he hadn't noticed before how good Tu Bai was at flattering and ingratiating himself. It seemed he had been too idle lately!

Tu Bai was completely unaware that his attempt to please the madam had inadvertently offended someone. For a long time afterward, he wondered why his master had assigned him so many tasks. Some of the things that used to be Mo Ran's work were now piled on him, keeping him so busy that he barely had time to breathe.

At this moment, however, he knew nothing and looked at the madam and young master with excitement. After Lin Hao told him to ask Fu Cui to give him a serving of fish balls, he was overjoyed and kept praising the madam for her kindness. Gu Liunian's eyes darkened even more, and he said coldly, "Alright, you may leave!"

He, however, remained oblivious to anything amiss, and cheerfully bowed, saying to Lin Hao, "Madam, next time you need to run errands like this, please call me again, and I'll make sure it's done perfectly for you!"

Lin Hao smiled and agreed, watching him leave happily. Just as she was about to turn to Gu Liunian and say that the servant was really interesting, she saw Gu Liunian's eyes darken. For no reason, she just felt that it was better not to say anything. Shrinking her neck, she turned and went to see the little ones with Xiao Baozi.

Gu Liunian stared at her ever since she turned her head, seeing her looking at him excitedly as if she wanted to say something, but then turning away without saying a word. He was furious. But he also guessed what she wanted to say—it was nothing more than about that brat Tu Bai, and saying it would only make him angrier. Thinking of this, his breath hitched. What was wrong with him? When had he become so irrational?

After pondering for a long time without success, I felt irritable and restless. The chattering and laughter of the mother and son next to me only added to my annoyance, so I simply went out to my study.

Lin Hao, who was happily playing with the little dumpling, noticed his actions and thought this guy seemed crazy, acting completely out of line. How could he be unhappy sitting there like that? But whatever, it's none of my business!

Lin Haoming had a designated area under the ginkgo tree in the yard for the little creatures to play in, and the mother and son watched them wander around in their adorable antics. They only reluctantly left when Fu Cui came to remind them that it was time for lunch.

Lunch was just for the mother and son. Gu Liunian sent someone to tell them that he was busy and would eat in the study, telling them not to wait for him. Lin Hao was happy to be alone and didn't care at all! Little Baozi's attention was still on the little ones, so naturally he didn't think about his old father.

After lunch, Gu Yu, the little dumpling, couldn't wait to drag Lin Hao to see his little pets again. This time, Lin Hao gave him a task.

"Baby, we can't just look at them. How about I give you a task?" Lin Hao coaxed the little dumpling.

"What mission?" The little boy looked up curiously, his big, dark eyes staring at Lin Hao with a puzzled expression.

"We need to observe what's different about them. How about this, I'll make a table with some questions on it, and you can answer them, okay?"

"Okay!" Little Baozi was very supportive, but soon he lacked confidence and said, "What if Brother Yu doesn't know how?" After saying that, he looked at Lin Hao pitifully.

"Then let's observe together. If we really can't figure it out, we'll ask someone who does, okay?"

"Okay!" With his worries resolved, the little dumpling answered even louder.

Before setting off, Lin Hao went back inside and carefully drew up a table. The mother and son then excitedly ran towards the ginkgo tree.

After spending the whole afternoon, the two finally completed all the questions on the form, and also had Xiao Baozi draw a portrait of each of his pets.

When Gu Liunian returned in the evening, he was greeted by a thick stack of papers on the table. His face showed rare astonishment, not understanding what was going on.

Lin Hao gestured for him to look, and Gu Liunian flipped it over. At the top was a square grid drawing. The top row had "chicken," "duck," and "goose" written in small red characters. On the right were descriptions of feather color, beak, eyes, legs, size, and food. The remaining squares had details written in small black characters.

Looking at the square grid, Gu Liunian's eyes lit up. This simple classification made many things clear at a glance. If the Gu family's businesses could use such grids, purchasing and accounting would definitely save a lot of effort. Following this line of thought, his thinking gradually expanded.

Seeing that he was staring at the form without saying a word for a long time, Lin Hao waved her hand in front of him, "What's wrong? Are you going to be looking at it for so long?"

Gu Liunian snapped out of his reverie, suppressed his thoughts, and replied, "Nothing!" He then flipped through the pages and found a series of strangely drawn portraits. But this time, he didn't speak easily. Instead, he observed carefully for a long time and found a trace of the original owner in the portraits.

After confirming with his son, everything was indeed accurate. Seeing that his father could guess what he had drawn so quickly, the little boy was overjoyed. His mother was right; with observation and practice, one can improve at drawing! He would definitely practice more in the future and strive to draw as well as his father!
