A bed that traverses countless worlds

Chapter 85 The Ice Cave is Mysterious, Seeking Victory Amidst Peril

The ice cave was deep and cold, like the gaping maw of a giant beast.

Lin Yu maneuvered the magical bed slowly into the room. The bed emitted a faint light, barely illuminating the way ahead.

"Holy crap, this temperature is even colder than when the heating is off back home in winter!" Lin Yu complained, wrapping himself tighter in the blanket.

Kong Yang followed closely behind, rubbing his hands together and breathing on them to warm them up: "That's right, this ice cave is practically a natural giant refrigerator."

The Nordic warriors, however, were unfazed by the cold; they were strong and robust and had a certain resistance to the extreme cold.

However, as they ventured deeper into the ice cave, the biting cold began to seep into their clothes, causing them to shiver uncontrollably.

"This...this place is a bit eerie..." a soldier said in a low voice.

The cave was silent except for the faint sound of the bed wheels rolling over the ice and the slightly heavy breathing of the group.

In the darkness, countless unknown dangers seemed to lurk, and a suffocating atmosphere enveloped the entire team, with everyone's nerves stretched to the limit.

After walking for a long time, the largest and strongest of the Norse warriors finally couldn't hold back any longer.

“Hey, Bed Bro,” he said in a muffled voice, a hint of displeasure in his tone, “what are we doing wandering around in this freezing weather? Is your bed… even reliable?”

Lin Yu raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "What? You have a problem with my leadership skills?"

The burly man stuck out his neck: "It's not that I have any objections, it's just... I feel that I've put in the most effort and have the most experience, so I should lead the team!"

"Does putting in more effort equate to leadership?" Lin Yu sneered. "Brute force can sometimes only backfire. In this perilous place, what's needed more is wisdom and strategy."

The tension between the two escalated, and they were on the verge of arguing.

Kong Yang quickly tried to smooth things over: "Hey, hey, we're all teammates, let's not hurt our feelings. Old Lin's bed is indeed... amazing, let's find the Ice Temple first." While he was persuading him, he secretly winked at Lin Yu, signaling him to hold back for now.

Although Lin Yu was unhappy, he didn't want to start an internal conflict at this critical juncture.

He took a deep breath and steered the bed forward.

Suddenly, the bed shook violently and came to a stop.

"What happened?" Lin Yu frowned, as if the bed had bumped into something.

He manipulated the bedside lamp to shine forward and discovered an ice wall in front of him, which shimmered with a strange light.

"What...what is this?" Kong Yang exclaimed.

Lin Yu squinted, carefully observing the light on the ice wall, a strange sense of familiarity welling up in his heart.

"This light..." he murmured to himself, "It seems like I've seen it somewhere before..."

He reached out and touched the ice wall, and a powerful energy instantly surged into his body, making him tremble.

“I…I feel it…” He looked up, his eyes gleaming with excitement, “The Temple of Ice…is right behind here!”

"Wait!" The burly Scandinavian man grabbed Lin Yu's arm. "Are you sure? There's a trap behind this wall, isn't there?"

Lin Yu shook off his hand. "Whether it's a trap or not, we'll find out once we go in!" He manipulated the bed, slamming it violently against the ice wall...

With a deafening roar, the ice wall shattered...

The ice wall shattered, and a biting wind mixed with ice shards rushed towards them, causing everyone to quickly cover their faces.

After the wind and snow subsided, the group could see clearly what they were seeing – not the traps or monsters they had expected, but a vast, empty ice chamber.

In the center of the ice chamber, a huge ice-blue crystal floats, emitting a soft light that illuminates the entire space.

"Holy crap, what... what is this thing?" Kong Yang exclaimed, his eyes wide.

A glint flashed in Lin Yu's eyes: "This is what I've been looking for!" He manipulated the bed, slowly moving it towards the ice-blue crystal.

"Wait, Bed Bro, this thing looks really weird, don't go near it rashly!" The burly Scandinavian man grabbed the edge of the bed, his face full of worry.

Lin Yu waved his hand impatiently: "Get out of here. Don't you know what it means to be bold because you're skilled?"

The burly Scandinavian man wanted to say something more, but Kong Yang stopped him: "Forget it, Old Lin knows what he's doing. Let's just watch."

Lin Yu maneuvered the bed to the bottom of the crystal and reached out to touch its surface.

A powerful surge of energy instantly flowed into his body, giving him a jolt, as if he were in a warm hot spring.

A comfortable feeling spread throughout his body, and he felt his strength constantly increasing.

"Holy crap! This feels... amazing!" Lin Yu couldn't help but groan.

The Norse warriors were stunned by what they saw.

They never expected that this seemingly frail young man would be able to absorb such powerful energy.

"This...this kid...he's got some skills..." the burly man muttered to himself, his eyes filled with awe as he looked at Lin Yu.

Kong Yang was filled with excitement; he knew that Lin Yu had become stronger again!

He ran to Lin Yu's side and excitedly grabbed his hand: "Old Lin, are you alright? How are you feeling?"

Lin Yu opened his eyes, his gaze gleaming: "I feel... amazing! My strength... has increased a lot!" He clenched his fist, feeling the surging power within him, his heart filled with confidence.

"I knew it! You could do it!" Kong Yang held Lin Yu's hand tightly, his face beaming with joy.

Lin Yu patted Kong Yang on the shoulder, and the two brothers smiled at each other, everything understood without words.

Just then, a faint rustling sound suddenly came from a corner of the ice room...

"Swish...swish..."

"Shh shh..." The sound grew closer, as if something was crawling on the ice.

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a small, semi-transparent figure dart out from the corner.

"Holy crap, what is that?" Kong Yang was startled and almost jumped off the bed.

The small figure gradually became clearer, and it turned out to be an ice sprite the size of a palm!

It has crystal-clear wings and big, watery eyes. It looks harmless, but it also has a hint of cunning.

"Hehehe..." The ice sprite let out a silvery laugh, then suddenly opened its small mouth and spat out an ice arrow that shot towards Lin Yu.

"Holy crap, are they serious?" Lin Yu reacted quickly, maneuvering the bed slightly to the side to dodge the ice arrow.

Seeing that its attack had missed, the ice sprite became even more excited. It circled and flew in the air, constantly shooting ice arrows at an astonishing speed.

The Norse warriors were dumbfounded; this little guy looked unremarkable, yet his attack power was so formidable.

"Brother Bed, be careful!" Kong Yang shouted nervously.

Lin Yu's lips curled up slightly, revealing a confident smile. "Little guy, I'll play with you for a bit."

He stretched out his hand, and a pale blue energy surged from his palm, forming a barrier that blocked all the ice arrows.

"Huh?" The ice sprite seemed a little surprised. It stopped attacking and looked at Lin Yu curiously.

The burly Scandinavian man stared in disbelief. "This...this kid...he blocked it so easily?"

Just then, a deep voice rang out in the ice room: "Young man, you are quite good."

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw an old man dressed in a white robe and holding an ice staff appear at the other end of the ice chamber.

"Are you... the Ice Priest?" Lin Yu asked.

The old man nodded: "Young man, you have passed my first test. Now, I will give you a new task."

"What mission?" Lin Yu asked.

“Deep within this ice cave lies a hidden ice crystal. You must find it alone and bring it back to me,” the Ice Priest said.

"No problem." Lin Yu agreed without hesitation.

He maneuvered the bed, heading deeper into the ice cave.

After searching, Lin Yu found the ice crystal in a hidden corner.

He brought the ice crystal back to the Ice Priest.

"You have not disappointed me." The Ice Priest took the ice crystal, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes. "You have passed my test. Now, I can open a passage to the depths of the Ice Temple for you."

The Ice Priest waved his ice staff, and the walls of the ice chamber slowly opened, revealing a passage that shimmered with a mysterious light.

"An even greater challenge awaits us." Lin Yu looked into the depths of the passage, his eyes filled with anticipation. "Let's go!"

Lin Yu maneuvered the bed, leading it into the passageway first...
