A bed that traverses countless worlds

Chapter 17 Exploring the Subterranean Mysteries, a Perilous Journey Accompanied by Friends

The magical bed slowly descended, like an elevator, carrying Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang into the underground passage.

A musty smell mixed with an unknown stench hit Kong Yang, almost making him vomit up his dinner from the night before.

"Brother Hao, this flavor is amazing!" he complained, pinching his nose.

The passageway was narrower than I had imagined, barely wide enough for a bed to pass through.

The walls were damp and pitted, with sharp stone spikes sticking out from time to time, resembling the fangs of some kind of monster.

Lin Yuhao maneuvered the bed, carefully avoiding these "fangs," but even so, he almost scraped the edge of the bed several times.

His disability prevented him from adjusting his posture flexibly, and every time he dodged, sweat beaded on his forehead.

"Hiss..." A chilling sound came from deep within the passage, accompanied by a slight tremor.

Kong Yang's expression changed. "Brother Hao, what was that sound?"

As soon as he finished speaking, several enormous spiders dangled from the top of the passage. Each one was the size of a washbasin, and its eight scarlet eyes gleamed with a greedy light, sending chills down one's spine.

Their mouthparts opened and closed, spitting out sticky spider silk in an attempt to entangle Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang.

"Holy crap! Giant spider! Brother Hao, get out of the way!" Kong Yang shouted, drawing his weapon and slashing at the approaching spider silk.

Lin Yuhao reacted quickly, maneuvering the bed to nimbly dodge the spider silk attacks.

The magical bed darted through the narrow passage like a fish, narrowly avoiding attack after attack.

However, as the number of spiders increased and their silk became denser, they were gradually forced into a corner.

"Brother Hao, this won't do! There's too much spider silk!" Kong Yang shouted anxiously as he swung his sword.

The spider silk was extremely sticky, and his movements became increasingly sluggish.

Lin Yuhao frowned, his mind racing as he searched for a way to break the deadlock.

Suddenly, he noticed a detail...

The spider seemed to deliberately avoid the small lamp by the bedside.

“Old Kong, look…” He pointed to the small lamp, his tone tinged with uncertainty.

Kong Yang looked in the direction Lin Yuhao pointed out, and his eyes lit up. "That's right! These spiders are afraid of light!" he exclaimed, as if he had found a glimmer of hope.

Lin Yuhao quickly activated the system of the Magical Bed and brought up a special lighting effect mode.

Instantly, the entire passageway was illuminated by a bright light, so intense it was almost blinding.

The spiders were startled and retreated in panic.

"Now!" Lin Yuhao shouted, maneuvering the bed forward.

Kong Yang seized the opportunity, brandishing his weapon and killing the approaching spiders one by one.

Under the intimidation of the light, the spiders' attacks weakened significantly. Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang took the opportunity to eliminate many spiders and obtained some special materials from them. These materials looked extremely valuable and could be used to make powerful weapons.

"This stuff might be able to be exchanged for some good equipment!" Kong Yang said excitedly, carefully putting away the materials.

Continuing deeper into the passage, they discovered a fork in the road ahead.

One road seemed to gleam with the light of treasure, while the other was permeated with an aura of evil.

Kong Yang's eyes lit up as he looked at the glittering road: "Brother Hao, let's take this road, maybe there's something good there!"

Lin Yuhao frowned, his gaze fixed firmly on the road that was filled with an evil aura. "Old Kong, I think that road might hold a crucial clue."

Kong Yang was stunned for a moment, and when he saw Lin Yuhao's determined eyes, his brows furrowed.

Their eyes met in mid-air, and an invisible tension spread between them.

Finally, Kong Yang sighed and nodded, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Lin Yuhao smiled slightly, maneuvering the magical bed, and slowly drove towards the road filled with an evil aura.

Just as they were about to step onto that road, Kong Yang suddenly felt a strange chill rise from the bottom of his heart.

He gripped his weapon tightly, silently praying, "I hope we've chosen the right path..."

As the magical bed slowly moved forward, faint whispers came from the darkness at the end of the passage, as if something was waiting for their arrival.

Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with determination and resolve.

"Brother Hao, are we really going to take this route? Isn't that dazzling treasure road better?" Kong Yang swallowed hard, pointed to another passage, and looked pained, as if he had missed out on millions.

"Look at that glittering gold! Maybe it hides a Dragon-Slaying Saber—you can get it with a click!"

Lin Yuhao calmly maneuvered the bed, his eyes resolute: "Trust me, my intuition tells me that this dark road is the key." He paused, then added, "Besides, as the saying goes, the greater the danger, the greater the opportunity! Think about it, isn't that how it's always written in novels?"

Kong Yang curled his lip, "Novels are all lies! Besides, what if we don't encounter the right opportunity, but instead run into some ancient behemoth? Wouldn't we be doomed?"

"What's there to be afraid of? We have a bed! This is a pass to all the worlds. If we can't beat them, we can always run away!" Lin Yuhao patted the magical bed board, full of confidence.

Seeing Lin Yuhao's determined look, Kong Yang finally gave in.

"Alright, alright, what can we do? We've been through thick and thin together! Let's risk our lives for each other and get to it!"

The two slowly advanced along the passage that was filled with an evil aura.

The passageway was eerily silent, save for the sound of the bedrollers crushing gravel and the two people's slightly hurried breathing.

Suddenly, a deep roar came from the depths of the passage, causing the walls on both sides of the passage to tremble slightly.

"Holy crap! Brother Hao, that voice, could it be a dragon?" Kong Yang was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he gripped the edge of the bed tightly.

Lin Yuhao frowned, feeling uneasy about the oppressive force contained in the roar.

But he didn't show it. Instead, he comforted Kong Yang, saying, "Don't panic, Lao Kong. It's just a big lizard at most. If we brothers join forces, what are we afraid of!"

As soon as the words were spoken, a pair of scarlet eyes appeared at the end of the passage, gleaming with a chilling light in the darkness.

“Brother Hao…that doesn’t look like a lizard…” Kong Yang’s voice trembled as he pointed to the eyes.

Lin Yuhao also saw those eyes, and his heart sank.

The size of its eyes was far beyond that of a lizard.

He took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "Old Kong, prepare for battle!"

He manipulated the magical bed, slowly approaching those scarlet eyes, and tightened his grip on...

Remote control.

"Wait, Brother Hao," Kong Yang suddenly spoke up, "look at what's that next to it..."
