A bed that traverses countless worlds

Chapter 14: Exploring the Ancient Castle Again, Feelings Surge Subtly

The castle gates creaked open with a jarring scraping sound, and an even more intense and sinister aura rushed out, as if an invisible giant hand had gripped their throats.

"Good heavens, this tastes like rotten eggs pickled in aged vinegar for hundreds of years!" Lin Yuhao complained, but couldn't hide the tension in his voice.

The interior of the castle was even darker and damper, with a nauseating stench permeating the air.

Unidentified vines climbed all over the walls, casting distorted shadows in the dim light, like menacing monsters.

"Yangzi, stay close to me, this place is very eerie." Lin Yuhao manipulated the bed, moving it forward carefully. The bed board made a slight "creaking" sound as it rubbed against the ground, which sounded particularly jarring in the silent castle.

They had barely ventured deep into the castle when they heard a rustling sound coming from ahead.

"They're here!" Lin Yuhao whispered a warning, while simultaneously maneuvering the bed to hide behind a massive stone pillar.

A group of spider-like monsters, but dozens of times larger than ordinary spiders, crawled out of the darkness.

These monsters were entirely black, with sharp claws, and their mouths constantly dripped a foul-smelling green liquid.

"Holy crap, it's an enhanced version of the Spider Demon!" Lin Yuhao couldn't help but exclaim.

These "spider demons" seemed to have sensed the presence of the intruders, and they all let out sharp screechs as they pounced toward Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang.

"Yangzi, cover me!" Lin Yuhao shouted, maneuvering the bed to quickly weave through the monsters, looking for an opportunity to attack.

Kong Yang held a longsword forged from the blacksmith's shop in the beginner village, desperately resisting the monster's attacks. Each swing of the sword brought a gust of wind, forcing the approaching monsters back.

Green liquid continuously spurted from the monster's mouth, making a "sizzling" corrosive sound as it hit the ground, instantly creating pits in the ground.

"This stuff is definitely sulfuric acid!" Lin Yuhao exclaimed, skillfully maneuvering the bed to dodge the liquid attack.

"Yu Hao, watch out!" Kong Yang suddenly shouted. A giant "spider demon" circled behind Lin Yu Hao, raised its sharp claws, and slashed down fiercely at him...

Lin Yuhao's eyes sharpened, and he abruptly maneuvered the bed to the side...

“Wait a minute,” Lin Yuhao suddenly said, “they seem to be…”

"Wait a minute," Lin Yuhao suddenly said, "they seem to... be afraid of light!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Yuhao quickly took out a crystal ball that was shining with a faint light from the storage compartment beside the bed. It was one of the rewards he received when he accepted a quest in the beginner village.

He carefully held the crystal ball above his head, and its light instantly illuminated the surroundings.

The "spider demons" were clearly very sensitive to the sudden light, and they all retreated, letting out shrill screams.

Lin Yuhao seized the opportunity, maneuvering the bed forward, holding a short sword extending from the headboard, and precisely stabbed it into the eye of the nearest "spider demon".

The short sword pierced through the hard outer shell, blood spurted out, the monster let out a scream, fell to the ground and convulsed a few times, and finally lay still.

"Yangzi, hurry, follow up!" Lin Yuhao shouted. Kong Yang quickly recovered from his shock and swung his long sword even more fiercely, joining Lin Yuhao in attacking the other "spider demon".

The two worked together more and more seamlessly, one distracting the monsters while the other seized the opportunity to stab them in the eyes.

In the tense and fierce battle, one "spider demon" after another fell and was eventually completely wiped out.

After the battle, Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang were both panting heavily and leaned against a stone pillar to rest for a while.

Kong Yang suddenly felt a sharp pain in his arm. Looking down, he discovered that he had been cut in the arm and blood was flowing out.

"Yangzi, how did you get hurt?" Lin Yuhao asked anxiously as he quickly took out the first-aid kit from the bedside and carefully bandaged Kong Yang's wound.

The two stood very close, and Lin Yuhao's focused gaze made Kong Yang somewhat uneasy.

He smelled the faint scent of disinfectant on Lin Yuhao and felt the gentleness and firmness in his hands, and his face unconsciously turned red.

After treating his wounds, Lin Yuhao looked up and his eyes met Kong Yang's.

Kong Yang's heart raced, and the sound of their breathing was exceptionally clear in the silent castle.

Lin Yuhao also noticed Kong Yang's change. A complex light flashed in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

"Yangzi, are you alright?" Lin Yuhao's voice carried a hint of concern, as if he were comforting a wounded little bird.

Kong Yang felt a slight warmth in his chest, but quickly regained his composure and gently shook his head: "It's nothing, just a superficial injury."

The two moved closer together, and Lin Yuhao smelled a faint scent of sweat and forest on Kong Yang, which stirred a strange feeling in his heart.

However, at this moment, a faint light came from not far away, interrupting the delicate atmosphere.

"There's light over there!" Lin Yuhao said in a low voice, quickly taking a crystal ball that was emitting a faint light from the bedside and cautiously reaching forward.

Kong Yang immediately followed, and the two of them cautiously approached the source of the light, one in front of the other.

They walked through a narrow corridor and came to a hidden room.

In the center of the room stood an ancient wooden table, on which were scattered some yellowed parchment and strange runes.

Lin Yuhao leaned closer to examine them closely and discovered that the writing on these parchments seemed to record an ancient conspiracy.

"Holy crap, what's this?" Lin Yuhao exclaimed, picking up a piece of parchment.

Although the writing on it is blurry, some key information can still be vaguely discerned.

“Chen the Witch… Dark Magic… The Legacy of the Gods…” These words made Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang’s expressions turn serious.

"This conspiracy is more complicated than we imagined," Lin Yuhao said in a deep voice, turning over the parchment one by one, trying to find more clues.

Kong Yang quietly examined the other items, hoping to find more evidence.

Just as they were nervously flipping through the documents, they suddenly heard hurried footsteps outside the door.

The two exchanged a glance, both understanding that this uninvited guest was definitely up to no good.

"Quick, hide!" Lin Yuhao whispered, quickly hiding the bed in a corner of the room, and Kong Yang also quickly hid in the shadows.

They held their breath, awaiting the unknown danger.

The footsteps grew closer and closer, finally stopping outside the door.

The door creaked open, and a dark figure slowly walked into the room.

Lin Yuhao and Kong Yang's hearts were pounding in their chests, but they remained calm and waited quietly for their chance.

"Chen the witch, you've finally shown up." Lin Yuhao's voice became firm and deep in the darkness, like a thunderbolt splitting the night sky.
