Dragon Clan: I'm too lazy to talk to you, you're not worthy to listen!
Chapter 248 Return to the Dragon Kingdom 2.0
“Boss, I don’t think we need to rush. Leviathan once said that he would never come to land.”
Jormungandr's eyes darted around as she spoke, and she seemed very reluctant to go into business.
“Okay,” Ye Jingchen said.
"Huh? Boss, what did you just say? Say it again?" Jormungandr thought he had misheard and asked Ye Jingchen tentatively.
"I said we don't need to rush to search for Leviathan in the ocean. I'm going back to Dragon Kingdom now," Ye Jingchen said, silently retracting the nameless object.
With that, Ye Jingchen turned and walked back towards the hotel.
Fenrir slowly approached Jormungandr. "Sister, what should we do now? Go get some food?"
The granite bone armor on his body slowly receded.
"Let's keep quiet for now and follow the boss to see what's going on," Jormungandr replied, silently following behind Ye Jingchen.
hotel.
Ye Jingchen pushed open the door.
The door that was pushed open was Chen Motong's.
Seeing that Chen Motong was still lying on her side on the bed with her back to the door, Ye Jingchen looked at her and said, "Get dressed, it's time to go back to Dragon Kingdom."
After speaking, Ye Jingchen closed the door without looking back.
Ye Jingchen arrived at Li Wuyue's hotel room and pushed open the door.
Li Wuyue had already changed her clothes and was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at a book whose title she didn't know.
"You like reading?" Ye Jingchen asked, looking at the book in Li Wuyue's hand.
Li Wuyue casually closed the book, stood up, and stuffed it into the bookshelf. "I don't really like reading; I just read to kill time when I'm bored."
"Next, these remnants of the Roman army will be left to you and Fenrir to deal with." Ye Jingchen approached Li Wuyue, reached out his hand, and stroked Li Wuyue's right cheek.
Li Wuyue's eyes darted around in their sockets as if she were thinking, then she looked up at the stubble on Ye Jingchen's chin. "Where are you going?"
"I want to go back to the Dragon Kingdom," Ye Jingchen said.
Li Wuyue: "With whom?"
“Jormungandr and Chen Motong,” Ye Jingchen said.
Knowing that she couldn't fight city hall, Li Wuyue nodded. "I will organize the remaining forces as soon as possible. Now that Norns is no longer obstructing us, everything will go much more smoothly."
"No need to rush, just do your best." Ye Jingchen said, pulling his hand back, putting it in his pocket, and turning to walk out the door.
When he opened the door, he saw Jormungandr and Fenrir, the two siblings staring blankly at him from the doorway.
"You overheard everything, didn't you?" Ye Jingchen looked down at Jormungandr and asked.
“Um… Boss, I overheard it by accident,” Jormungandr turned to Fenrir, “right, brother?”
Fenrir blinked and nodded stiffly, "Ah, yes, yes, yes!"
“Eavesdropping usually doesn’t count,” Ye Jingchen said, glancing at Fenrir. “You two siblings together won’t get anything done properly. Fenrir, you stay here and help Li Wuyue finish the rest of the work. I’ll take your sister back to Dragon Kingdom to deal with the matter of the Eight Families of Dragon Kingdom.”
Fenrir didn't rush to reply to Ye Jingchen. Instead, he turned his head, lowered his head, and looked at Jormungandr with a questioning look in his eyes.
Only after seeing Jormungandr nod did Fenrir speak, "Well... alright!"
"Remember to order me breakfast."
Ye Jingchen appeared beside Chen Motong's bed in an instant and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Chen Motong: "It's swollen, and it hurts when I move it."
"It's alright, I'll have Xia Mi carry you on her back," Ye Jingchen said.
"Huh?" Chen Motong's eyes widened immediately, and she asked in confusion, "Are you sure you don't mean to carry me on your back?"
"Do you want me to carry you?" Ye Jingchen leaned forward, getting close to Chen Motong, their noses touching. "Speak."
Feeling Ye Jingchen's breath, Chen Motong hesitated to speak.
Chen Motong's eyelashes trembled in the morning light, and fine beads of sweat appeared on the tip of her nose.
She suddenly reached out and grabbed Ye Jingchen's tie, pulling it down forcefully: "Carry me to the restroom."
Amidst the crisp sound of the tie buckle striking the ceramic tabletop, Ye Jingchen braced himself against the mirror with one hand.
The dripping sound of the faucet not being turned off properly, along with the rustling sound of Chen Motong unbuttoning her pajamas, resonated in the small space. The mirror, covered with steam from last night's hot water, reflected two blurry silhouettes.
"Boss, would you like double cheese on my sandwich?"
The voice of Jormungandr pierced through the door.
Chen Motong's hand trembled as he fastened his belt, and the metal buckle clattered against the tiles with a crisp clanging sound.
Ye Jingchen's shirt collar still bore faint pink marks from her lipstick. The wind he created as he turned around lifted the shower curtain, revealing an unopened box of rose bath salts on the edge of the bathtub.
"What do you intend for me to do after returning to the Dragon Kingdom?" Chen Motong stood barefoot on Ye Jingchen's leather shoes, her skirt tied, and looked up into Ye Jingchen's eyes.
Ye Jingchen keenly sensed the hidden meaning in Chen Motong's words, and his eyes narrowed slightly. "Those fifteen trading ports that originally belonged to you are now entirely under your management."
"Thank you." A barely perceptible glint flashed in Chen Motong's eyes.
She shouldn't have had too many ideas; her initial goal was to prevent those fifteen trading ports from falling into the hands of her family.
However, human desires are always stirring; once you get ten dollars, you're bound to want twenty.
Ye Jingchen reached out and patted Chen Motong's head. "When your abilities reach that level, you will naturally get what you want. Otherwise, if you force it, you will inevitably lose more than you gain."
"Children from elite families like yours should have a certain level of composure. Don't let your emotions and feelings be so clearly written on your face."
After a brief moment of contemplation, Chen Motong nodded. "Yes, I understand."
"I'm going downstairs to have breakfast," Ye Jingchen said, placing Chen Motong on the sink.
Push open the door to Chen Motong's room.
Jormungandr was still holding a plate with sandwiches on it. She looked at Ye Jingchen, tilted her head back and smiled, revealing a small canine tooth.
Jormungandr peered inside. "Isn't Senior Sister Mo Tong coming out?"
She shouldn't be hungry yet. Ye Jingchen picked up a sandwich from the plate, took a bite, and said, "Let's go downstairs and try the Roman milk. Is it sweeter than the milk in China?"
Come to the first floor.
Fenrir was already seated at the table, feasting as if he were a burly man who could never get enough to eat.
Ye Jingchen had just sat down.
Jormungandr took the warm milk out of the microwave. The milk residue on the rim of the cup gleamed like mother-of-pearl in the morning light. "Boss, please!"
She was dressed in Lolita fashion, smiling broadly, which reminded Ye Jingchen of the first few days after he met Xia Mi.
He picked up the milk from the table, took a sip, and said, "It's not that sweet!"
Outside the French windows, Fenrir held a loaf of bread in his hand. He ate it while squatting by the fountain to feed the pigeons. Crumbs of bread, crushed by his granite-like fingers, would occasionally fall into the pool.
On the way to the airport, Jormungandr pressed his face against the car window and breathed on it to draw.
She first drew a snarling shark, then a crooked sunflower, and finally, before the fog dissipated, a simple little figure wearing a top hat with two sharp dragon horns hidden under it.
"Boss, can I apply for a travel allowance?" She suddenly turned around and gripped the back of the chair. "The strawberry jam I bought inside the Milan Cathedral is almost finished."
Ye Jingchen was browsing through encrypted emails when he tossed a black card over without looking up. The card still bore the familiar image of the World Tree, half-withered and half-flourishing.
Perhaps wanting to leave a good impression, Kassel College has not frozen the bank card yet.
The card traced a parabola in the air before being precisely caught by Jormungandr's teeth, instantly causing a thin layer of frost to form on its surface.
Chen Motong pushed his sunglasses down: "You dragons, are you all so...regressed?"
"They're the ones who've reverted to their ancestral ways." Ye Jingchen pointed to the medieval castles flashing past the car window. "Dragons, they just live longer."
In the airport VIP lounge, Jormungandr is struggling with a vending machine.
As she inserted her fifth coin into the slot, the machine suddenly spat out a string of grape-flavored bubble gum.
Chen Motong noticed that tiny ice crystals had formed on the edges of each coin. Looking at Jormungandr's figure and its extremely focused play, she thought to herself, "These dragons are more like humans than humans. I don't understand how humans abolished such beings."
"Why not take a private jet?" Chen Motong asked, looking at the economy class sign on her boarding pass.
Ye Jingchen was using nail clippers to trim the patina on the scabbard of the nameless sword: "The airline meal has shrimp fried rice, it's quite delicious."
Chen Motong rolled her eyes at Ye Jingchen, "Speechless... Don't you understand the importance of saving money when you should and spending it when you should?"
“This is what it means to save where you should and spend where you should!” Ye Jingchen said.
As the Boeing 777 plunged into the stratosphere, Jormungandr pressed his forehead against the porthole.
The sea of clouds reflected strange prisms in her pupils, much like the frozen Arctic Ocean.
As the flight attendant pushed the food cart past, she secretly slipped six packets of peanuts into her trench coat pocket and drifted off to sleep peacefully.
"Would you like a blanket?" Ye Jingchen unbuckled his seatbelt.
Chen Motong patted the cushion into a fluffy shape:
&34; I want your coat. &34;
As the suit jacket, still warm from her body, fell onto her shoulders, she smelled the mingled scent of cedar and gunpowder.
Jormungandr was snoring softly. In her dream, she was in the back row, nudging Fenrir's arm.
&34; Brother, why do you think the boss insisted on coming to Rome in person? Just for that mechanical heart called Norns? &34;
In Fenrir's dream, he was folding swans from napkins:
&34; It might be related to the boss's injury. You remember the wound on the back of his shirt last night…&34;
Ye Jingchen couldn't listen to Jormungandr's ramblings any longer.
He raised his hand and flicked a mint, which landed precisely on Jormungandr's forehead.
"Hiss!" Jormungandr rubbed her head and woke up with a start. She saw Ye Jingchen's profile, which was closed and resting, looking like a sculpture under the reading lamp, with the white royal mark on his Adam's apple glowing faintly.
He silently shut his mouth again...
Twelve hours later, the neon lights of S City International Airport in Longguo pierced the rain curtain.
Chen Motong wrapped herself in Ye Jingchen's coat and got into the Maybach. She had asked her subordinate Chen Xiaoxiao to prepare the car fragrance in advance on her phone; it was a cool, bamboo-scented scent.
Jormungandr, she peered out the car window, watching the windshield wipers, and suddenly pointed to a convenience store on the side of the road and shouted:
"Boss, oden!"
"You little glutton!" Ye Jingchen slapped Jormungandr's bottom.
"Ah~" Jormungandr blushed, covered her skirt, and stuck out her tongue at Ye Jingchen.
Half an hour later, at the villa that Chen Xiaoxiao had prepared for Chen Motong.
The smart lock on the hilltop villa recognized Chen Motong's iris.
The motion-sensor lights in the entryway lit up one after another, illuminating the fluorescent jellyfish swimming in the fish tank.
Jormungandr nestled into a beanbag chair with a bucket of KFC in his arms, and crumbs of potato chips fell into the pages of Chen Motong's hardcover book, "A Study of the Dragon Genealogy".
"Miss, your room is on the second floor." Chen Xiaoxiao carried Chen Motong's suitcase and walked towards the spiral staircase. "A housekeeper comes to change the sheets every Wednesday."
Chen Motong, supporting her aching back, looked around the living room: "Um, Xiaoxiao, have you made arrangements for the two of them yet?"
Xia Mi lives in the basement. Ye Jingchen opened the temperature-controlled liquor cabinet, took out a bottle of vodka, and took a swig. She likes cold environments.
Jormungandr's protest echoed in my ears: "Boss! I don't like living in a basement!"
Late at night, Chen Motong was awakened by noises from the kitchen.
She walked barefoot across the teak floor and saw Ye Jingchen standing in front of the refrigerator drinking soda.
Moonlight streamed in through the French windows, turning the bandages on his back a silvery-blue color, and the penetrating wounds were healing at a visible speed.
"Aren't you asleep yet?" she suddenly asked.
As Ye Jingchen turned around, the air he created lifted the curtains, revealing withered camellias in the courtyard: "I can't sleep a bit; I guess I haven't adjusted to the time difference yet."
Suddenly, a heavy thud was heard from the study on the second floor.
When Ye Jingchen, Chen Xiaoxiao, and Chen Motong rushed in, they saw Jormungandr standing on tiptoe to reach the cookie tin box on the top shelf of the bookcase.
At her feet lay scattered "Introduction to Alchemy" and "A Brief History of Quantum Mechanics".
She was still holding a half-eaten frozen pizza in her arms, with long, yellow cheese strands stretching out.
"I...I was helping the boss organize documents!" Jormungandr hid the metal box behind his back. "I definitely didn't eat anything secretly!"
Ye Jingchen lifted the hood of her sweatshirt, carrying Jormungandr like a kitten, and said, "Go back to your room and sleep. We'll send a souvenir from Rome to Wuyue tomorrow."
"I know..." Jormungandr said, taking advantage of the fact that no one's attention was on him, he quickly grabbed the small metal box and ran back to his bedroom.
He didn't even bother to bring along "Introduction to Alchemy" and "A Brief History of Quantum Mechanics" which were lying on the ground.
Ye Jingchen bent down and picked up the two books, then turned to Chen Xiaoxiao and said, "Xiaoxiao, go to sleep first. Chen Motong and I have some things to discuss."
“Miss…” Chen Xiaoxiao turned to look at Chen Motong and asked for his opinion in a soft voice.
Chen Motong nodded slightly, "Go."
"Yes." Chen Xiaoxiao silently retreated, pausing at the doorway.
Ye Jingchen glanced at the doorway; he naturally knew that Chen Xiaoxiao was hiding behind it.
He approached Chen Motong step by step and reached out to put his arm around her waist.
Chen Motong's breathing quickened, "Hmm~ Why is it suddenly like this..."
Before she could finish speaking, Ye Jingchen pressed his thumb against her lower red lips, "Mo Tong, haven't you adjusted to the time difference either?"
Chen Xiaoxiao, the subordinate hiding behind the door, tensed up upon hearing this conversation, her black-clad legs clenched tightly together, and she raised her hand to cover her mouth...
