When Kong Xiujin got home, her mother asked her why she had come back so soon after leaving.

She lied and said that business at the factory was bad, the seaweed wasn't selling, and they didn't need so many people. They said that if they had to lay off workers, they should lay off the people from other places first. That's how she got selected.
