Back home, without unloading the grass from the car, I quickly went to the kitchen to cook.

The rice porridge had cooled down, but it was still a little warm. In this weather, it's fine to drink it even if it's not hot.

Steamed buns were sizzling on the stove as Kong Xiujuan started cooking. Sun Guoqiang squatted in a corner of the yard, feeding the rabbits some grass.

The rabbit was happily munching on grass in a wicker chicken coop. The coop was spacious, and there was a small, chipped porcelain bowl filled with clean water.

Rabbits will drink when they are thirsty, but they will not drink in front of people; they are very wary.

If it were eating grass, it wouldn't be done behind people's backs. Sun Guoqiang held up a handful of grass to feed the rabbit. The little rabbit's three-lobed mouth moved quickly, and in a short while, it ate half of a long blade of grass.

Sun Guoqiang was happily feeding the rabbits when two people walked in one after the other through the gate. They were Yun Ya and Sun Limei.

Yunya skipped and hopped into the yard and washed her hands first. Sun Limei slowly walked into the house, plopped down on a stool, rested for five minutes, and then washed her hands.

Kong Xiujuan carried the food into the living room, and Yun Ya quickly ran to the kitchen to help get the bowls and chopsticks.

Sun Guoqiang also went to wash his hands; he could already smell the aroma of the food.

After dinner, Sun Guoqiang stared at the dishes on the table and asked his mother.

"Mom, didn't you say we'd have meat for lunch today? Why isn't it here?"

Kong Xiujuan only just remembered that she had promised to buy meat for her son. She gave an awkward smile, "Um...that...I was so busy I forgot. Since we can't have it for lunch, we'll have it this afternoon!"

Sun Guoqiang nodded, "Okay, Mom, just don't forget this afternoon."

The family was having dinner when Sun Zitao returned home. He quickly went to wash his hands, and Kong Xiujuan reheated the dishes she had saved for him and brought them over for them to eat together.

Sun Zitao habitually took out the remaining half bottle of wine, poured a small glass, and began to eat.

The children ate quickly, but Sun Limei was still chewing her food slowly.

Kong Xiujuan was the last to sit down at the table, and she's finished eating now. Sun Limei is such a dawdler; she's always the last to finish anything, including eating.

Yunya, not wanting to sleep after her meal, went to watch TV. Sun Guoqiang, however, was extremely sleepy and climbed into bed to go to sleep.

Soon it was time for afternoon school, and Yunya felt there wasn't enough time; the TV series she was watching wasn't over yet. But it was time to leave, so she quickly went across the street to call Sun Fei to go to school together.

Yunya and Sun Fei chatted and laughed as they walked towards school. Upon arriving at school and entering the classroom, they saw several classmates gathered together, seemingly discussing something.

Yunya curiously leaned over to listen and learned that the school's new teaching building had been completed, and they would be moving to a new school in a few days. They would be going to study in the new classrooms.

In the afternoons, every main subject is music, art, or physical education, which are all minor subjects that Yunya enjoys.

Because I enjoy these classes, time seems to fly by. Before I knew it, it was time to go home again.

After school, Gu Yu invited Yun Ya and Sun Fei to her house to do their homework. Yun Ya and Sun Fei both agreed.

Because among the three of them, only Gu Yu is good at studying, and you can ask Gu Yu questions if you don't understand something.

If they really couldn't understand the questions, they could at least copy her homework! With that thought in mind, the two happily went to Gu Yu's house.

Gu Yu wasn't in the same class as them, and their homework was different. However, the homework Yun Ya and the others were doing today was the same problem Gu Yu had finished yesterday.

To save trouble, Yun Ya and Sun Fei simply asked Gu Yu for her homework book so they could copy the answers directly.

Gu Yu was speechless. She wanted to do homework and play with them, and didn't want them to develop the bad habit of not using their brains.

Humans are inherently lazy. In contemporary society, the alarm clock of procrastination, the unfinished to-do list, and the ever-changing pace of life that plans can never keep up with are the most realistic picture of modern life.

This pervasive "inertia" is not simply a moral flaw, but a survival strategy etched deep into the human gene pool.

Gu Yu didn't understand any grand principles; she only knew that if she didn't let them copy her homework, they would definitely break off their relationship with her.

She now deeply regrets letting them come and do their homework with her.

Can't I just finish my homework by myself first and then go play with them?

There's no other way but to compromise now. As long as they don't blame me, I won't lose anything.

Gu Yu only wanted to maintain her friendship with her friends; she didn't want to worry about anything else.

The three of them chatted and finished their homework in 40 minutes.

After finishing their homework, Sun Fei and Yun Ya stayed at Gu Yu's house to admire the fountain.

Gu Yu ran to the main room and turned on the fountain in the pool. Colorful goldfish swam around inside.

Yunya excitedly pointed to the goldfish that was all golden and said, "Wow, look, it's a golden fish, so beautiful."

Sun Fei preferred the bright red goldfish, and she pointed to her favorite goldfish and showed it to Yun Ya.

Gu Yu introduced with a touch of pride, "These new goldfish were just bought by my dad a few days ago. Aren't they beautiful!"

Sun Feiyun nodded in unison and said, "Beautiful, beautiful."

Three little girls gathered around the pond, chattering excitedly as they watched the goldfish. The fountain swirled and sprayed water up and down, left and right, wetting Yunya's trouser legs.

Yunya bent down and wrung out the water from her trouser legs. The wet trouser legs clung to her skin, damp and uncomfortable.

She simply rolled up both pant legs, looking as carefree as a mischievous boy catching fish in the river.

Sun Fei and Gu Yu saw the rotating fountain coming towards them and quickly dodged it. When they looked up again, they saw Yun Ya with her pants rolled up, which amused them both.

Sun Fei pointed at Yun Ya and laughed loudly, while Gu Yu also looked at Yun Ya with a gentle smile.

The commotion attracted Gu Yu's mother and brother.

Her brother had just entered the gate when he heard two loud laughs and walked over curiously. Seeing Yun Ya's comical appearance, he wasn't surprised why they had laughed so loudly.

Gu Yu's mother, Xiao Meiting, came out of the kitchen and greeted Yun Ya and Sun Fei with a smile.

Yunya called out sweetly, "Sister-in-law."

Sun Fei also greeted her, "Auntie."

Because Gu Yu's grandmother and Sun Fei's grandmother were sworn sisters, they were of the same generation.

Sun Fei is of a lower generation than Yun Ya, so Gu Yu follows Sun Fei's generational naming convention. Both of their mothers address Kong Xiujuan as "Auntie."

Sun Fei and Gu Yu call Kong Xiujuan "Grandma," and also because Sun Zitao is the eldest child in the family.

Xiao Meiting smiled and replied to each of them, "Oh! Welcome to my home."

Then she asked, "Yunya, your pants are wet, aren't you cold? Why don't you go home and change your pants before you come back to play?"

Yunya waved her hand: "It's okay, sister-in-law, I'm not cold at all."

After saying goodbye, Xiao Meiting went to the kitchen to continue cooking.
