You don't even need to peek out to know that it really is Qin Che who has returned.

"Hmm...?" Qin Che stopped and searched the brightly lit living room for a while, but couldn't find you. He then went upstairs to the bedroom.

As the footsteps drew closer, your heart pounded harder and harder.

You patted your rapidly beating heart and disappeared into the darkness.

You slowed your breathing and silently appeared behind Qin Che after he opened the door to the bedroom.

You stand barefoot on the wool carpet, the wool fibers gently entwining between your toes, making almost no sound.

The man was dressed the same as he had a few days ago, except that his once crisp and tailored suit was now wrinkled and his jacket was soaked. The dark black fabric clung to his shoulders, and water was still dripping from his hair, rolling down his sharply defined jawline and into his shirt collar.

The room was so quiet that only the crackling of the wood burning in the fireplace and the barely perceptible breathing of the two people could be heard.

Qin Che stopped in his tracks at this moment.

Just as he was about to turn around, you nimbly jumped and swiftly grabbed Qin Che's back.

Suddenly, he was embraced by a familiar body, yet everything seemed to be exactly as Qin Che had expected.

His large, warm hand touched your arms that were wrapped around his neck, his voice carrying a relaxation he hadn't felt in days.

"I thought it was some nocturnal wild animal, lurking in the shadows, waiting to ambush you..." He gently nuzzled your exposed, fair arm with his chin. "Your eye for hiding places is getting better and better..."

You moved your arm around his neck, and in a few quick movements, you were hanging from his back to his front. "Oh? You didn't notice me when you came in?"

"Hmm..." Qin Che supported your bottom with one hand and wrapped his other arm around your waist to prevent you from falling.

"I just don't believe it..." You straightened your back, leaned close to his face, and sniffed around his cheeks. "Let me see if you've been away from home for so long because you've been bothered by other cats..."

Qin Che looked down at your sullen face, his Adam's apple bobbing.

He curled one corner of his lips and narrowed his eyes slightly, letting you do whatever you wanted with great interest.

A low, husky voice, carrying a dangerous allure: "So? Finished checking the goods? I don't know about the other kittens, but this one at home hasn't been fed in ages, and looks like it can't wait to hunt for itself today..."

The damp fabric of his suit brushed against your bare collarbone. You raised your hand to push his shoulder, but he grabbed your wrist and pressed it against his chest.

They've got me completely under their control!

"Hmph, I've been staking out this prey for a long time. If I catch it today, you won't escape my grasp..." Instead of panicking, you suddenly closed the distance between you and pressed your lips against Qin Che's slightly bobbing Adam's apple. "You've starved me for so many days. Are you ready to be devoured by me now?"

Your warm breath brushed against the skin of his neck, and your soft, delicate lips swept across his Adam's apple, like a snail winding its way upwards, slowly leaving an unmistakable trail of sticky sensation.
