The waiter and the shopkeeper were surprised to see someone else coming. When they saw that it was a strong and muscular man, they immediately became alert.

"who are you?"

The innkeeper wanted to suggest they go together, but when he saw that the ropes binding Du Mingxian had come off, he immediately said, "I just came here to stay, I didn't expect you to be such a shady inn."

The innkeeper and the waiter, with their backs to Du Mingxian and the Emperor, were plotting how to lure the postmaster in and kill him when they felt a chill on their necks and then knew nothing more.

It seemed like something warm was flowing out from their necks.

As Du Mingxian untied her own ropes, she stepped forward and cut the ropes binding the Emperor. Then, with lightning speed, she moved her knife close and severed his major artery.

The movements were clean and efficient.

The shopkeeper and the waiter died just like that. If Du Mingxian hadn't killed them, their deaths would have been even more tragic.

They never knew, even in death, that the last person they bullied was the emperor, who had already been declared dead.

Upon seeing that the two men were dead, the postmaster stepped forward and knelt down to pay his respects.

After killing the men, Du Mingxian turned around and, with a bloodstained knife in hand, quickly untied the Emperor's ropes. This scene was quite bizarre, but the Emperor remained remarkably calm.

Once the ropes binding the emperor were untied, and seeing the postmaster about to bow, the emperor said impatiently, "Alright, we're outside, don't bow so easily."

He swallowed the words of greeting that were on the tip of his tongue, and said only, "Yes."

The Emperor glanced at the two men lying on the ground and said, "To end it all with one stroke like that, it was too quick for them to die."

The light was dim at night, and Du Mingxian didn't notice anything unusual on the Emperor's face at first. It wasn't until she killed the person and was no longer a threat, and then untied the Emperor, that she noticed the suspicious handprint on his face.

I felt a chill run down my spine. These two idiots dared to hit the Emperor.

She accidentally killed someone again, what should we do?

She didn't dare to make a sound. The postmaster was even worse than Du Mingxian, and he knelt on the ground and didn't get up.

The Emperor waved his hand, "Are you the postmaster?"

"Yes."

"We don't need you here. Go back. When Prince Rong contacts you, just tell him my location."

"Yes."

As the postmaster was about to leave, the Emperor called him back, "Wait a moment."

"emperor."

"You need to dispose of these two bodies."

"Yes."

The Emperor extended his hand, and Du Mingxian stared at the outstretched hand, momentarily stunned. But though her brain didn't react in time, her body moved faster, and she had already grabbed the Emperor's arm.

With stiff body, he helped the emperor upstairs.

When they reached the upper floor, the Emperor finally looked at Du Mingxian. Du Mingxian quickly lowered her head. It was not something a commoner like her should know about the Emperor being bullied.

Knowing too much that she shouldn't know will lead to her quick death.

Do you have any medicine?

"what?"

"Those two men attacked me."

Du Mingxian was conflicted and didn't know what to say. The Emperor shouldn't be so good-tempered, she thought. "Yes, yes."

"Let's go, go and apply the medicine for me."

"Yes."

Du Mingxian followed the Emperor into the room in a daze, and then, still feeling dizzy, she finished applying the medicine to the Emperor. Only after leaving the room did she come to her senses.

When did the Emperor become so easy to talk to?

Who is the Emperor? He is the supreme ruler, the one who reigns supreme. Anyone who doesn't witness this scene is doomed.

It's probably because the Emperor still cares about some of her good qualities and won't let her die, but who knows what will happen in the future.

Feeling anxious and upset, she went back to her room and went straight to sleep.

My mind was a mess, but my body was so tired that I just fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already 10 a.m., and she quickly went out.

This inn probably has a bad reputation, so no one has stayed here. Right now, only she and the Emperor are in the entire inn, and the corridors are empty.

She stepped forward and knocked on the Emperor's door. "Master Huang?"

There was no reply, and then the door to the room opened. The emperor's expression was not good, but the medicine from last night was very effective, and the handprint was no longer visible.

"Let's go eat."

The Emperor walked in front, and Du Mingxian walked behind. To avoid trouble, the two of them went out through the back door of the inn.

“Master Huang, how about we disguise ourselves? That way, others won’t recognize us easily, and it will make our movements easier. Yesterday, we went into that inn and found someone dead. Although the body was disposed of, there’s no guarantee their family won’t come knocking. We can’t stay there anymore.”

The Emperor waved his hand, "You can arrange these things as you see fit."

"Yes."

The two went to a restaurant for a meal. After the meal, Du Mingxian simply took the Emperor to a secluded place and began to change their appearances.

When the emperor became a father, Du Mingxian made herself look older, thus becoming a daughter.

Now they truly are father and daughter.

Not knowing how much longer she would have to stay, Du Mingxian didn't go back to the inn. Instead, she went through a brokerage firm and found a dilapidated courtyard.

"Please have some tea here while I tidy up the courtyard," Du Mingxian said in the teahouse.

The Emperor looked up at her and said, "You were worried about me before you left last night, but now you can relax?"

“In broad daylight, in a teahouse, with other people around, and you can listen to storytelling here. You’re just an ordinary old man, a poor wretch. Who would want to lay a hand on you?”

"I'll be right back."

To tidy up the courtyard, we need to take things out of the space. The outside is dilapidated, so what's the point of closing the inside? We need to make sure the emperor is comfortable and forgets about yesterday's events.

Otherwise, her life would have been in danger.

Du Mingxian left, and the Emperor had a rare moment of leisure. He drank cheap tea, had melon seeds on the table, and listened to a storyteller. This kind of life had a unique flavor.

Du Mingxian spent an hour tidying up the courtyard, partly because she was worried the Emperor would get bored or something might happen to him. Since she had everything in her space, she was able to tidy up very quickly.

After tidying up, she went to the teahouse to find the Emperor.

When the emperor saw her coming, he looked somewhat aggrieved, "I thought you had forgotten about your father."

"How could that be? We were just a little slow in handling things, Dad, let's go."

Du Mingxian helped the Emperor walk outside, and the two of them walked together towards the small courtyard.

The location of this small courtyard is so-so. There are quite a few neighbors around, and it's noisy. Walking into the alley, you can hear children running, jumping, and laughing, as well as children crying, parents scolding, and adults arguing.

Everywhere you look, there's the aroma of everyday life.

The emperor had never experienced such a life before, and found it quite novel.

As the emperor approached the courtyard gate, he stared at the dilapidated structure, as if it would collapse at the slightest pressure.

"This... here?" The Emperor's voice was filled with disbelief.

Du Mingxian smiled and said, "It's here."

The emperor was at a loss for words. Only this girl dared to find him such a place to stay, and since she had already done so, he wouldn't say anything more.

Upon entering the courtyard, the Emperor saw that it was fairly clean, and his mood improved somewhat.

"Dad, I've already tidied up this room for you. What would you like to eat? I'll cook today."

"Do whatever you think is best."

"it is good."

Du Mingxian went into the kitchen to cook, while the Emperor went into the room he hadn't held out much hope for. But... the room was very well tidied up, and even the walls were covered with paper, making the room very bright.
