Shen Yao used healing spells on Feng Yu again and again, but the effect on the skin and flesh was minimal; it could only control the spread of toxins in his body.

She was so heartbroken that she shed countless tears.

Feng Yu was awakened by the pain.

In his dazed state, he felt as if his internal organs were being gnawed by poisonous insects, and he felt as if his back was cracking from time to time, like charred firewood.

The intense pain was unbearable for him, yet his clear consciousness made him grateful that he was still alive.

“Yanzhou…” Feng Yu opened his eyes slightly and saw the bedding beneath him. He tried to get up, but the tearing sensation in his body made it impossible for him to rise.

"Don't move!" Shen Yao noticed that he was awake, squatted by the bedside, and said anxiously and worriedly, "Your body is burned, don't move, your father is making medicine for you, you'll feel better after you take the medicine."

Burns? Feng Yu released her spiritual sense and saw the charred and ugly appearance of her back, the charred patches on the back of her neck, and a patch on the lower left side of her face.

He tried his best to circulate his wood elemental power to heal his injuries, but after using a healing spell, it had no effect whatsoever.

Even the small burns on his face couldn't be healed.

Feng Yu was desperate, and his face turned even paler. He practiced advanced healing techniques, yet he couldn't heal such burns.

I had heard before that cultivators who were injured in secret realms could not be healed no matter what they did. I suppose I was the same way, suffering from an incurable injury.

He buried his head in the blankets, his fear and pain far outweighing the physical agony.

Seeing that he had buried his head in the blankets, Shen Yao thought he must be in unbearable pain, so she got up to use her healing spell to help him relieve the pain.

"Don't get up!" Feng Yu's brows furrowed in her hands, buried in the blankets. "Yan Zhou, squat down."

Shen Yao knelt down and stroked his head: "What's wrong?"

Feng Yu's tone was pained: "Don't get up, don't look at me, it's ugly."

His Yanzhou liked beautiful things, but now he himself had become like this...

Shen Yao gently comforted her, "It's not ugly. You won't look ugly no matter what you become. Besides, you'll get better soon."

"You're lying to me." Feng Yu felt a piercing pain in his heart; Yan Zhou was deceiving him again.

"I didn't lie to you." Shen Yao gently pulled at his arm, but he wrapped his arm around his head. Even with the slightest force, the excruciating pain in his body became even more unbearable, and he desperately protected his face.

Shen Yao's heart ached, her eyes filled with tears, and she sobbed as she coaxed him, "Husband, I really didn't lie to you. I love you no matter what, and you really will get better..."

The more she coaxed him, the harder Feng Yu tried. He clenched his fists tightly, his whole body tense, and his charred flesh cracked open.

Hu Yawu felt bad seeing this: "Feng Yu, relax, your wound has reopened."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yao realized her wound had reopened! She immediately got up to use a healing spell, but Feng Yu quickly grabbed her arm with his left hand and pulled her down.

He covered his face with his right arm, revealing only his eyes, which pleaded, "Please don't look, please don't look."

Shen Yao squatted down again and looked him in the eye: "I won't look. Then relax a little and don't use any more force."

Feng Yu did not relax in the slightest.

Shen Yao stroked his stray hairs, kissed his forehead a few times, took out a strip of cloth, tied it around his head to cover his eyes: "I'll close my eyes, okay? Relax, I won't look."

Feng Yu finally relaxed and buried her head in the blankets again.

Shen Yao blindfolded him and used a healing spell on him to relieve his pain.

Feeling comforted, Feng Yu buried her head and fell asleep again.

The pills in the Purple Spirit Cloud Furnace had taken initial shape. Huo Die used his divine fire to warm the furnace, infusing the pills with traces of divine power.

When Feng Yu woke up from his deep sleep, he felt an intense itch on his right shoulder, as if something was burrowing into his flesh, all the way down his back.

He figured it was probably because the flesh inside was regrowth, but he didn't think much of it and didn't use his spiritual sense to investigate.

Since it's already like this, what good will it do if some new flesh grows inside?

But his wild goose boat might not be able to wait until it returns to the outer heavens before it abandons him.

If that's the case, he'll cut off the contract seal; he's already rotten to this extent, so what does it matter if he rots a little more?

He kept his head down, motionless and silent, and no one noticed that he had woken up.

Hu Yawu had many years of experience in wilderness survival, and his storage ring was fully equipped. He set up a small table to place the ingredients and cooked porridge in the Fire Spirit Furnace: "Sister Shen Yao, come and eat."

Shen Yao: "You eat, I'm not hungry."

Hu Yawu: "Eat something. You haven't eaten anything since he fainted. It's been so long."

Shen Yao: "I'll eat it after he's better."

Hu Yawu glanced at Huo Die, who was still engrossed in alchemy, and said to Shen Yao, "Your father's pills are still a long way off. Don't wait until Feng Yu is better before you starve to death."

Shen Yao focused on casting healing spells and stopped talking to him.

Hu Yawu sighed helplessly. Feng Yu stopped pretending to be asleep and said, "Yanzhou, I'm hungry."

Shen Yao was still blindfolded. She squatted down and replied softly, "You're awake. Wait for me to feed you."

Hu Yawu brought over a bowl of porridge: "You go and eat, I'll feed him."

Shen Yao took off her blindfold and reached out to take the bowl: "I'll feed you."

Hu Yawu: "You go eat, I'll feed you."

Feng Yu propped herself up with her elbows: "My hand is fine, I can eat by myself."

Shen Yao looked at him, and he immediately turned his face away: "Don't look at me."

In the end, Hu Yawu fed him porridge, and Shen Yao also ate some food. Then, she covered her eyes and continued to cast healing spells.

The Purple Spirit Cloud Furnace hummed and roared, and golden light shone brightly in the passage. A beam of light pierced through the underground palace and shot straight into the sky. The golden light attracted lightning, which exploded in the sky above the Dihe Secret Realm.

"It's done!" Huo Die finished his practice, opened his eyes, and happily opened the alchemy furnace. Inside were three round, golden-patterned pills, their rich aroma filling the entire passage.

Upon smelling the medicinal fragrance, Feng Yu felt the pain in her body lessen considerably, and a glimmer of hope rose in her heart.

Huo Die put the pills into a small bottle: "Daughter, give Yunhe one, and keep the other two safe in case she gets poisoned later."

Shen Yao eagerly accepted it, saying, "Thank you, Father. You've worked so hard."

After thanking him, he felt he hadn't quite gotten it right, so he added, "Father is the best and most amazing person in the world."

"Hahahaha." Huo Die stroked his beard, his face beaming with joy: "Go and feed him."

Shen Yao: "Okay."

She fetched water and took the antidote pills with her. Feng Yu still avoided her gaze, only reaching out to take the pills: "I can do it myself."

Shen Yao closed her eyes: "I won't look. Don't force yourself to swallow. Drink some water."

After Feng Yu took the pill, black threads began to emerge from his body shortly afterward. His spiritual sense could see them clearly, but his body felt nothing.

Huo Die led the black silk aside and purified it by burning it with divine fire.

After the black threads disappeared, Feng Yu cast a cleansing spell on herself, followed by a healing spell. The charred black on her back only lightened slightly, while there was no change on the back of her neck and face.

He tried again, but this time there was no change at all. He was immediately disheartened and buried his head in his arms.

Shen Yao closed her eyes and waited for a while before asking, "Yunhe, how is he?"

Feng Yu's voice was muffled: "Hmm, much better, I'm going to sleep for a while."
