"Is this Langye Prefecture?"

The harbor was brightly lit at dusk, with crowds of people moving from afar to near. The place did not become dim with the approaching night; the setting sun shone on the fur of the patrolling giant wolves, revealing a wild beauty.

Yaohui and the others arrived at the location of Wolf Wild State in the evening. What they saw was a giant wolf wearing armor guarding the area. The wolves ranged in size from two to four meters. What was even more surprising was that the dense crowd around them did not show any fear of the giant wolves.

"Are those the wolf riders the captain was talking about? They look really impressive!"

“No, Mr. Haruki, those giant wolves in uniforms are knight wolves, and wolf knights are humans. Those people in front are them.”

Just as the foreman finished introducing Yaohui, a group of armored personnel came to everyone. Their neat uniforms contrasted sharply with the casual clothes of the ordinary people around them. Every wolf knight had a serious expression, and their training was so disciplined that it was visible to the naked eye.

"Wow, these people look so impressive! But there's one thing I don't understand: why are they wearing wolf ear headdresses?"

Although the wolf riders were very imposing, Haruki's attention was mostly drawn to the fluffy wolf ear headdresses on their heads. These were decorations that would normally only appear in cosplay events on Earth, but now they were being worn on the heads of these law enforcement officers.

"This is worn to enhance the bond between the wolf rider and the wolf rider. Each wolf rider has their own wolf rider partner, and that headdress is actually a kind of scent marker, so that the wolf rider can better identify the location of their partner."

Yao Hui asked in a low voice, and A Jiu answered in a low voice. A Jiu had only heard the explanations for those headdresses from others.

"Thank you for your hard work and support during this special time."

The wolf rider quickly left after handing over his duties to the foreman, and the other crew members began unloading cargo. The foreman and crew's mission was thus completed.

Looking at the crowds of people constantly walking towards the port, and the large number of ships leaving and the small number entering, Yaohui could roughly understand what the Wolf Knight meant by "special period".

The large outflow of people and the large inflow of supplies into reserves all indicate that the situation in Langye Prefecture is not optimistic.

"Special notice: This port will be closed after 1:00 AM, and entry and exit will be prohibited at night. We urge everyone to act as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation."

The special report stirred up most of the people in the port, and more people began to rush towards the entrance of the passenger ship, the rapid clatter of footsteps almost drowning out the volume of the broadcast.

Yao Hui, A Jiu, and Sean walked along the port exit passage. The road was clear and they rarely saw anyone else. There were quite a few people going against the flow, but those going against the flow had already been spotted by the Wolf Knights.

"It seems things are worse than we thought; it's already reached the point of curfew. Just how terrifying is that otherworldly monster?"

Sean turned to look at the rebels behind him who had been captured by the wolf riders. He was trying to persuade them while they were struggling, both sides striving to complete their goal before nightfall.

"Finally, I still want to thank you all, heroes. How about I show you the way? I know exactly how to get to the Mage's Guild." The foreman shook hands with Haruki at the exit, wanting to repay the hero's kindness as much as possible.

"Thank you for your kindness, but we should handle the rest ourselves, otherwise we'll just be causing you trouble."

Haruki refused, and the foreman understood what he meant. The hero and his party were about to deal with that otherworldly monster.

"Hurry up and catch up, Yaohui. We need to get to the guild before dark, or the guild will probably close down."

Ah-Jiu's reminder prompted Yao-Hui to hurry up and catch up. The group boarded a horse-drawn carriage, as they had to race against time to catch the setting sun.

Horses were moving, carriages were speeding, and Haruki sat by the window looking at the surrounding street scene. The houses were neat and tidy, with flowers, trees and plants. Humans and monsters traveled together, and the shops sold goods clearly divided into human and animal products. Unfortunately, what Haruki saw was not their original appearance.

People in houses were collecting laundry, closing windows and doors, and both humans and monsters were hurrying home. Shops were closing up shop and shutting their doors tightly. If it weren't for the special circumstances, Haruki thought the scene on the street would be quite lively.

"Master, how much longer until we arrive? Will we make it before dark?"

"Don't worry, little girl, there won't be any traffic jams along the way, I'll definitely get you there."

The carriage driver's reply to Ah Jiu made Yao Hui and Sean notice that there were indeed no other vehicles on the street, and the journey from the port to now had been completely unobstructed.

"Speaking of which, you guys are really strange. Coming to Langye Prefecture at a time like this, haven't you heard about what's happening here?"

"Is it because of that otherworldly monster? We came here to investigate that matter. Master, do you know anything about it?"

"Sigh, what could a nobody like me know? Those people up there kept saying it was all right and told us to go back to work, but they ran off first, leaving us here to be tortured by monsters. Tch, a bunch of useless people."

The driver's words came out without any pretense; the negative emotions that had been building up inside him were released with just a little guidance. After speaking, the driver composed himself, soothed the horse in front of him with his hand, and then looked at the setting sun on the horizon, his expression becoming tense.

"Has that monster been here? What did it look like?"

Seeing that everyone was being driven crazy by the otherworldly monster, Haruki was also in a bad mood. This was a rare place where humans and monsters could coexist peacefully, but now it was being disturbed by a monster. Haruki could only suppress his anger.

"It has never come before, but everyone is afraid of it. If that monster really comes, no one can stop it, so everyone wants to leave. However, since most passenger ships have restrictions on bringing beasts, in the end only those of us who are reluctant to leave our old friends are left behind."

The driver glanced at the surrounding road conditions and knew they were almost at their destination. After finishing his last fare of the day, he and his old partner had to hurry home, otherwise his old partner would be very scared when it got dark.

"Thank you for talking to us for so long, sir. Keep the change, you should head back now."

Upon arriving at the entrance of the Mage Guild, Ajiu paid the bill and said goodbye to her master. It was already dark, with only the last rays of sunlight hanging in the sky, appearing and disappearing as if they would vanish at any moment.

"Actually, I've been wanting to ask this before: what is our purpose in coming to the guild? Is there anything here that we need to pay special attention to?"

"Actually, no, I just wanted to come here to see someone. She's really amazing. She taught me a lot of my skills."

Sean's question only received this explanation from Ah Jiu, which was not very serious but understandable. After saying goodbye to everyone, the driver drove away, not daring to delay anything as he was speeding up the horse.

The dimly lit street was dimly lit, a result of human intervention and helplessness. A woman in white walked slowly down the street, her clothes bright and her expression calm and lifeless. But the poor woman was now in danger because of her unusual behavior.

The driver, who was only thinking about getting home, had no idea that there were people on the street at this time. The speeding carriage could not stop when the driver saw the woman. No matter how hard the driver tried to pull on the reins, he could not avoid the collision.

The carriage was forcibly swerved and crashed into the wall. The horses panicked and broke free of their worn-out reins, roaring and galloping wildly through the streets, turning all their fear into chaotic action.

Yaohui and the others noticed the anomaly and rushed to help. They saw the panicked horses and the injured driver crawling out of the carriage, while on the other side, the woman in white was rescued by another person.

After confirming that the woman in white was safe, the rescuer reached out and turned the magic circle, chanting a sound wave to calm the panicked horse and persuade it to return.

After rescuing the driver, Yaohui and Sean looked at the rescuer with surprise and great curiosity about her identity.

Ajiu ran over and hugged the woman's arm, their actions as intimate as if they were best friends.

"You're still as amazing as ever, Zhaoyu!"
