Chen Er, who had occupied Xiapi for some time, was admiring his palace with his subordinates Zhang Liao and Zhang He.

Without careful observation, the grandeur of the palace goes unnoticed. What's even more awe-inspiring is the tower in front of it, a truly magnificent structure. A plaque in front of the tower reads "Warrior's Tower," and the tower's doors are truly unique—they're made of bronze.

"Zhang Liao!" he called out softly.

Zhang Liao paused for a moment before turning to look at him. Under the dim blue light, his expression made Chen Er feel uneasy.

"What's wrong? Did you see something?"

Chen Er found it strange. He had also carefully observed the abyss, but could see nothing but darkness. Why did Zhang Liao look as if he had witnessed something terrifying?

Zhang Liao shook his head: "I can't see anything except darkness."

Are they from inside the tower?

"Who are you?" Chen Er asked, patting Zhang Liao on the shoulder, and then drew the dagger from his waist with his other hand.

Zhang Liao drew his longsword from his robes, looking warily behind him. Entering the tower felt like stepping into a completely unfamiliar world. Everything here was different from the outside.

On either side of the passageway, amidst the eerie blue flames, Chen Er and Zhang Liao nervously watched the mysterious figure that suddenly appeared behind them, looking as if it were about to attack at the slightest provocation.

"Shadow" seemed to sense the tension between the two and actually chuckled.

"You two are really interesting! You weren't this timid when you were talking to me before."

It was a woman's voice. Upon hearing it, Chen Er immediately put down the dagger in his hand. Zhang Liao also put down his weapon after the woman took a few steps toward him and her figure was illuminated by the eerie blue firelight.

Under the watchful eyes of the two men, Lü Lingqi, dressed in military uniform, walked up to them.

"What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen me in military uniform before?!"

Lu Lingqi held a leather whip in one hand and put the other hand on her hip, her delicate face full of arrogance.

"How did you end up here?" Chen Er asked coldly.

Last time, he had felt a certain fondness for Lü Lingqi because of what she said at the last moment, but now, that fondness had long been banished by her domineering attitude. At this moment, Lü Lingqi had reverted to being that spoiled brat.
