Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!
Chapter 644 First Encounter with the Castle
Zurich also discovered some problems before the satellite completely lost contact.
Other players are clearing the beams of light from the map.
However, these players are quite far from the Zurich train, so there's no need to worry about them encountering each other and clashing for now.
Su Li glanced at the regional channel when she had a moment, but there was no news on the channel.
"Looks like he's a lone wolf type of player, just like us."
Su Li also didn't want to encounter other players; players were much harder to fight than monsters. Once you reach the Gold rank, everyone has some trump cards up their sleeve.
Time flew by, and the donut-shaped moon in the sky gradually set. By the time dawn broke, all the pillars of light on the ground had disappeared.
After having breakfast and practicing for a while, Su Li and the others arrived at their destination.
At the foot of the mountain, Zurich looked up at the castle on the mountain.
The castle is not very large, with a diameter of about 2 kilometers, and its style is somewhat similar to Mont Michel Castle on Earth.
At the foot of the mountain lies a vast, fluorescent lake, resulting in heavy humidity. Right now, the deep blue mist envelops the entire castle. In the morning sunlight, the greyish-white castle is bathed in a golden glow. The mist clinging to its perimeter makes it appear so sacred, like a city in the clouds—truly breathtaking.
At the top of the castle tower, there was something golden, gleaming brightly. Zuli looked closely and saw that it was a statue, its contents intertwined, resembling DNA.
Su Li looked left and right, "It feels a bit like two districts."
The train stopped.
Su Li and the others got off the bus. In front of them was a colorful candy-themed residential area.
This is normal. Castles were originally military fortresses or residences of lords, providing them with safe havens. They would generally serve as the administrative and economic centers of a region, and would gradually attract merchants, artisans, farmers, and others to settle around the castle, eventually developing into towns.
This castle is a typical example. The entire town has two main roads that connect to the castle's two main gates. The remaining roads radiate outwards from these two main roads.
The closer you get to the castle, the more magnificent the buildings become. On the outermost edge, you'll find handicraft buildings, taverns, inns, and two large farms.
Su Li and the others walked towards the farm.
There were two farms; one was clearly an orchard, and the other was most likely a livestock farm. However, the livestock farm had no animals at all.
The wind blew through the orchard, making a tinkling sound like hard candies colliding. Walking around the perimeter of the orchard, you could smell a pleasant sweet aroma.
At the edge of the orchard, beside the main road, there is a tavern. You can hear the noisy commotion from a distance, and when you get closer, you can smell the aroma of roasted nuts.
From a distance, the person cleaning at the entrance saw Su Li and his group. He immediately dropped his broom and rushed into the tavern.
Soon, everyone in the tavern came out.
Su Li also took a closer look at these people.
These people are also gummy candy figures, except that the filling inside these gummy candy figures is white, not red.
They saw Su Li, and a look of excitement appeared on Gummy's face.
"Outsiders!" A burly man with one eye walked over and shouted at Su Li and his companions, "Where did you come from?"
“We come from Windmill Village,” Su Li said, mentioning the name of the village where the Three Little Pigs had come from.
“Windmill Village, the greatest granary in our territory,” one person said with a hint of pride.
Another person said curiously, "You're not from Windmill Village, are you? I've never seen you before."
"We joined Windmill Village when the villages were merged."
"That's not surprising. When the villages were merged, many people fled to Windmill Village."
The group was still chatting, but Su Li noticed that several of them had conflicted expressions, looking as if they wanted to say something but hesitated.
"Friends from afar, come on over!" the one-eyed strong man greeted him warmly. "It's been a long time since any traveler has come. We must offer you a cup of sweet wine. This is a fine wine we brewed with syrup bestowed by the messenger of the gods. You can't find it anywhere else."
[They have ulterior motives.] Su Li thought to herself, but she didn't refuse. Their skill and daring were one factor, but another was that they were there to gather intelligence.
