Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!

Chapter 64 Arrival at the Police Station

After issuing the transaction order, Su Li continued, "Now that we've finished discussing the transaction, let's move on to the next thing."

“As I mentioned before, the Kosmon Worm is a kind of monster that waits for prey to come to it. But this monster has spread throughout the entire city without anyone noticing. I suspect that the Kosmon Worm has accomplices. They may be doing it voluntarily, or they may be parasitized. And the fog that permeates the entire city cannot be a natural phenomenon.”

"Has it opened the door to another world? Or is it some kind of monster's skill? Either way is possible. We need to prepare for the worst, such as the possibility that there are two other types of monsters coexisting with the Kos Dream Worm."

After Su Li finished speaking, she opened the sewer layout map that Principal Phaidon had given her.

"Nockford has a very well-developed sewer system, and the main sewers are large enough for people to walk through. If you want to secretly plant insect eggs throughout the city, the sewers are a perfect place."

Ivan raised his hand, and Zuli gestured for him to speak.

"Should we explore the sewers?"

“I had that idea, but the risk was too great. The sewers are very narrow. It’s not suitable for us.” Su Li shook her head and rejected the suggestion.

"However, a brief exploration is feasible. At least we need to see what the enemy is."

"If there are no problems, we'll put the supplies on the shelves first."

Su Li and the others put up the shelves with 100 of each of the following: 5 Iron Ingots - 1 Light Bird Crystal Core. They exchanged Green Spotted Mushrooms for meat and Water Drop Grass for iron ingots, and put up all the other miscellaneous meats they had left.

For now, they only eat snake soup as meat. And they'll be eating snake soup for a long time to come.

After hanging up, Su Li and the others rested for a while before continuing their journey.

The three continued their journey towards the police station according to their previous plan.

During this time, they encountered two more groups of fungal people. Su Li and his group did not linger in the fight, but went directly into the surrounding residential buildings and used the complex terrain of the buildings to bypass the fungal people.

Afterwards, Su Li and his group arrived at a small shopping mall. They spent some time browsing the mall but didn't find any supplies they needed. Considering it was quite far from their train and they couldn't carry the supplies over, they didn't collect much.

It only contained a little salt, and all the honey.

After continuing for another 3 kilometers, Zuli and his group finally arrived at the police station.

To Su Li's dismay, he did not find any new treasure chests.

Thinking about it, that makes sense. Random treasure chests are usually located several kilometers apart. In small maps like cities, random treasure chests are actually quite rare.

Zurich divides treasure chests into random treasure chests and event treasure chests.

Random treasure chests are randomly distributed across the map.

Event chests are chests that spawn due to nearby events. Examples include chests inside the Storm Crystal Serpent's lair, chests that spawn at various resource points, and the chest found in the library earlier—that was a survivor event chest.

The city map is rich in resources, so there are fewer random treasure chests and more event treasure chests.

Upon arriving at the police station, Su Li sensed something was wrong from a distance. The gate had been smashed open; clearly, someone had broken in.

"Are we still going?" Sophia asked.

"Go ahead, since we're already here. Check if there are any supplies we forgot."

The three carefully walked through the gate into the police station. As soon as they entered, they saw several drug addicts standing in the corridor as if they were being punished, occasionally twitching – the very image of drug addicts.

Su Li breathed a sigh of relief, which meant that the intruder had probably left.

Su Li immediately drew his greatsword and rushed forward to fight the fungus people.

The three fought and retreated, attracting the fungi in the corridor, and then killed them one by one.

After killing them, Su Li began searching for supplies.

She ruled out the offices; they were just filled with snacks and documents. Nothing useful. Su Li headed straight for the police station's armory.

Upon locating the armory, Su Li was disappointed to find that it had indeed been looted. All the firearms and ammunition inside the gun cabinets had been taken.

Su Li could only continue to rummage through the items, looking for anything that others had missed. After searching for a long time, the only valuable items she found were five walkie-talkies.

"Well, it's better than nothing," Su Li sighed.

Zuli returned to the corridor; they had split up to search, Zuli in one team, and Sofia and Ivan together.

Sophia and Ivan took a while to search, and Zuli waited for quite some time before they finally arrived.

Zuli noticed that Ivan looked pleased, it seemed he had found something good.

Upon seeing Su Li, Ivan waved and shouted, "Brother Su, we found the bulletproof vest."

Su Li was immediately delighted, "This is good stuff!"

Then he asked, somewhat puzzled, "Wasn't this place looted? How come there are still bulletproof vests here?"

Sofia walked over, handed a bulletproof vest to Su Li, and then explained, "It was looted. But the looters didn't know anything about bulletproof vests. They mistook many of the vests without bulletproof plates for tactical vests and didn't take them."

Sofia and her team found five bulletproof vests. Zuli immediately put one on. This thing was much more useful than his wooden armor.

This bulletproof vest is a bit different from the vest-style vest that Su Li saw in the game. When unfolded, it looks like four cloth bags, and you can't tell it's a bulletproof vest at all.

Su Li understood why the looters had overlooked the bulletproof vest. If it were him, he wouldn't have guessed it was a bulletproof vest either.

Sofia seemed to have used something like this before. Su Li watched as she continuously connected the straps and installed the bulletproof plate. With her installation, the bulletproof vest finally became a T-shape. After Su Li put her head through the hole in the middle, she began to tie the waist belt and fasten the straps according to Sofia's instructions.

This bulletproof vest is a bit complicated to assemble, but it's very easy to put on.

After putting on the bulletproof vest, Su Li moved around a bit and tested her flexibility, finding it to be fine.

After all three of them put on bulletproof vests, Ivan took out a car key. "Brother Su, there's another surprise!"

Zuli was overjoyed; he had long wanted a car. The problem was that it was difficult to find a matching car and key. This was essentially Earth in the 90s; cars didn't have those electronic locks that flashed lights when you pressed a button.

Zuli doesn't know how to short-circuit start or unlock the car. If he wants the car, he'll have to go into the residential area to find the keys and then come out and try them one by one. That's too time-consuming.

The police station is very convenient; the keys are kept in the office, and finding a car is easy—it's definitely the keys to the police cars outside.

Once the three of them were outside, they easily identified the vehicle that the key belonged to.

It was a very ordinary four-seater police car.

Next, it's time to drive.

Su Li, at the age of 18, transmigrated to this world and became 15 years old. She grew up to be 18 years old and entered the train game, without any driving experience.

He glanced at Sofia, who shook her head. "I'm only 18, and I don't have a driver's license yet."

Su Li completely ignored Ivan. What could a 12-year-old like Deng know? "Alright, I've actually watched how others drive. I'll give it a try."

Zuli inserted the key and then lit the fire.

The engine started successfully. Su Li glanced at the fuel gauge and saw that there was still more than half a tank of fuel left.

Su Li took a deep breath and stepped on the gas.

Su Li stepped on the pedal a little too hard, and with a loud bang, the engine roared, but nothing happened.

"Brother Su, handbrake! Pull down the handbrake! Give it a little gas!" Ivan shouted from the back seat.

Su Li suddenly remembered this matter, so she calmly pulled the handbrake.

After the handbrake was released, Su Li stepped on the gas again, and the car engine roared loudly once more.

The car moved forward slowly a few steps, and Su Li calmly and deliberately shifted the gear.

With a few sharp, clattering sounds, the car suddenly broke down.

"Step on the clutch, Su-ge!" came Ivan's anxious voice.

Su Li stopped the car, thought for a moment, and tentatively asked, "Ivan, you seem to know a lot about this. Why don't you give it a try?"

“Sure, Brother Su, I’ve driven farm machinery at my grandma’s house!” Ivan stepped forward without hesitation. He understood that Brother Su didn’t know how to drive at all.

Zuli slunk out of the driver's seat and Ivan took over.

Ivan skillfully started the car, pulled the handbrake, accelerated, depressed the clutch, and shifted gears. With the reliable minor in charge, the police car smoothly drove out of the parking lot, carrying the two unreliable adults, towards the nearest bank.
