Chapter 596 Coordinating the Manufacturing of Tools

Numerous runes appeared on the cube; these runes were not perfect, or even complete.

Some runes have lost their luster, and some were only half-written before being cut off, leaving behind an independent rune that is not connected to the others.

But it doesn't matter, the main runes are complete.

Ignoring the scorching heat of the flames, Ivan lifted the cube directly from the anvil. Magical energy surged into it.

"It's done!" Ivan exclaimed with delight.

He pressed the cube to his forehead and connected with it spiritually.

Then a beam of light shot from the cube into the outer shield.

With a loud crash, the collapsed cave was blasted apart by the gale, exposing Ivan and his companions to all the bats.

The sonic attack reached Ivan's light shield almost the instant he was exposed.

The echo bats thought their enemy was finally going to be torn apart by the sound waves, and they screamed excitedly. Soon there would be fresh, nutritious flesh and blood, and they would have many more newborns.

However, when the sound waves touched the light shield, the light shield began to emit layers of fluctuations.

These fluctuations are the exact opposite of sound waves, neutralizing them completely.

It was almost like stumbling upon a bat nest.

"Simulation successful!" Ivan laughed, his eyes red. "Haha, there's still room for improvement!"

What he just did was a simple operation that the magic blacksmith has recently been performing: amplifying the properties of the material itself. This technique is often used to explore unfamiliar materials; by amplifying the material's properties, one can observe it more clearly.

Ivan had done this many times before and was quite skilled, but it used to take him several hours to make successfully. This time, under immense pressure, he succeeded on his first try.

Ivan felt that his understanding of forging had deepened considerably, and that his proficiency had likely increased significantly.

Sun Keke breathed a sigh of relief. The echo bats outside primarily attacked with sound waves; their wind element attacks weren't very strong. With the sound waves dealt with, Ivan could easily defend against the attacks from outside.

The crisis has eased.

"Coco, work with me to dig up some more of these stones."

Sun Keke understood and gave Ivan a look. Ivan immediately opened a gap behind him, and then the Hand of Shadows threw in a large piece of Echo Bat Stone.

"Let me handle this first!"

"Okay, let me tell you about the properties of the material."

Sun Keke first picked up a stone, and with Ivan's explanation, began to understand the extraordinary properties of the stone.

After understanding, Sun Keke took out her carving knife.

Sun Keke has been studying to become a skilled craftswoman in the jewelry industry.

With her eyes closed, Sun Keke mentally constructed a model of the stone and quickly planned the angle and force of the knife based on her knowledge.

Opening her eyes, Sun Keke held the carving knife and made the first cut without hesitation.

This first cut split the material in half.

Then came the second cut, the third cut, and the fourth cut.

Sun Keke cut away all the redundant structures, allowing the extraordinary power within the magical energy guide material to condense, leaving behind the best part where the bat saliva formed adhesive paper and soil fused together.

When Sun Keke stopped carving, the material was only one-fifth of its original size. This remaining one-fifth had a warm, jade-like luster.

Seeing that the materials were ready, Ivan was overjoyed, "Now help me start a fire!"

Flames rose, and Ivan began forging once more.

This time, he readjusted the material ratios to make the materials more consistent with the wind and dark elements inherent in the materials themselves.

The shape was redesigned, adopting a hollowed-out sphere. The hollows in the sphere would not affect the transmission of sound waves. This was technology from the previous entertainment world; their phonographs all used this design, and Ivan simply modified it slightly.

Then there are the functional devices, which I'm also very familiar with.

Finally, runes are engraved. This primarily improves stability and protects the internal materials.

As the last rune was inscribed, the entire device emitted a silvery glow.

【Active Noise Cancellation Beads】

Silver Level

【tool】

[Once activated, it actively emits sound waves to neutralize simple sonic attacks within a certain range.]

"It's done!"

Ivan placed the device in place, put the magic crystal into the power supply device below, and then started it.

A noise arose, followed by bursts of sound waves that neutralized the surrounding sonic attacks.

"What about the consumption?" Sun Keke asked quickly.

"One magic crystal every 9 minutes and 53 seconds," Ivan announced. "The energy consumption is a bit high, but there's no way to improve it for now."

"It's alright, we have plenty of magic crystals."

With the World Flower of the Small World, they no longer lacked this crystal containing a large amount of magical energy. They always carried quite a few with them for experimentation, saving them the trouble of going to the warehouse to get them.

They have enough stock to last for several days.

The troublesome sound waves were thus resolved through the combined efforts of the couple.

Sun Keke took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from her husband's head and neck. "So reliable, truly my prince!"

"Hmm!" Ivan wasn't good at sweet talk, so he could only pat Coco's head, while feeling somewhat relieved, "Luckily, the methods of using these monsters are rather crude. Otherwise, it would have been really troublesome."

Sun Keke smiled slightly, "The magic of monsters is generally very crude. Only when they reach the Gold level do they make progress. Monsters that know how to study magical energy and summarize techniques have evolved civilization and wisdom, becoming intelligent races."

Enjoying his wife's care, Ivan began to focus his energy on the shield.

After resting for a while, they would need to find a way to escape the bat cave. Based on the knowledge imparted by their brother-in-law, such a large group would inevitably produce gold-level monsters, given the right conditions.

They needed to leave this place quickly before the gold-level monsters made their move.

The sound wave problem has been solved; the remaining issues are wind and physical attacks.

Ivan began adjusting the shield, transforming the light shield into one that specialized against wind and physical attributes.

Furthermore, it was crafted into a double-layered shield, with a vacuum layer in the middle, to defend against attacks from gold-level monsters and to break through the protection of the noise-reducing orb.

High-level sonic attacks have shifted their transmission method from physical media like air to the ubiquitous medium of magical energy, but some of their properties remain. Creating a vacuum barrier can reduce some of the damage.

After drinking the magic potion and restoring some of his magic power, Ivan, holding Sun Coco, sat back down on the magic carpet once everything was ready.

Sun Keke began to perform a divination, then pointed in a direction, "Go that way!"

"take off!"
