Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!
Chapter 516 The Finally Arrived Attack
The group returned to the train and rested for the night. The next morning, Jiao visited Zuli and the others early in the morning.
But the reef brought bad news.
"I'm sorry, the priest said we can't." Jiao looked apologetic. "The priest said that the evil god is lurking there, and now is the critical moment to summon the god. No one can provoke the evil god and cause trouble for the overall situation."
"And..." Jiao looked at Su Li with some difficulty.
Su Li's gaze passed over the reef and landed on the person standing behind it.
These people all retained their third eye intact, and their eyes were filled with contempt for Su Li and his group.
Su Li knew that this was all due to the fake scars on their foreheads.
"Moreover, the priest said that Holy City does not welcome you." Jiao was somewhat at a loss. "I tried to talk to the priest, but the priest's attitude was very firm. He wanted to drive Brother Su Li and you out of here."
Su Li could tell that Jiao had developed a sense of belonging to Holy City. And rightly so; here in Holy City, he was a privileged person, with no worries about food or drink. He could eat fruit every day, something others might only see once a year. Such good treatment inevitably led to a sense of belonging.
On one side is his homeland, and on the other is the person who saved him when he was a child. He is stuck in the middle and is very conflicted.
"It's okay, we'll go now." Su Li patted Jiao on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it, we're leaving now. See you again sometime."
Jiao stepped forward, hugged Su Li, and then the two parted ways. Jiao left without looking back.
Su Li watched the reef leave, a hint of melancholy in her eyes. Sun Lili patted Su Li on the back, and the two returned to the train under the watchful eyes of many guards.
The train engine started, it sounded its whistle once, and after saying goodbye to its friends, the train headed into the distance.
Back on the train, in the command center, Sofia was holding a round piece of metal that emitted a blue glow, projecting a hand-drawn map onto the wall. Sofia herself was comparing the map to the image.
When Sophia saw Zuli return, she said, "This was sent by Reef; it has a map of the Old World on it."
"This kid... is pretty good." Su Li sighed.
The piece of paper in Sofia's hand was the metal plate that Jiao had slipped into the gap in Suli's armor when they hugged her earlier; it was one of their information recording devices. Sun Lili patted Suli's back to transmit this information into the train.
“Jiao said inside that he couldn’t find the original map. After talking to the priest yesterday, the priest destroyed the map. However, he had seen the map before and drew these based on his memory.”
Sofia compared the maps for a while and then said, "We can roughly confirm the direction, but this is a map of the old world. Now the whole world is submerged, so we need to confirm it again."
“It is difficult to completely replicate a hand-drawn map, so the reef uses a landmark marking method. A series of landmarks are marked on the map. As long as we find the corresponding landmarks, we can reach the deepest trench in the world.”
"Take your time, no rush. If we can't get there in 7 days, we'll go for 30 days. If 30 days isn't enough, we'll explore again on the next trip."
Unexpectedly, Jiao secretly gave these things to Su Li. "Saving him back then wasn't in vain."
Ivan nodded in agreement, saying, "It would be great if Reef were a real person."
"What are you thinking? Reef is just an illusion created by the system. Don't project too much emotion onto it." Sun Keke tapped her husband's breastplate. "The real Reef might be some big-name player now."
"Then I wish the reef good luck, and may it have lots of treasure chests in the Eternal Game."
The train stopped temporarily on the sea, and the group began searching for landmarks provided by the reef.
The first landmark is a vast rift valley stretching for thousands of kilometers, located north of the sacred statue, where there is also a statue kneeling on the ground.
This is the Sword of Peace statue. Legend has it that this ancient hero could not bear to see people on earth killing each other. Guided by the gods, he sacrificed his life, projecting his prayers for peace onto his sword, and then plunged the sword into the earth.
The earth was split in two by the power of the great hero, physically separating the two sides of the war.
With this divine retribution, both sides finally calmed down from their long-standing feud, stopped the war, and reconciled a century later.
This statue was erected here to commemorate this great hero.
"That kid Jiao, he's been brainwashed a bit by religious ideas," Su Li complained, looking at the words on the paper. "Instead of writing this, he should write more landmarks for navigation."
The location was quite easy to find on the map. There was a long black line to the north, which should be the location of the Great Rift Valley. It took Su Li and his team a long time to finally pinpoint the location of the statue on this black line.
“I think what we need most right now is some computer equipment to help us.” After finding the statue and marking its location with a paintbrush, Sun Lili couldn’t help but say, “It’s too troublesome and a waste of energy.”
“Once the train reaches level 9 and enters electrification, you can set up a smart butler. Otherwise, you'll have to buy the equipment from other players.” Su Li rubbed Sun Lili's head. “There aren't many scenarios where it will be used, so just bear with it a little longer.”
Such a simple task could actually be done on a laptop, but what Su Li and her team lacked was a device to export this data and convert it into data that the laptop could recognize.
It was already evening.
After Su Li and the others finished eating, they discovered that the weather outside had changed.
The weather at sea is more changeable than on land, so it's not surprising that the weather changes at sea.
However, in addition to the dark clouds in the sky, various shimmering patterns appeared on the seabed, which was quite unusual.
"It's most likely an evil god, why are they only attacking now?"
Su Li felt somewhat confused by the evil god's actions.
But that suited him perfectly. This evil god never made a move; he was like a toad, annoying and irritating.
The group came outside the train and stood on its roof.
The once clear night sky, where the stars were clearly visible, was swallowed up by layers of dark clouds, and the light suddenly dimmed, as if someone had pulled the switch off the world.
The sea began to stir restlessly. What started as tiny ripples collided with each other quickly developed into irregular surges. The crisscrossing patterns on the seabed symbolized the resurgence of the evil god's power.
The sea suddenly boiled. The calm purple water instantly transformed into a raging whirlpool, and giant waves rose up from the ground without warning, only to burst into pale white foam in mid-air.
In the midst of this chaos, a huge black hill suddenly rose from the sea, radiating two different magical colors.
