Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!
Chapter 359 Survivor Base
“Let’s look for the source of this mineral these days,” Su Li said.
He's starting to regret it; he killed them all without leaving a single one alive.
Ivan and Sophia put the square steel into their inventory, and the group began to scavenge other supplies on this floor.
After looting, Su Li and his group did not continue exploring downwards, but instead headed towards the rooftop.
They have absolutely no idea what lies beneath the fog, so they might as well drive to the place where the well-constructed survival facilities are located and ask those people. They've dug so much soil out of the ground; they must know exactly what's down there.
Upon reaching the rooftop, Su Li discovered that there were about 10 people standing there, including the middle-aged man they had seen before.
Seeing Su Li and the others approach, the group of people, as if they had rehearsed it, all raised their hands to show that they were harmless.
Su Li was speechless, looking at the middle-aged man, "What do you want to do?"
"We just wanted to ask you if you could take us to that building over there." The middle-aged man pointed to the side.
Following his finger, Su Li realized that the building was their target—the one with vegetables growing all over its roof.
"No way," Su Li refused outright. "Are you trying to defect to them? What if they don't accept you if we take you there?"
"It's alright, we've already discussed it over the walkie-talkie," the middle-aged man said with a smile. "We have a solar charger, and we're still keeping in touch via the walkie-talkie. We just contacted them, and they agreed."
After saying this, the middle-aged man knelt down, and the rest of the people followed suit, kowtowing to Su Li and the others, "Please, take us there."
Su Li didn't avoid the question, but after thinking for a moment, she said, "Bring the walkie-talkie over, I'd like to communicate with them."
The middle-aged man quickly handed over the walkie-talkie with both hands. Su Li pressed the switch on the walkie-talkie and asked, "Hello, can you hear me?"
"I can hear you." A steady voice came from the other end. "I am Yu Fei, the deputy manager of the food city base."
"Can I take a look from the rooftop?" Su Li asked.
"can."
Su Li looked into the distance and sure enough, a person with a walkie-talkie walked onto the rooftop and waved at Su Li. "Can you see this?"
"I can see them. Are you sure you want me to take them there?"
"Of course, what we lack most right now is manpower."
"What about my reward?" Su Li asked, thinking that he couldn't possibly expect to get something for nothing.
“We can give you some supplies. Your train is so small, even if there are any planting facilities inside, they must be on a very small scale. We have plenty of fresh vegetables here.” Yu Fei’s words were very tempting to the indigenous people.
But that was useless to Su Li. "Aren't you afraid we'll just rob you?"
"Of course we're not afraid. We're capable of building a base here." Yu Fei's voice was full of confidence.
It seems that they are quite strong among the survivors, and most of them are probably superhumans.
However, Su Li wasn't afraid at all. You can't exactly pull out a Gold-level expert, can you? If someone were a Gold-level expert, they could fly; why would they need Su Li and his group to carry them?!
Silver tier? Enough for our squad to kill?
With his strength, Su Li had no need to hesitate. He also wanted to talk to these people more and gather some information.
“We can help bring people, but we need to discuss the compensation,” Su Li replied.
"what do you want?"
"I want some materials and intelligence."
“Okay, come over here and we can talk,” Yu Fei replied. “By the way, don’t point your train guns at us. If you come over and the train guns are pointed at us, we will retaliate immediately.”
"of course."
"The deal's done," Su Li tossed the walkie-talkie to the middle-aged man. "How many people are there?"
“Just the 12 of us,” the middle-aged man said, beaming with joy. “And our supplies.”
"Aren't there still quite a few people in here?" Su Li asked, puzzled.
"Captain Yu doesn't want those people." The middle-aged man carefully put away his walkie-talkie. "Those people are all mentally unstable and have a serious tendency towards violence."
Zurich shrugged.
Then, these people got busy. Like ants, they hauled supplies out of their own floors.
They still had quite a lot of supplies left. Su Li saw boxes of fruit, as well as rice, flour, oil, and nuts, all of which were regular items for the company's New Year's goods.
Su Li thought they were too slow, so she had Ivan cast a power aura on them.
To their surprise, the group found that their strength had more than doubled, and they then sped up the transport of supplies.
Zurich did not allow them to board the train, as these people all carried the virus.
He had the group move the supplies into the vehicle's cargo compartment. Even with the supplies and the group inside, there was still some space.
While they were moving their things, Su Li chatted with the middle-aged man for a few moments. He pointed to the tracks suspended in the air, connecting the various high-rise buildings, and asked, "Why don't you use the tracks?"
He had expected an answer like, "It's too windy, I'm afraid of heights." To his surprise, the middle-aged man looked at Su Li with a look of astonishment. "Those are train tracks!"
Su Li was full of questions. "What's wrong with the train tracks? Come to think of it, the train tracks are built on a high floor, don't you find that strange?"
"What's so strange about that? It's a train track." The middle-aged man was quite puzzled by the question.
What could Su Li say? She could only say that the system was amazing, and its method of overcoming the perception barrier was ingenious.
After everyone had boarded the train, Zuli and his group started the train.
Their destination was a tall building about 2 kilometers away, with more than ten floors.
Just a few minutes later, the train stopped next to the high-rise building.
Su Li got out of the car, and Deputy Captain Yu came up to her. "Thank you for your help."
Su Li looked the person up and down. She sensed that the person's energy level was at the Black Iron level, with a sharp aura.
"It's alright, it's the end of the world, we still need to help each other," Su Li said with a smile.
Su Li had excellent control over her magical energy, with no leakage of her aura, so her opponent did not sense her power.
Hearing Su Li's words, Yu Fei's smile became more sincere. "You're right. In this terrible world, the right thing to do is for everyone to unite."
On the other side, Ivan had already opened the door of the vehicle.
Yu Fei first gestured to Su Li, and after receiving Su Li's permission, he waved to the men he had brought. These men walked to the vehicle and began unloading goods.
As they were carrying the load, one of the young men suddenly cheered, and then the rest of the men joined in the laughter.
"Deputy Captain Yu, we have pre-cooked food, braised pork!" The young man gestured to Yu Fei, holding up a bright red package.
Pre-cooked meals that were once looked down upon have become treasures at this time.
