Train Survival: You're really trying to survive!

Chapter 104 New Teammates, Becoming an Apprentice

Su Li returned to the train with her new teammates.

When new teammates join the team, it's natural to introduce yourself. Su Li and the other two introduced themselves one by one, and then it was Song Mingyu's turn.

“Song Mingyu, 32 years old, is an emergency room doctor,” Song Mingyu said briefly.

"Uh, is that all? Can you say a little more?" Su Li asked, scratching her head.

"Um... I don't know how to say it, why don't you ask?" Song Mingyu replied.

Looking at her dark circles, Su Li had a feeling she was about to collapse into bed. Logically, she should be full of energy after just being resurrected; was it just a matter of habit?

"Let me ask you first, is this how you really look?" Ivan asked curiously.

"Well, when I was 18, I looked roughly like this, but my skin was a little worse than it is now, and my bust wasn't this big. After gaining weight, my bust size also increases. When the gods helped me lose weight, it seems they forgot to help me lose weight in my 'bear' (referring to my physique)," Song Mingyu replied.

"Then how did you become like the one in the projection?" Su Li asked curiously.

“Sigh~” Song Mingyu sighed, “Because I am a pediatrician and emergency room doctor who has completed 5 years of undergraduate studies, 3 years of master’s studies, 3 years of doctoral studies, 3 years of residency training, and suffers from insomnia.”

Hearing this, Song Mingyu seemed to have opened a floodgate of words, rambling on and on, "I shouldn't have studied medicine. When I was little, I watched TV dramas, and the female doctors were always surrounded by handsome male doctors, which made me want to study medicine."

Later, I actually enrolled in medical school, but I was terrified that I might end up killing someone with my medical skills. During my time at school, I spent all my time memorizing, constantly on edge, under immense pressure, and even developed insomnia. By graduation, I had actually memorized the entire "Autumn in My Heart" (or "Blue Love") book; the stack of books was taller than me.

"I should have studied rehabilitation medicine, tried to get into the sports team, and even been able to touch my own abs. Ugh~ Studying clinical medicine is all about memorizing. During my residency training, I had a terrible experience and ended up in pediatrics serving all sorts of middle-aged and elderly patients."

On the contrary, the little devil wasn't as much as I had imagined. With my imposing presence, the kids were all afraid I'd die in front of them, and their attitudes were incredibly good.

When I graduated, because I wasn't good at speaking, I was assigned to the emergency department. I spent every day in the emergency room, which caused me to gain weight from overwork.

And the handsome doctors I've been thinking about for 30 years are all starting to lose their hair at such a young age. Ah, it's so despairing. If only there were a gun to give me a second chance at life.

Song Mingyu kept muttering to herself, and negative energy was visibly dissipating.

Su Li broke out in a cold sweat; it seems that pediatricians and emergency room doctors really have a tough job.

Sofia asked, somewhat puzzled, "Then why did you answer the call? Wouldn't it be better to enjoy the peace and quiet of Anning Village if it's so arduous?"

“…Probably because I also want to contribute to our civilization.” Song Mingyu shook her head. “Okay, that’s a bit fake. I probably just want to put what I’ve learned to good use. I’ve worked hard for 14 years, spending half my life learning these skills, and I died before I could even put them to practical use. I feel so resentful. My life feels like a joke.”

That's why I answered the call.

"Are you unwilling?" Su Li murmured the word, understanding Song Mingyu's thoughts. "Then the team's medical care will be in your hands from now on. Show your skills to the fullest."

"If it were really my turn to show off my skills, you guys would be in deep trouble. So you'd better hope you never need me and let me be a lazy, idle paycheck thief," Song Mingyu complained listlessly. Then she held out her hand, "I'll be relying on you from now on."

"Let's support each other." Su Li grasped Song Mingyu's hand.

After everyone had finished getting familiar with the process, Su Li was ready to assign tasks to them.

First and foremost, of course, is to arrange for study.

Su Li first spent 200 Survival Coins to buy Song Mingyu the [Basic Healer Training]. This free scroll from the God of Pioneers requires the user to have magic power to use. First, Song Mingyu needs to acquire magic power.

The methods for training magical abilities differ for each profession. Since Su Li and her group don't have the magical ability training methods for healers, they still need to buy courses.

After Song Mingyu went to training, Su Li also took out a freebie voucher. He planned to scout it out first.

Holding the freebie coupon, Su Li infused it with her magical energy.

Then, everything blurred before her eyes. Su Li then appeared in a large hall.

There were many people in the hall, most of them humanoid, but they were different from humans in some ways. For example, the most numerous here was a race with four arms.

“Another one has arrived… well, it was sent by a deity.” A humanoid creature with an elephant trunk looked at the updated information in the notebook. “He’s here to worship Master Ka.”

The man with the elephant trunk walked up to Su Li. "Hello, welcome to the Elemental Sword Sect. I am Luther, your guide. Please follow me, and I will take you to Master Ka."

"Thank you for your trouble." Su Li quickly followed. In her heart, however, she thought to herself, "This localization is really well done. Sword Sect, Sword Sect, hmm~ it has a strong martial arts flavor."

He followed this person out of the hall, and then the space in front of him suddenly opened up.

He then realized that he was in the middle of mountains.

He stood on a mountain peak that rose above the clouds, surrounded by numerous other peaks, each adorned with ancient and elegant architecture. Cableways connected the various peaks, and the swirling mist made it seem as if a cultivation sect from Zu Li's dreams had come to life.

Luther kindly explained, "Today is the day the Elemental Sword Sect is accepting disciples. That's why there are so many visitors. In a few days, there will be far fewer people."

"What a coincidence? It's the very day I'm taking on apprentices," Su Li said in surprise.

“No, it’s not a coincidence. The God of Pioneers used his divine power to send you to the past, to a day when he was taking on disciples,” Luther explained. “The God of Pioneers is an extremely powerful deity. Manipulating time and seeing through fate is very easy for him.”

"The God of Pioneers, amazing!" Su Li exclaimed. He really hadn't expected that it would be the God of Pioneers who sent him to the past.

Following Luther's directions, Zurich arrived at a courtyard on the mountain peak. There were far fewer people in this courtyard; besides Zurich, there were only four others.

Their appearances differed somewhat from Su Li's; one had an extra eye between his eyebrows, one had four arms, one had incredibly large eyes, and one was a man with animal ears.

Before them stood two rows of humanoid creatures dressed in identical clothing, lined up on either side. One of them had compound eyes with insect-like features, which made Su Li take a second look.

In the middle was a chair, where an old man with white hair and a white beard sat, drinking something. Beside him stood two middle-aged men.

“Very good, everyone is here.” One of the handsome middle-aged men with pointed ears looked at Su Li and the other four. “I am Master Ka’s eldest disciple, Jing Mi. You all want to learn from Master Ka.”

"The fact that you're standing here means I've accepted you as disciples, but there's a big difference between learning directly from Master Karl and learning from my fellow disciples. Now, demonstrate your magical abilities and recount your achievements. If Master Karl approves, he will personally teach you. If not, your fellow disciples will teach you."

The five of them, including Su Li, released their magical energy. Su Li's magical energy, which was a mixture of white and black, immediately attracted the attention of those around them.

"Hmm, opposition and unity, very good energy attributes," Master Ka commented while drinking tea, focusing solely on Su Li. This immediately made the other four people look at Su Li with more complicated expressions.

"Tell me about your achievements."

"I'll go first." The three-eyed man stepped forward first. "I killed the Silver-level monster, Thunder Fist Ape, all by myself."

"Hmm, not bad," Master Card commented.

The next person stepped forward, saying, "During my exploration, I obtained the world's essence from the fragmented world four times in a row."

"Hmm, not bad," Master Card commented again.

"I was surrounded and attacked by 200 players of the same level, and I killed them all."

"Yes, you should go and learn from the Crimson Blood Elder. Tranquility, contact the Crimson Blood Elder."

"I single-handedly defeated a team of players from another civilization, who were far superior in level, and penetrated deep into the enemy camp to reclaim the lost origin of civilization."

"Hmm! Very good! You will study under my eldest disciple, Jingmi."

Finally, it was Su Li's turn. Su Li suddenly became a little anxious. He dug up his experience of protecting ants when he was in kindergarten, but he couldn't find any achievements that could be compared with these people.

He glanced at Master Ka's robes, which bore the distinctive emblem of a follower of the god of pioneering. His eyes lit up, and an idea formed in his mind.

“I’ll have the God of Pioneers record this as a demerit and deduct one point.”

Master Ka's slightly narrowed eyes widened instantly. He slammed his hand on the table and shouted, "Oh my! Isn't this my most beloved disciple, Su Li? Come here quickly, let your master take a good look at him."
