Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 486 The Unknown Divine Kingdom (1)

After the main force rested for more than two hours, the temporary supply base was finally completed. Most people had their own things to do, and only a few professors walked around the small base to evaluate the students' work.

"Was this section of the city wall built?"

"Professor McGonagall, I did it!"

A boy timidly answered Professor McGonagall's question, but his voice clearly lacked confidence. The reason for this lack of confidence was simple: his Transfiguration spell had been cast incorrectly. The other sections of the wall were either made of brick or stone. Only this boy's wall was made of earth. Although this was only a temporary supply base, his spellcasting did not satisfy Professor McGonagall.

"Malachi, I don't know your Transfiguration grade. At least I think it needs improvement! I estimate the expedition will rest here all day, so you still have time to rework this wall. William Ramsay, give him a hand! I hope it will perform better when we set off tomorrow!"

“Yes, Professor McGonagall! Malachi, come with me!”

The young wizard named Malachi said nothing, simply nodded, and left the group with William Ramsay to resume casting spells on the walls he was responsible for. Professor McGonagall, meanwhile, led the other students on a continued tour of the base. The students who received praise were delighted, while those who received criticism began to rework according to Professor McGonagall's instructions. However, most of the apprentices received praise, given their age and the fact that their Transfiguration skills were quite good.

Just as Professor McGonagall had predicted, the expedition rested for a day at their temporary base. This was mainly because some of the food they had brought on their initial journey had been used up and needed replenishing. Several wizards used Apparition to bring back a significant amount of food from the Dragon Kingdom's outpost. The reason for preparing so many supplies was to ensure the expedition could survive longer in the Divine Realm should they encounter any problems.

As night fell, the entire expedition team returned to their temporary supply base, finally able to rest after a long day. Several young wizards, unwilling to rest too early, lit a campfire in the open and began chatting. However, as they talked, some felt hungry and took out their dried meat to roast over the fire. And what better way to have a barbecue than beer? The conversation grew lively, and more and more people gathered, until one campfire wasn't enough. So, several more campfires were lit nearby.

When Darris and his group joined the team, the entire supply base turned into a wild party. Almost everyone except those on duty that day attended the evening's party, and after consuming large amounts of meat, vegetables, fruit, and beer, people slowly dispersed, still feeling quite tipsy.

The expedition team, originally scheduled to depart at eight o'clock the next morning, was delayed by two hours due to the previous night's revelry. They only assembled after breakfast and began their ascent into the edge of the canyon. A small group remained at the supply base, mainly soldiers from the Dragon Kingdom and some young wizards. These young wizards, however, became quite disgruntled. They felt they were being left behind when they were about to reach their destination; anyone would be upset in that situation.

However, a temporary supply base is equally important. In case the expedition team encounters any problems in the unknown divine realm, at least people outside can call for help, right? Since that's the case, someone has to stay behind, right? Who would those professors, Darius, dare to let stay? Since they can't stay, then we can only ask these young people to make do. After all, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future!

In the end, it was Darius who stepped in and agreed to give the young wizards who stayed behind double the mission points, and to send someone to replace them as soon as he confirmed that there was no danger in the unknown divine kingdom. This finally appeased the young wizards who stayed behind.

"Hey, Ur, don't look so gloomy! You'll get double the mission points! Keep watch on the base and wait for our triumphant return! Hahahaha..."

"Jackson, you traitorous bastard! Get out of here, or don't blame me for begging the professor to keep you here too!"

Seeing Ur's disgruntled and grumbling expression, Jackson, Nash, and Zoya laughed and followed the main group without looking back. After walking for five or six hours, the expedition finally reached their destination. In the primeval forest composed of tall trees, the wizard who was scouting ahead encountered an invisible wall.

"Minister Darius, we've arrived! Our men have reached the protective shield!"

"Dika, I'm no longer the Minister of Magic! From now on, just call me by my full name or 'senior'!"

"Okay, Senior Darius!"

Darius corrected Dika's habitual way of addressing him, then ordered the entire expedition to halt. The expedition members gathered, looking at Darius with puzzled expressions—why were they being told to stop? Darius didn't say much; he turned, took out his wand, and cast a spell on the distant sky.

The spell, flashing red light, shot forward and struck something after a short while. Everyone then felt a ripple in the distant scenery. Only then did they realize that they had arrived at their destination.

"Everyone, begin proceeding according to plan!"

At Darius's command, the entire expedition team quickly set up. The soldiers and young wizards of the Dragon Kingdom began to build a temporary camp. This was understandable, mainly because they were afraid of spending too much time here, and traveling back and forth to the temporary supply base every day would be too much of a waste of energy, so they needed to set up a temporary camp here.

Meanwhile, the wizards and the expedition team from the Dragon Kingdom began testing the protective shield in front of them using various methods. The wizards were mainly trying to open the shield, while the expedition team was studying its energy source, properties, and so on, primarily to see if the shield could be replicated. Although the wizards also provided shield-building services for Muggles on Earth from time to time, who wouldn't be tempted by more options?

In front of the protective shield, Darius and the others formed a small circle and began to discuss how to break through it.

“Professor McGonagall, the last time we came here, we didn’t have enough people to break it. Now that we have enough people, we can just use magic to blast it apart!”

"We can give it a try! Darius, have the children stand back!"
