Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 463 Entrustment (1)
"Then I hope we can be assigned to the same college!"
It's human nature to huddle together for warmth in unfamiliar places, and this rule applies to the continent of Karen as well. The one who spoke was the only female vampire among the four, a little girl with a full head of black hair. She looked very well-behaved; if it weren't for her slightly pale complexion, she would have been no different from an ordinary girl next door.
Zoya clearly liked the well-behaved little girl, and she tried to hold the little girl's hand.
“I am Zoya, Zoya Vera! I hope you can come to Ravenclaw, because we Ravenclaws are known for our wisdom! What is your name?”
“Jenny, Jenny de Leoncott!”
"Jenny? That's a nice name! And who are you?"
Zoya turned her gaze to the other three boys, who each stepped forward and introduced themselves.
Hippolytus de Leoncourt
"Zigmund de Leoncourt"
Leopold de Leoncourt
Upon hearing four names sharing the same surname, Jackson clearly became interested. This might be the first time at Hogwarts that four people from the same family had been in the same year—a rare occurrence in the wizarding world!
"Wow, the four of you are from the same family! Are you siblings or brothers?"
"No, Jenny is a generation above us! She's our aunt, and the three of us are cousins!"
"I see. Alright! It's almost time. De Leoncotts, we need to go buy you some school supplies for this semester! Here's some money for you; it's your allowance for the whole year. It's not much, but it'll be enough!"
As he spoke, Jackson pulled four identical bags from his pocket. To be honest, eight hundred Galleons was quite heavy, which was why Jackson chose to divide the money among the four of them right now. The four little vampires took the bags, curiously opened them, and peeked inside. Then, they were blinded by the golden light.
"This is the currency used in our wizarding world, they call it Galleons! Of course, you can still use them in the Muggle world if you want, those Muggles really like them and will be willing to pay a high price for them!"
"Senior, these Galleons are much nicer than the dinars we use!"
As he spoke, Hippolytus took out a few denars from his pocket and placed them together with the galleons he took out of the bag. It was obvious that the denars were old and could not compare to the galleons.
"These Galleons were made by fairies, and they're imbued with their permanent magic, so they stay brand new no matter how much time passes! Alright, now we need to go to the bottom of the Mirror Floating Island; that's where we find what we need!"
The six left the school's auditorium and arrived at a public carriage stop on the street. Jackson drew his wand and tapped it lightly twice on the stop sign. Suddenly, a two-horse carriage appeared on the street in the distance and approached them. The carriage quickly stopped in front of them, and after everyone boarded and closed the doors, Jackson explained to the four younger children.
"I'll take you to buy wands later. Once you have your own wands, you can summon the public carriages around school like I did just now. Remember, you only need to tap the wand twice!"
The carriage arrived at the portal to the floating island. After a flash of white light, they reappeared beneath the mirror-like floating island. Anyone observing from a distance would be astonished to see a carriage vanish from the top of the island and reappear below. The entire carriage and its occupants were upside down, yet neither the carriage nor its occupants seemed to notice anything amiss.
When the six young wizards alighted from the carriage, they were astonished to find that the sky above them had vanished, replaced by a dense forest. It was a magical feeling; the world had shifted. They weren't worried about falling into the forest; rather, they were afraid that something from the forest would fall and hit them.
However, it was clear that their worries were unnecessary; their concern stemmed more from their awe of magic.
Jackson and Zoe first took them to a clothing store, where each of them had several school uniform robes made. The Hogwarts uniforms without house badges still looked quite good on them.
Afterwards, they visited the wand shop, bookstore, and pet shop on the floating island. Besides their usual school supplies, each of them bought a black mamba snake as a pet. This puzzled Jackson and Zoya greatly; they hadn't expected the young wizards of the de Leoncott family to like snakes.
Perhaps only the de Leoncott family themselves truly know the answer; they are vampires, inherently cold-blooded, and naturally prefer cold-blooded animals. However, after seeing the pets they chose, Jackson was even more certain that these four de Leoncotts would be assigned to their respective schools. Seriously, where else could they be assigned if they chose snakes as pets!
When Jackson and Zoya took the four children to buy textbooks, Zoya curiously asked them about magic on the continent of Karen.
"Jenny, what is magic like on your continent of Karen? I mean, how do you learn magic?"
"Senior Zoia, I'm not sure! People in our De Leoncott family are born with magic; we don't need to learn it!"
"!!!"
A Versailles-like feeling welled up inside her. What did that mean? Born with it? Is there really such a thing? I want it too!!! Zoya was shocked by Jenny's answer. In Zoya's eyes, Jenny and the others were the real wizards. Their magic was something they were born with, while she had to practice day and night. Was there any justice in this world?
"Jenny, are all professionals like this on the Karen Continent?"
"Others may not know, but this is how it is in our family!"
"Then how do you distinguish between strong and weak?"
"Our De Leoncott family's strength increases with age. I believe this is a unique magical talent of our De Leoncott family! Not everyone possesses it!"
"Talent? Does that mean other families on the Karen Continent also have their own innate magical talents?"
"That's right, and that's why we came to Hogwarts! We want to learn more different schools of magic!"
Hearing this, Jackson and Zoe felt relieved, after all, everyone is different. These members of the De Leoncott family possessed talents that they could only envy, but thankfully they weren't all-rounders and still needed to study hard to improve themselves.
After buying a bunch of things, it was noon. Instead of returning to the college, they had a nice lunch in the living area.
