Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 444 The Last Day of June (1)

The war continues, and the humans of Earth have gained the upper hand on the battlefield. Large numbers of orc soldiers have lost their minds due to entering berserk mode; they only know how to kill any enemy in front of them, rather than considering whether they can defeat them.

The siege of the Dragon Kingdom's outpost base was thinning due to the deaths of a large number of orc soldiers. Just when everything was developing in a direction favorable to humanity, a series of loud noises came from a distance far from the battlefield.

The Orcish Empire's powerful weaponry has been unleashed. Strictly speaking, the magic crystal cannon didn't originally belong to the Orcish Empire. They obtained it through a raid on the Dwarven Kingdom's capital. The remaining dwarves of Parthia City, lacking the raw materials and the necessary blueprints, no longer knew how to manufacture it. Furthermore, the Orcs burned all the blueprints during their raid, so now every broken one is one less available.

Because it is so important, the Orc Empire would not easily lend it out. If it weren't for the fact that the general leading the army was the Orc Sword Saint Samuro, they might not have been able to borrow it this time.

The wizards, who were still fiercely slaughtering orc soldiers, noticed a dozen huge points of light approaching from the distant sky. The wizard flying in the formation had also noticed this, as he was flying high. He quickly noted it down, folded it into a paper airplane, and threw it. The paper airplane soon reached Professor Minerva McGonagall's hands.

Professor Minerva McGonagall looked up at the sky after reading the note; the dozen or so points of light were getting closer and closer. Although she didn't know what they were, she knew without a doubt that they were an enemy attack tactic.

"Hold on, the enemy's attack is here! Reserves, you also need to inject magic into the protective array!"

The rotating defense personnel had already seen the projected orbs of light, and now, under Professor McGonagall's command, everyone drew their wands and channeled magic into the protective array. Then, like meteors hitting the earth, they crashed into the protective array, leaving long pillars of light trails.

Boom, boom, boom. A dozen huge explosions resounded throughout the battlefield, the loud noises causing many to cover their ears. Some orc soldiers who were nearby, due to their poor defenses, were directly killed by the aftershocks of the explosions. As for the wizards inside the great formation, they were unharmed because of the formation's protection. However, the wizards' defensive formation was clearly severely damaged, but fortunately, it could still be maintained as long as there was enough magic power.

However, Professor McGonagall, who was in charge of the defense within the array, looked rather grim. She knew in her heart that the wizards' defensive array wouldn't withstand many more attacks before it was breached. Once the defensive array she was in charge of collapsed, the wizards would certainly suffer losses; just imagine the consequences of a horde of zombies charging recklessly at a group of soldiers.

Just as Professor McGonagall was worrying about her defensive array, Andres, who was patrolling the battlefield, also witnessed the attack. Andres understood that the orcs couldn't be allowed to attack their defensive array at will; he needed to do something.

Andres gathered over a thousand Auror soldiers who were slaughtering orc soldiers on the battlefield, and he spotted Professor Felix Frivi among them. So Andres assigned the mission to Professor Frivi, who readily agreed and quickly assembled the thousand-strong Auror force, heading towards the orcish magic crystal cannon position.

To quickly eliminate these magic crystal cannons, Professor Flitwick and the thousands of Aurors used Disillusionment Charms on themselves and Apparated to move forward. Because they didn't know the enemy's exact location, they could only Apparate a short distance each time before reappearing and flying again.

After several apparitions, Frivi and his thousands of wizards finally located their target. By this time, the magic crystal cannons had fired two rounds, and a group of orc slaves were preparing for the third attack.

The orc slaves were divided into several groups: one group cleaned the cannon barrels, another group cleaned out the used magic crystals from the cannons, and yet another group replenished the magic crystals. Meanwhile, several high-level orcs were whipping each other to urge everyone to hurry up.

Professor Flitwick gathered the leaders of the Auror squads together, briefly assigned tasks, and everyone sprang into action. They weren't going to give the magic crystal cannons a third chance to speak, and so a bizarre scene unfolded on the magic crystal cannon position.

Suddenly, hundreds upon hundreds of beams of light appeared around the orcs who had been nervously preparing. A spell flashed, and the orcs collapsed, bleeding profusely. The entire process was as simple as chopping vegetables; the orcs were brought down without any resistance. Seeing that there were no orcs left on the magic crystal cannon's position, Professor Flitwick ordered the Aurors to quickly clean up the battlefield and evacuate. After all, this was near the orcs' stronghold; if they got entangled with the orcs, it would be troublesome.

Just as the wizards destroyed the orcs' magic crystal cannons, Samuro, who was observing the battlefield, received news of the cannon's destruction. His face instantly turned ashen—if one could even see it. Samuro felt utterly awful because he had been careless. He had assumed the magic crystal cannons were safe near his main camp and hadn't sent any professionals to protect them. Now, he had been proven wrong, and right near his own army.

Enraged, Samuro instantly left the place where he had spent the entire day and flew towards the magic crystal cannon position. He wanted to teach these despicable humans who had launched the sneak attack a lesson. Meanwhile, the Auror squad responsible for the sneak attack had completed their mission and were preparing to Apparate back. However, due to the large number of people, Professor Flitwick and the others stayed behind to ensure that everyone received the order to retreat.

It was precisely this responsible attitude that led Professor Flitwick and some Aurors to stumble upon the furious Samuro. Professor Flitwick and the Aurors covering their retreat also saw Samuro; anyone who dared to come here alone with only a few followers at this point was clearly no pushover. Professor Flitwick and the remaining Aurors drew their wands and unleashed spells at Samuro and his group. Samuro's group, showing no fear in the face of the incoming magic, immediately went into stealth mode.

When it reappeared before Professor Flitwick and the others, several Aurors were already lying dead on the ground. These fallen Aurors hadn't even closed their eyes yet; they couldn't understand how they had died so suddenly, their heads severed from their bodies.

Seeing this, Flitwick knew he had met his match, so he shouted at the others.

"Run! This is beyond our capabilities!"

Although it couldn't understand what Professor Flitwick was saying, Samuro could guess the general meaning, so it just looked at the human in front of it with a cold smile.
