Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 42, Lesson 1 (1)

Andres returned to the headmaster's office and carefully studied the system and his own attributes. He discovered that his and the professors' magic levels for each subject were actually colored, while the students' were not—something he had deliberately overlooked. Diane had also assumed everything else was gray, only noticing the blue color for Transfiguration.

He spent some time reading "Standard Spells; Beginner". Even after he had roughly read through the entire book, he didn't notice any changes in his attribute panel. Was it because his comprehension was insufficient? Or was the book he was reading too low-level? So he put the book back on the shelf and picked up another book, "Advanced Potion Making".

This time, Andres read the book slowly and carefully. Several hours later, when he felt sleepy, he noticed that his Potions skill level had changed, but the change was not significant, only increasing by about one percent.

This is because his Potions skill level is already at level three, and he has only read a small portion of the book, so his progress isn't as significant. Therefore, Andres plans to stop reading here for today and continue reading tomorrow when he has some free time.

Just as he was about to go to sleep, he noticed a notification on the system. He clicked on it: System points increased by 68. He then remembered that students at school gave him points every day. Although it wasn't much now, it would accumulate over time. Little by little, it would add up! No rush. He closed the system, went straight to sleep—youth is great!

The next morning, the weather was overcast. September in the Scottish Highlands is already quite cool, with temperatures rarely exceeding 22 or 23 degrees Celsius. The students who got up early this morning were mainly Slytherin and Gryffindor students, as their Charms class was in the morning, while Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw's was in the afternoon.

"Aww~ Aww~ Erlinda, I'm really curious how you can eat so much food?" Beretta teased her roommate while eating breakfast.

"Don't talk while you're eating. It's very impolite. Swallow your food before you speak!" Although she was scolding Beretta, Erlinda herself was talking while eating.

"Okay, okay. I'll be having Charms class soon, I'm so excited." Beretta, I'll listen to your suggestions, but I'm not going to do it this way.

“What’s there to get excited about? You went to school before!” Erlinda said, then started attacking the second pumpkin pie.

"But this is magic! Magic! Do you understand magic?!" After finishing her milk, Beretta emphasized again that magic class was different from the classes she used to attend.

“Berita, Erlinda, we’ve finished eating and are heading back to the dorm. See you in the Charms classroom later!” Their other two roommates, Wendy and Violet Branch, waved goodbye.

"Hurry up, Erlinda, they've all left." Beretta had finished eating herself and could only watch Erlinda, who had a great appetite, devour her food.

"What's the rush? You should eat more of this delicious breakfast. You don't know that my mom's breakfast is always a sandwich." Erlinda complained as she finished off another bowl of oatmeal.

Andres observed Ellinda at the table, noticing that despite the amount of food she had eaten, her hunger level was decreasing more slowly than others. Andres wasn't concerned about her eating too much; rather, he feared she might overeat and die.

Fortunately, he saw the child finish a bowl of oatmeal and then stop eating, pulling Beretta aside and leaving. Andres waited until nine o'clock and went directly to the Ravenclaw Dean's office, where Professor Flitwick received him.

“Principal Andres, is there anything I can help you with? As you know, I’m about to go teach the children.”

“Oh, Professor Flitwick, I have nothing to do, I just wanted to audit your class. You know I don’t really have anything to do.”

"Oh, of course. But wouldn't the principal appearing in the classroom and teaching alongside the students affect their learning?"

"Hmm, I only need to attend one class. How about the professor casts an illusion spell on me?"

“Alright then. Stay close to me for a bit.” Professor Flitwick said, waving his wand and casting an Illusion Charm on Andres. The two then went to the classroom, where a few students were already scattered around. Flitwick walked to the podium, while Andres found an inconspicuous corner to sit down.

Another thing was that after finishing breakfast, Jean and his friends went back to their dormitory to grab their bags and hurried to the Charms classroom on the fourth floor. Luckily, he wasn't late; he hadn't been sitting down for long when he saw Professor Flitwick walk into the classroom.

He inadvertently noticed that a chair opposite him had moved slightly. He rubbed his eyes and realized the chair hadn't moved anymore. He thought he had imagined it, unaware that Andres had been watching his entire performance in class.

When it was 9:30, Professor Flitwick stood in front of the lectern and waved his wand. The classroom door slowly closed, and all the students, witnessing this, resolved never to be late again, or they would be locked out.

"Alright, everyone quiet down. Now that we're all here, I'll give you the first lesson." As Professor Flitwick spoke, a piece of chalk wrote the words "What is a spell?" on the blackboard.

"So, can someone tell me what a spell is?" Flitwick asked, and then Beretta raised her hand high.

"Miss Beretta, what are your thoughts?"

"A spell is a magic incantation that can be used to cast spells."

"Hmm, you got part of it right, but not all of it. That's not your fault, because you don't yet understand what silent spellcasting is. So, is there anyone else? What are your thoughts, Mr. Fabio?"

"A spell should be the application of a wizard's own magical power."

"Hmm, that answer is very close. Alright, Gryffindor and Slytherin, two points each." As soon as he finished speaking, two more gems were added to the hourglass in the hall on the first floor for each house. Professor Flitwick continued.

"A spell is a magical act that uses magical power in the magical world to achieve a certain effect, such as the levitation spell. Wingardium leviosa." With that, Professor Flitwick waved his wand, casting a levitation spell at a book on the lectern. The book slowly floated into the air along with the wand.

"I see. A levitation charm can make an object fly, but never use it on people. I'm worried you might not be able to control your magic and cause an accident. In short, a charm adds specific attributes to an object or creature; it changes or adds to an object's properties. It's different from a transfiguration charm; it focuses on what it does to an object, not what the object is!"

In the magical world, most actions are accomplished through spells. For example, the Stun spell can knock someone unconscious. The Happiness spell can make someone happy. Spells are usually accompanied by light and sound, but this isn't always the case; for instance, the Silent Spell doesn't have these effects.
