Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 416 Clash (Part 2)
Dumbledore's water dragon had already annihilated Samuro's mirror image and was now charging towards Samuro. Samuro, having sensed the unusual nature of Dumbledore's water dragon through the mirror image, was sorely mistaken if he thought it was merely a simple attack spell.
This water dragon, besides its offensive capabilities, also has the function of trapping enemies, meaning that if someone is caught by it, they risk being drowned. Samuro made his decision the instant his mirror image was killed; realizing his attack wouldn't harm Dumbledore, he decisively abandoned his target and prepared for his next attack.
However, just as Samuro dodged far away to prepare for his next attack, numerous white lights appeared behind Dumbledore. Then, one by one, Aurors dressed in black wizarding robes arrived at the scene. They had sensed the battle the moment it began, but it took them some time to organize their forces.
Seeing that the enemy had brought so many reinforcements, Samuro had no intention of lingering. He was confident of victory if it were just those ants. However, he sensed a threat from the mage on the other side; this aura was likely one of the two auras he had detected during his earlier scouting.
This human mage was also on the verge of breaking through, whether he could succeed depended entirely on his own fate. However, having such a strong opponent was not bad; at least it meant he wasn't alone, knowing that he still had companions on the path to the peak, even if those companions were enemies.
Samuro then used his Mirror Image again, said one sentence, and slipped away.
"Human mage, you are very strong! I believe we will meet again soon!"
Then Samuro's mirror image began charging towards the humans, and the Aurors behind Dumbledore immediately drew their wands and attacked Samuro's mirror image. The Aurors were primarily interested in capturing Samuro alive, so most of their attacks were stunning spells. They rarely used the Unforgivable Curse, although they did use quite a few spells to trap the enemy.
However, what these Aurors didn't know was that they were only attacking a mirror image. Dumbledore knew this, which is why he didn't intervene. He himself understood that against a powerful enemy like Samuro, it would be difficult for him and his Aurors alone to capture him.
Dumbledore needed help—only someone as skilled as himself and Samuro could possibly capture Samuro; otherwise, they could only repel him. However, since the enemy had retreated, it meant the outpost was temporarily safe. Dumbledore asked the wizards who had arrived.
"How are the soldiers sleeping in the base? What have they gained?"
"I'm sorry, Professor Dumbledore, we came out in such a hurry that we don't know the situation over there yet."
"It's alright, let's go back! But we need to send more people on patrols recently. If we encounter that guy from earlier, run immediately. As many as you can get back, do not even think about fighting him. It's not something you can handle right now."
"Yes, Professor Dumbledore! I will tell Captain Tang Zhihong about this, but Professor, could you ask who is more powerful between the two of you?"
Dumbledore pondered for a moment, recalling the feeling of their earlier exchange, then shook his head and said...
"Their strength levels are about the same, the only difference is that one leans more towards brute force while the other leans more towards magic. It's hard to say who's stronger until the very last moment!"
The Auror in the conversation nodded, seemingly understanding, and stepped back slightly to await Dumbledore's instructions for the next move. Dumbledore didn't linger there but went back to see if Andreas needed any help.
While Dumbledore was battling Samuro outside the base, Andres was inside testing the Book of Dreams to see if it could help the sleeping soldiers. Shortly after Dumbledore left, the Chief of Staff arrived with his men to find Andres.
Seeing the chief of staff's anxious expression, Andres already knew what it was about, so before the chief of staff could speak, Andres spoke up.
"We have a plan to rescue these soldiers; now we just need to test its feasibility. So we need a test subject!"
"Okay, no problem. I understand that these things aren't always 100% successful, as long as you do your best!"
"Alright, let this soldier handle it!"
Andres pointed to the soldier lying on the bed, who was sleeping soundly and peacefully.
"What's his name?"
Andres asked the nurse beside him, who immediately looked through the documents in her hand.
"Liu Yongqiang, his name is Liu Yongqiang, he comes from Kunming."
Andres nodded, took out a quill pen, dipped it in ink, and wrote Liu Yongqiang's and his own names on the Book of Dreams. Then Andres asked the nurse for a needle, pricked his finger, and dripped his blood onto his name.
"Get another needle and prick him again, then drip blood onto his name!"
The nurse beside him quickly obeyed the order, and then she witnessed a shocking scene. Liu Yongqiang's blood was rapidly absorbed by his name, and once the blood was completely absorbed, Liu Yongqiang's name disappeared as well.
Andres tapped the Book of Dreams with his wand, and it began to glow. He then found an empty bed and lay down, entering the Book of Dreams shortly afterward.
At this moment, Liu Yongqiang was wearing his high school uniform, sitting in the classroom listening to his homeroom teacher endlessly explaining exercises on the podium. Something felt off to Liu Yongqiang today, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He felt the scene before him was both familiar and strange. Lost in thought, he was quickly noticed by his homeroom teacher on the podium.
"Liu Yongqiang, you answer this question!"
He didn't hear the homeroom teacher calling him; it was only when his deskmate gently kicked him that he realized what was happening. But it was too late; the homeroom teacher was a little angry and made him stand until the end of the school day. Fortunately, this was the last class of the day, and school would be over in about ten minutes. While Liu Yongqiang was being punished, he looked out the window.
The streets outside the window looked so old? That was his first thought. Soon he wondered why the streets seemed so old. What were they supposed to look like?
Thinking about this gave him a headache. He figured it was probably because he hadn't rested well yesterday, so he hadn't thought about it.
Time quickly came to let out of school, and his best friend, Little Fatty, ran over and pulled him toward the bike shed. Their homes were quite far from the school, requiring a ten-minute bike ride.
"Fatty, why do I feel like something's off today?"
"Strange? What's strange?"
"I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just feels like nothing is real!"
"I think you've been reading too many fantasy novels lately!"
"maybe!"
