Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 36 Sorting Ceremony

Jeanne and Beretta, along with the other young wizards, came out of the car, and Stan called them over.

"All young wizards, come here. The younger ones go first, and the older ones stay behind and help look after each other. Don't get separated, the ground is slippery, be careful not to slip."

Alright, everyone's here, let's go!

"Benhard, don't walk too fast, help me a bit. It's too dark here." It was Joanna who spoke.

Diane took out a simple flashlight from her sleeve to light the way.

"Thank you so much, Diane. I think I would have slipped and fallen if it weren't for you."

"This is what I usually prepare when I travel. I never thought it would come in handy today."

Right in front of them, Beretta was also urging Jeannault on.

"Jeanor, watch out! If you fall, don't drag me down with you!"

"Don't worry, Beretta. We train on wet grass all the time, this is nothing to me!"

The young wizards, along with their friends from the train, helped each other keep up with Stan.

They traversed the misty wilderness, following a stone path, the fallen leaves rustling under their feet. In the distance, the Black Lake shimmered. They arrived at a dock.

"Four people per boat. I hope you will sit still and not fool around. Once everyone is seated, we will set off."

These boats were improvised by Professor McGonagall and even had an automatic propulsion spell on them. So the young wizards didn't need to row.

Stan was alone on a boat, holding up a kerosene lamp, while the other boats also had kerosene lamps hanging on them for illumination.

The small boat began to move slowly forward, and as they passed under an arched bridge, a classic scene from the Harry Potter movies unfolded.

The small boat carried them around the bend, and the young wizards' view opened up. They came to the lake, where Hogwarts, standing on the rocks in the distance, was brightly lit.

The enormous castle filled the young wizards with immense awe; it was far more magnificent than any castle in the movies. The young wizards gazed up at the castle, the silver moon moving swiftly through the clouds (at this moment, Hedwig's Variations should begin to play). This was where the dream began!

The small boat moved slowly forward, while the young wizards stared wide-eyed!

"My goodness, this is Hogwarts!" - A young wizard

"Ahhh, I'm so excited! I never thought I could go to school here, it's like a dream!" - A little wizard

"Benhard, am I dreaming? Pinch me! Ouch! What are you doing?!" - A certain unreasonable witch

"Didn't you tell me to pinch you?!" - A wronged male wizard

"Alright, you two, stop fooling around. It's really magnificent, but it's a shame we can only study here for three years. I wish I could live here forever." - A witch who had just been fed a mouthful of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection).

As the boat glided across the lake, Principal Andres stood in his office, overlooking the water. Though no one was visible, the ship's lights could be seen slowly approaching the castle. "It seems we should disembark, Professor Flitwick!"

"Yes, Principal Andres, I'm also looking forward to meeting the new students!"

After saying that, the two left the principal's office and went to the auditorium on the first floor.

Meanwhile, the students had arrived at the boathouse. They disembarked and officially stepped onto Hogwarts soil, embarking on their wizarding journey.

Stan led them up the stone steps of the boathouse, but fortunately, the Hogwarts streetlights illuminated the way, preventing them from slipping. They entered a small garden square of Hogwarts through a side door, and then went into the castle.

Upon arriving at the entrance of the auditorium, Stan handed the sixty-eight students over to Professor McGonagall.

“Professor McGonagall, all sixty-eight students have been brought here without exception. They are now in your care. Ern and I are going to rest for a bit; we are a little exhausted and will not be attending the dinner.”

“Okay, thank you, Stan! I’ll tell the kitchen to save some food for you.” After saying this, Professor McGonagall approached the students.

"Alright, everyone, quiet down. I know you all know that Hogwarts has four houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. As for which house you'll be sorted into, good luck! Now, get ready, let's go in!"

After saying this, Professor McGonagall turned and pushed open the door to the Great Hall, opening a door that would change the fate of the young wizards.

The young wizards filed in with Professor McGonagall, but it wasn't quite what they had imagined. The Great Hall was completely unmagical; there was no magical ceiling, no numerous magical candles. But none of them dared to ask; they simply walked in and stood there, waiting for the Sorting Hat to distribute wishes to them.

Then another unexpected thing happened. Just when everyone thought the Sorting Hat was going to sing for a while, the Sorting Hat started to sing instead.

"What are you waiting for? Come on up, kids. I'll get you all sorted out so I can go back to sleep. You can't expect this old man to stay up all night with you."

“Alright, everyone whose name I call, please come forward. Beretta Morey.”

The little girl paused for a moment when she heard her name called, not expecting herself to be the first one! But she quickly recovered, walked over, and sat down in the chair. Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on her head, and the Sorting Hat thought for a moment.

"Oh, well then. Lively and innocent child, you are kind-hearted yet naturally active, so Gryffindor would be the best choice for you. Gryffindor!"

With a loud shout from the Sorting Hat, the little girl Beretta was sorted into Gryffindor. As she handed the Sorting Hat to Professor McGonagall, the professor gestured for her to go to the first long table on her right.

“Jean-Noël Madison, please come forward.”

Jean put the Sorting Hat on his head, and the Sorting Hat murmured, "Oh, a determined little wizard, filled with worship of power and also with ultimate honor! Slytherin!"

Another shout sent Norman Madison into Slytherin. When returning the Sorting Hat, Professor McGonagall gestured for him to go to the first long table on the left.

"Next up is Diane Bryan."

"Oh, a kind, generous, and helpful child, Gryffindor is an option, but at the same time, Ravenclaw is also a good choice. So, where would you like to go?"

"Ravenclaw! I want to go to Ravenclaw!"

"Alright, Ravenclaw it is then, Ravenclaw!"

"Congratulations, child. Go to the second long table on your right."

"Next up, Bernhard Wiggins"

"Ah, I think you should be assigned to Hufflepuff, where you can really put your talents to use. What do you think?"

"Alright, then Hufflepuff it is!"

Bernhard was thus assigned to Hufflepuff, and he automatically sat down at the second long table on the left.

Joanna went to Gryffindor, and Drew went to Hufflepuff.

After everyone had been assigned to their respective colleges, Principal Andres gently tapped his wine glass and stood up. Everyone fell silent and looked at him.
